My Dad done exactly this and I believe he won his case. However the chain he drove over had zero signs or anything on it – was just a low chain.

From what I remember he won the case. Was a very long time ago, tho.

You don’t have to shorten chain unless you’re changing the sprocket sizes on the remaining rings (AFAIK)

It installs the same as any other app.

In fact, I think it might even be simpler – just drag to your dock!

Don’t understand it myself, cold, dirty and uninviting.

Nothing cold dirty and uninviting about having all of your books in alphabetical order.

I wish my partner liked getting anal.

I mean, it doesn’t take long to put the knives in one tray and the forks in the other… and it’s not hard to make sure all pictures on the walls are straight.

Sadly she doesn’t share this point of view. She says I shouldn’t get so anal over things.

I think Hargroves in Southampton/Totton allow you to demo, and certainly allow you to do a car park test (although I appreciate this does not count for much).

Mine arrived yesterday, then despite measuring twice I proceeded to cut the straps for the brace a little short – ah well, still about 1cm of overlap so should be fine.

    Awesome!

I think whats really the issue here is lack of communication from your mate.

Sometimes when people propose stuff to your face, depending on the type of person you are, you may find it hard to say no, you make feel under pressure to say yes, or you may not be able to quickly do the sums to work out what would be a good deal.

He may have not even thought you were being serious (think: when you see an old school mate down the pub and he says “Yeah we must meet up sometime and catch up properly” – never happens does it.)

The issue is he hasn’t explained the situation to you well enough, or been polite enough. If he had sent you a nice little message or phone call just saying “Really sorry, I know I said I would sell but actually after thinking about it I’ve decided I’m after a bit more money for it.”.

The whole situation would of been averted. Communication and politeness. :-)

Much like reading a review of a sports car. Do you really need to know how amazing something is at its limit if you’re never going to get anywhere near the limit?

On this note I once saw an episode of Fifth Gear where Tiff Needell was discussing under-steer in a Kia Picanto

I used to live in an old house that it transpired was once used as an illegal abattoir for chickens.

We kept hearing strange noises in the night, scratching inexplicable clucking sounds. One day a box of eggs mysteriously appeared in the kitchen that no-one remembered buying.

Turned out, we had a poultrygeist.

Genuinely lost my shit to this joke within the context of this post. +Internets.

Apple are VERY good about this sort of thing.

You can even “return” apps if you are not satisfied with them when your purchased them totally conscious and aware of what you were doing. Just open a dispute saying you don’t believe this App is worth 69p and you’ll get it back.

A colleague of mine – his son run up a £500 quid odd bill buying magic dragon eggs in a game on the iPad – he got all that back with no questions.

Apple customer service, best in the business.

    Yeah,

Although now my front shifts have been made a lot, A LOT tighter and quicker, I’ve not had suck. Seriously my front mech is so dialled and shifts so precise.

I’ve only had it once or twice on my C456. Re-adjusting and aligning the front mech seems to have gotten rid of it.

Probably totally unrelated it was just the last thing ive changed on my bike and i’ve not had it since….

Exactly as per above. If you play by PayPals (fairly reasonable)rules you have little to loose. Keeping receipts, sending tracked and signed for, etc.

Also, afaik, if you bank transfer and the person doesn’t deliver goods that is still classed as theft and you can get the police involved. *might be wrong – but I think that’s right.*

I;m not sure is S75 covers you in bank transfer… it might do. Worth reading into.

I recently bought a whole bike (£700) via PayPal, the thought of being stitched up did cross my mind but the bike came through as described and I’ve been a very happy boy since – not all faith in humanity is lost!

My saddle is a few inches higher than my bars on my 140mm trail hardtail.

I’m quite tall and need the leg extension.

Of course, all this is meaningless when I hit the trail as one stands up…

Sometimes Exchange servers go down, or other software/systems fail.

That error message you got is just a generic response saying the server cannot take any messages at the moment.

    Personally, pick up the phone!

Really like my GForms. Sizing is spot on and I forget I have them on every ride. Not had to use them in anger yet, but the “knee the wall” test proved very positive.

If its anything like the industry I work it, the distributors are making nowhere near a 3rd of the RRP.

    More like a tenner/20 quid.

Its the manufacturers who are making the money!

If it’s packing down just add 5 to both chambers, starting with the positive.

    so 90/100.

As a rule, the negative chamber shouldnt be more than plus/minus 15 psi over the positive chamber.

The big question that I can’t see answered here (forgive me if it has been) is “Was the original package signed for at the parcel forward place?”

If it wasn’t signed, and refused back to sender then you have to refund the buyer and claim off of RoyalFail.

If it was signed for and accepted before “being returned” then the parcel forwarding company would have to provide tracking number, otherwise I would assume they have stolen the item which would make it now a criminal case. However your end of the bargain is fulfilled.

To prevent the buyer claiming money, look up Section 75 on money saving expert dot com and educate yourself on how you can get your bank on your side to stop you loosing out.

    I hope this helps.

I have it all day every day, without fail.

Have done for 4 years now.

You learn to get over it and how to predict “attacks” etc.

Alcohol is actually NOT a trigger – alcohol actually relaxes the gut and does the opposite.

In fact I find if I have a pint with dinner it almost completely negates it.

Caffeine, however, is the devil. I used to love my coffee, can’t drink a drop now. Jagerbombs are a no go unless you like bum gravey in the morning.

Eating regularly and having breakfast helps. Peppermint tea etc is good also.

You can read articles for days and learn that this helps, and porridge does that, and that might be a trigger, and write down this, etc – but in my experience (and I’m told I’m quite a bad sufferer) nothing truly helps other than regular meals, regular exercise, laying off caffeine.

Oddly enough the pink Gaviscon chewable things help me a TON when I get a sudden attack. There is peppermint in them which is what does it I guess.

I’ve managed to cut my “toilet visits” right down but I still get the pain/discomfort. You learn to block it out and get on with stuff. I find as long as I’m doing something or my mind is occupied all is fine.

My girlfriend introduced me to water bottles – if you’re comfortable in your sexuality (does not apply to women) and are at home trying to watch a film or something a hot water bottle works wonders – totally relaxes your gut by replacing the pain with the feeling of warm – just takes your mind off it all totally which then relaxes you :)

Obviously I don’t know your circumstance it could be a close friend you are selling too etc

but please be aware that you are only covered by PayPal seller protection when conducting transactions within the UK and the USA.

This essentially means if the buyer decides to chargeback you for whatever reason you would have no protection with PayPal and would loose the frame and the money.*

*AFAIK, please correct if I’m wrong.

    Depends,

if you input your address or selected to go to that address then yes it’s your fault.

If you selected or input your current correct address then its their fault and they will have to send you the item and claim back from their insurance for the **** up.

Either way, you’re not going to get it before XMas now.

If you paid by credit card and the order is over £100 then you’re pretty well protected through S75.

RE: squeezing the TT, not so much vertically, but on the two sides of the trianglish shape that face the floor – you can squeeze these in ever so slightly.

its just beacuse its a long stretch of flat carbon on those sides, rather than rounded like on the DT

    Update:

ParcelForce claims have just sent me an email saying I have a cheque on its way for £37.99 which covers the cost of the new mech. Unsure if I should push for the hanger also.

Time taken for claim: 5 days or so.
