    Thanks fivealive.

I will try the cleat repositioning. I have just booked a bike fit for the 21st June and hopefully that will help.

    Thanks for the replies.

Most of my riding is ‘gravel’ so moving to road pedals will not work.

I have a pair of the ‘yoursole’ footbeds but the Specialised BG footbeds seem to work better for me.

    @damascus

I use M530 pedals mainly which do have a platform.

I have never cycled a long distance using flat pedals so cannot say.

    +1 for Polaris.

I bought my 8 year old a jersey and mitts last week and the quality is good for the money.

Based on reviews i got my lad some MIFO O5 earphones. They came with a load of inserts to get the best fit and the sound quality is excellent.

I bought my daughter the Wiggins Chatres a couple of weeks ago. The spec is good for the money and more importantly she loves it.

There is a surplus of UK wheat but as stated above not enough packaging or packing facilities to pack it in retail packs.

Buying a 16kg bag would be my suggestion.

@tjagain – food manufacturers are missing from your list and most other lists i have seen.

Boycotting businesses with poor ethics will be beneficial for employees in the long run.

I will never enter a Wetherspoons or Sports Direct again.

We need to support good independent pubs and shops where possible.

A couple of our employees walk to work and were stopped last night to see where they were going.

I have just issued essential worker letters for them to carry.

Pleased to see most of the country is now taking this seriously.

Work in food manufacturing so we need to continue supplying to feed the masses.

I don’t think we have every been as busy to be honest.

We are trying to do all we can to separate workers on the factory floor but production lines are unfortunately not designed for social distancing.

My daughter is 8 years old; the same age as Tommys. If my daughter came to tell me that a man had just grabbed her bum in the swimming pool, my first thought would not be to get my phone out to interview her.

My guess is that he started a fight with some asian guy, realised afterwards that he could end up back inside and therefore decided to make up a story to try and cover himself.

    The guy is an arsehole.

£4 at my local barbers but they don’t call him ‘Bodger Baz’ for nothing.

I usually go a Turkish barbers near work nowadays. Costs £9 but this includes a de-fuzzing of the ears, back of the neck etc and a lovely lemon scented head spray when they have finished.

Ww have watched Sex Education and The Stranger recently. Sex Education was great and much better than I expected. I think it helped that most of the main characters were likeable. The missus enjoyed The Stranger but i lost interest after the first couple of episodes as there was too many plot lines.

We set out following the EV15 last year from Basel to Rotterdam. As others have mentioned the route can get a bit boring. After the first day we ended up using ‘ride with gps’ and just put where we wanted to finish that day. We ended up on either cycle paths or quiet roads and got to see some interesting sights.

That is the problem with fancy dining.

If you go to a Wetherspoons you can each pay separately and enjoy your meal and drinks knowing there is no bill at the end of the night to argue over.

After the horror stories I made sure that I rested for 3 days following the operation. Just make sure you have plenty of films to watch and/or books to read. I think most of the problems are caused by people trying to do too much too soon but obviously luck plays its part.

After 10 days I felt like I would have been fine to get back cycling but gave it the recommended 3 weeks.

+1 for York Castle Museum. We went last Monday and both children (15 & 8 yo) enjoyed it.

The Shambles is also worth visiting if only for the sweet shop.

Planning on a cycle tour through Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Croatia in September. I have not done much cycling this year so need to start getting out more to get my fitness back.

@Jameso – Fortunately i did not get around to ordering one when they were full price. I bought one at the discounted price from the Sheffield store last week.

Thanks Jameso. At full price it is probably still the bike I like best so will probably go for it.

Do you think the Arkose D3 will be discounted anytime soon?

Tempted to order now but knowing my luck it will be reduced in price soon after i place my order.

Drink? is a good place for a beer. My BIL owned it up until recently but as Brant says it is now under new ownership but i imagine the beer selection will not have changed much.

ED-55 is what i usually go for.

Nope. It is my birthday in October and i also go away on the 26th October for a week so not the best month to abstain from alcohol.

I probably had no more than 3 beers in total in September so not exactly a big drinker.

I agree with convery and would do one of the Eurovelo routes. I did Eurovelo 15 last year. Most of the route is traffic free and logistically it was easier to get there and back.

The Planet X Tempest and a set of Hunt wherls sounds good. The wheels on my current cx bike are due for replacing so i could always use the set that come with the bike.

Thanks for the replies. I will take a look at the Cannondale Topstone. Most of my rides involve 30% road and 70% offroad. I will also use the bike for cycle touring but don’t carry too much as we stop in b&bs/hotels.

I was 30 years old when i learnt to ride a bike. I decided to learn as my first child was 2 years at the tine and i wanted to be able to teach him and then ride with him.

I was cycle commuting within a couple of weeks of learning.

I dont know anyone else though tbh.

There is a clip on YouTube of Joe Gilgun crashing into the side of a car on his mountain bike. The driver has uploaded the clip blaming the crash on Joe. It looks to me that the driver pulled forward.

I was always an Adidas Originals wearer until I tried New Balance. I find them comfier and I look less of an hooligan when I go the football.

M&M Direct currently have various New Balance trainers on sale for around £35.
