7507.02 Miles. According to strava and my garmin for my one missing month of January. Check Richard Jones on strava for proof.

Its been a mostly wet and soggy 7507.2 miles thats for sure.

I have recently brought a van that is over looked by just about everybody when this comes up. It’s a Citroen Dispatch Long wheel base, High Top. 58 plate so the new shape. 3 seat up front and retro-fit able 3 in the back. Drives a treat and is plenty high enough in the back for standing up ( I am 5.11).

I have it in a nice silver and in the near future will be colour matching the bumpers as well as doing a little camper conversation in the back. More importantly it’s a Citroen so it was cheap!

I have a Citroen Dispatch LWB HT. Great van and dose not look to out of place in Silver. Its ok to drive for day to day stuff but does drink the fuel a little.

Be carfull of height restricted car parks and so on. A small parking camera makes tight car parking spots alot easier.

I belive its worth it for what i really use a van for, most small journeys and going to and from work i just ride any way.

Had a brief look and all i can say is it looked like a absolute machine. I think the distributors may have one that can be demoed through a local Intense store. Check out http://www.extrauk.co.uk

Simon – I stayed mainly in Langabang where winds where strong the majority of the time, however this didnt spoil the riding too much. Im not sure why i had mixed feelings, i like riding my bike as much as i can althought out there i found i could only hack a few hours untill i was fatigued and getting very sun burnt. As well as this i found the trails to be very very dusty…sand pits. Dont get me wrong it was one epic trip and we had some days of rididng i would never forget.

However i am more of a Alps kind of guy. Hard days riding in Okish weather followed by a lovely french cafe to fill up on great food and drink wilst chilling with all the other cycling folk that always flock to those ares. Thats more my cup of tea.

I rode Eselfontein in January this year whilst out there with a friend who is training for the cape epic. It reached 43C at midday and that was enough to just about destroy me, especially with some of those steep climbs they have there. However the 10minute decent down the other side was enough to make it all worth while. I have mixed feeling about the 4 weeks of riding i done out there during January

I did it this year, it was great fun.

The best advice i can give is find the thickest strongest tyres you can get, forget about weight.

Drive out there road trip style its great fun!

Monday eat loads of food and do nothing.. drive to work.
Tuesday night straight from work to a Cycle cross training seshion and then home = 62 miles.
Wednesday ride to work then gym 25 miles.
Thursday: ride to work, with a extended ride home 45 miles ishh
Thursday ride to work 25 miles.
Friday ( well that depends how im feeling) but usually a ride to work and a small extended loop home 35 miles.
Saturday a good long ride 60 miles or so.
    Sunday Cross/mtb racing.

In a nut shell through your life away and dedicate it to winter training. at times i hate it but most of the time i love it 🙂
