Think I’ll post up on Bearbones, someone must have done it….

Hmmm… actually trying a pair on in this country seems a no-no.

    Thanks for that, really helps!

Any one got any recommendations for bike mountable units?

Yep 120 is the magic number. 140 gets all wandery on the ups…

I like the idea the idea of “kingspan” at the bottom of the panels! A lot of people use sheepswool….hmmm

I live on that forum! A lot of people just seem to use one layer of bubble wrap, I don’t reckon that’ll be good enough in the Cairgorms this winter!

Bought a Soul and a month later sold the Five! No regrets, and that’s riding in t’ pennines.

Bought a Soul to replace a 456, which was nice and cheap but beat up my dodgy ankle joints after an hour or so. And oh SO heavy!
2 months later I sold my Five… love my Soul!
Does everything the Pennines can through at it…

Anyone used Pedal Precision at the Manchester Velodrome?

    From the horses mouth……

    “Andy,

    It’s a NO I’m afraid. It’s only certified for up to 140s. I know it’s
frustrating when a good deal comes along, but it’s for your own
    safety.

    Cheers,

    Cy”

You won’t find many people that’ve been…but we loved it! The ride around the island is lovely, sandy tracks down one side and quiet tarmac the other. There are lots of offshoots you can ride out and back on.

I once rode from Ambleside up over High Street, Loadpot hills etc and down to Pooley Bridge. Then up over the Dodds, Helvelyn down to the tarn. Hang a right drop down Little Tongue and back to Ambleside.
50 miles 90% ish off road.

It felt like a BIG day to me! ;-)

So in between service intervals, Pace forks must be very fast?

    PolisherMan

“white” rhymes with “light”, so must be faster than “black” errr? “slack”?

Thanks for the offer again thorlz. I went into panic mode and got some from petra, with huge 24hr postage charge.

Cheers thorlz, but yours are a different model. The 780’s require a 3d shaped cowl, rather than the usual flat disc.

    Orange Five 17″ Jet Black.

It’s all a bit depressing what you have to give them away for, but it’s gotta go!

Mine’s the silver one, ‘cos it’s off to the Himalayas next month. But there is lighter yellow one too. Still way warmer than anything else..

Again depends what you’ll use it for?
If you’re looking for bike/back packing jobbies, then the Thermarest NeoAir Xtherm is UNBELIEVABLE.

I’ve been camping all my life and this mat is just so incredibly commfy, warm and tiny. It’s very expensive, but after one night on it you won’t give a toss!

DESBOROUGH! Not Rushton, for the first sprint. How did they manage to get the name wrong?

Depends where you ride I guess. I’ve got some old and “this will be their last season” U-turn recons. 130-85mm.
Find them too wandery at 130 on tech climbs.

Usually leave them at 120mm and they seem perfect. What options do we have these days for 130/140mm forks with travel adjust?

SS Switch with Mavic rims here. They’ve been hammered on my hardtail, still running true.
I replaced the rear bearings within weeks, but I was expecting too!

No complaints, very easy to service.

You NEED to move! 25 years ago I left Desborough and moved to the Pennines. Never looked back! ;-)

Over the Dodds and keep going south to Helvellyn summit, then about turn and do Sticks Pass. Fantastic descent.

It’s the other one, underneath where the cassette lives. I thought it buts up against one of the bearings, but when I screwed it back in it didn’t seem to touch anything…..

Jeez, just chuck em up the front and throw loads of stuff in after….it’s a van!
