shimano but not with resin pads have more than enough modulation – if you need anymore then you need to learn how to brake properly. My son used to grab the brakes but now doesn’t and is much more confident.

how do you know its the wrong tune for your bike if you don’t know what tune of fox shock to get???????????

cheapest option would be to send the shock to TFtuned and get them to tune it to your bike/weight etc.

I’m sure if you search you’ll find people with floats complaining about the bike using its travel very quickly.

Easton haven is a nice bar plus its fairly cheap for carbon 711mm width

started off with a push tuned fox van RC and switched to a monarch RCS3 to try it out. the coil is much better but it does weigh more.

generally speaking monarchs have more compression damping compared to a fox float for a similar state of tune e.g. MM.

Is that like a dietician only not trained, registered or respected

bearing in mind you need a relevant degree to work in the NHS as a nutritionist and some posts require a postgraduate qualification.

AIUI your body can’t convert protein to fat

we do, its done in the liver

If there is an award for meaningless statements then you’ve just won it!

fail to see how. your comment about an atypical gym user taking protein supplements is pointless. I a lazy bum requires a certain amount of protein a day around 0.8g per Kg (I think) which would be too little for someone trying to build muscle mass in a gym. If you take in more than you need then it will have an effect wither you are me or a body builder. Hence my too much is too much comment. I’ll know in future to explain everything to its fullest with references to peer reviewed articles so you don’t come back with these replies.

If you’re going to go around posting on a Protein supplement thread that people are risking liver and / or brain damage as a result, you really ought to have something to back it up other than if you take an unspecified, but probably huge, amount, you may or may not do some harm

who said brain damage? I wrote impairment which is not the same by a long shot.

If you want a peer reviewed paper then go trawl pubmed yourself. you’ll also get hard stools with too much protein. too much protein is too much protein wither you are a lazy arse like me or a body builder. For the vast majority of us protein shakes are not required

its the same as isotonic drinks – no better than water

Reference please (for impaired liver and brain function

when proteins are broken down ammonia is released. this is normally made safe by the liver. too much protein = too much ammonia = impaired liver function = impaired brain function. technical term is Hepatic encephalopathy.

Leaving aside the typical STW response to questions that weren’t asked…

the OP asked where people got their protein from and a healthy diet provides all the protein people need. The body can make all but 9 amino acids required and eating a good diet will provide all the protein you need. too much protein will cause weight gain, impaired liver and brain function.

And if nature knew best, why would we drink the milk of another species?

not at the start of our lives we don’t – plus can you remember what breast milk tastes like – yuck.

my GP is usually quite good, can normally get an appointment that day although I’m having to wait 4 days through a mixture of no appointments and me not being able to go to the ones that were free. I generally see an FY2 (don’t really care who I see TBH) rather than one of the named partners. My current GP doesn’t do phone consultations like my old one which is a bit of a pain sometimes. normally get seen quite quickly.

Dentists are worse though – had to wait 6 weeks to go see them when my tooth broke as it wasn’t an emergency since I wasn’t in pain.

sorry to drag this up – I’ve just fitted a set of crosstrails to my ghost. First time just going round the block no issues but 4 days later I’m getting a clicking noise when I push hard on the pedals (fine if I just cruise about) its a clicking noise I’m getting is this down to the crap QR adptors? changing skewer made no difference.

Just to add to this – having used a 2014 RC3 and a pushed van rc on my ghost, the air shock is not a patch on the coil. It’s almost a lb lighter and you can add more compression with a flick of the lever but that’s it.

pretty pleased with my new one. bought a ghost ASX plus frame from CRC last month and built it up with a push’d fox van RC.
