+1 Boardman hybrids. I use mine daily for the commute and have done plenty of leisure rides up to 80 miles.

Currently work for a family owned company that employs 120 people. The positives are the lack of politics you often get at bigger companies. The negatives are the lack of promotion prospects once you get to a certain level and the widespread nepatism.

I recently read ‘all hell let loose’ by Max Hastings. It’s the first war book I have read. It includes accounts from both sides and is an upsetting read. The suffering was unbelievable. Hopefully we never have a war of this magnitude ever again.

Boardman hybrid team (no pics). Commute is either 100% road or 10% road / 90% well surfaced paths. I use a backpack and saddlebag. I don’t carry.much weight so have never bothered with panniers.

Technical manager for a food manufacturer supplying the major retailers. reasonably happy but certaIn aspects of the job are a pita. Not considered a career change. The pay is ok but we are far from comfortable as my wife is currently a stay at home mum. Commuting by bike helps me justify spending on bikes.

I live about 8 miles away from donny, barnsley and rotherham and agree with ton that for the mtb the area is poor however there are some decent bridleways / footpaths that you can link together.

On the road bike i usually head towards boothferry bridge via sykehouse on relatively quiet (and flat 🙂 roads

phil.w – a lot of the visits are unannounced so that they cannot clean up just for that day.

I agree that mountains of paperwork do not make a safe eatery but i would not want to eat anywhere that did not know how old ingredients were etc because they had not recorded the dates.
