I’ve tried to watch it twice now, does nothing for me I’m afraid

I’m also glad I board in the US and therefore very far away from groups like you lot

Yup – I know I’m in a minority but just for balance

Wow – I really thought this thread had finished last night, however, I wanted to say thank you to those of you who had clearly put a lot of thought into your replies.

Gary G has hit the nail on the head, I never mean for this to be taken so seriously otherwise I wouldn’t have put on an open forum, it was just to promote some thought from the hive mind that is STW

So in closing I have decided that once a manipulative bitch always a manipulative bitch and I really wouldn’t put it passed her to be making this up anyway. I won’t be making any response to the message and I’m fine with that.

I am putting more thought into closing my facebook account though.

Sweez – you n me babe, how about it?

    James G – FTW – thank you

Shes not a facebook friend as I have declined twice in the last year – it seems you are able to send a message to someone without being a friend though

I really have no idea what she would want to talk about other than her being a knob years ago. I have no issues with that now just wanted to get a feeling of how people would handle this kind of thing.

Gut feeling is to ignore the whole thing :?

    I did – Calgary – Kamloops – back road to Pemberton – Whistler – Squamish – Vancouver – Nelson – Fernie – Calgary

of those the biking I would do again are Squamish, Nelson BC, Fernie

The driving is much better in the Fernie – Nelson section and you can get on the longest free ferry service in the world

Not to day that the ice field drive isn’t great but you’re not going to be able to do everything

Whatever you do it will be fantastic no doubt

    @ Backhander

Yup – Nelson BC truely is a wonderful town, never been anywhere like it

If I were to live in Canada again that is the only place I would consider

Biked at both Fernie and Golden – both are good – I would slightly edge with Fernie as I think there is more XC (very tough XC to be fair) and the town is a bit bigger

Also if you go to Fernie I would seriously consider going to Nelson BC for a few days as that is really fantastic

I’ve not spent as much time biking in Golden/Kicking horse so perhaps others can tell you more about that area

Yup – almost never use cycle paths – mainly because that silly paint they use is a pain – then the road debris can get a bit much

There a cyclw lane near chesterfield by the side of a dual carraigeway that was good for the 2 miles it lasted and all the ones in Belgium I came across were excellent

I recently rode up and down Llanberis with carbon on one rigids

not something I’d do a lot of but certainly doable

Everything else I’m happy to use them on

Vibes has gone – **** bullshit, that place was a mecca in my yoot

As a point of information – Live band prices are fixed by promoters, the band and/or management have very little or no say in the matter

When you get bands with one hit single and album playing to a sold out MEN or where ever its all a bit silly really

I much prefer to see bands who have paid their dues on the road over decades, that skill cannot be taught and I’m happy to pay for all that sweat and hardwork

A place just outside of Calgary – my breathlessness tells me that was the highest in terms of altitude but no idea what it was – started with a 3 hour fire road slow ascent then up single track to the second ridge then great descent into the car park.

I’ve done a lot of long descents but I only measure fun so no idea what they measure in at

up and down llanberis might be enough if its your first time – no need for pads or full face in my view – nor gears or suspension for that matter

I’ve done it on 3 different bikes and its always fun :D

    @ shedfull

I’m almost certainly doing the Canal du midi this summer – I wonder if you had any general tips

I’m guessing it generally pre3tty easy to navigate and cycle – my concern is which is the best way to get there – train via Paris? Flight?

Any help would be very welcome

    Thanks Plum
