Ride the steps of doom – binners will show you how :D
    Do a bivvy night
    Do some cycle touring
Hold a women only bike tour of Ramsbottom with/without pub stops
Get totally smashed in the Lounge – near morrisons then go for a night ride (I used to do this a lot)
    Buy a single speed

Of the places I have ridden

Fernie – resort – nothing special – off piste some of the hardest riding I’ve ever done – I wouldn’t be able to find it again without a guide though

Canmore – Banff – goat trail at the back of 3 sisters – piss easy to ride but stunning scenery and well worth the afternoon it will take – single speedable :D

Outside Calgary – race of spades is a good jumpy/north shory ride in the woods – up lift required in my opinion

Calgary – bragg creek area – good general trial riding – like glentress blue but better scenery

Calgary – Bowness park – sublime single track if you can find it :D

Calgary – olympic park – supposed to be pretty good now

Calgary – lots of hidden steep almost impossible to ride chutes down to bow river – if you can see the cliffs about 400 ft high then thats them

Whistler – disappointing after all the hype

Nelson BC – fire road climbs promise not much but absolutely fantastic trails and pretty tricky too

Squamish – best 2 days riding that are not in italy – Brilliant

Kicking horse – pretty good uplifted resort – trails a bit bashed further up but play park stuff seems good year on year

I ride my SS rigid almost exclusively now – thats cos i have more fun on less demamding trails that I normally ride and have access too

That said I can and do ride it on other stuff too – it was good fun and quite a challenge mentally to ride it down Llannberis path last November in the snow

As I broke my front wheel on last Saturdays turbines ride this Weds I used my FS that only gets used in the Alps normally – it feels big/heavy but great in an entirely different way than the way I normally ride

I’m glad I have both but happier with my general trails to ride a rigid

Heavy Metal bands churning out the same old power chords. WHY?

quite possibly because there are only 12 choices, much the same as any other music

I find the interaction between melody and harmony is what makes a thing unique

DezB – like the chicks on speed track quite a lot but can’t see anything innovative in it – still the same TR box drums after 20 years?

Whether I like them or not I’d like to be amazed :D

By innovative I mean Eno or Wendy Carlos – ahead of their time

well it was a fantastic ride although only 2 of us attended

ended well with my buddy riding the ‘steps of crushed wheel’ taking a fair amount of skin off his arm and needing a cold beer to keep down the swelling

still yet to see anyone ride ’em

I think the peavey 30 would be equivalent to the old fender hot rod deluxe models

I had a hot deluxe after trying loads of others including the peavey

It was ok but only half useful when driven about 3/4 volume and then it would kill my ears

    sold it

Many years late I now have a blackstar HT-5 which is much better but still bloody loud – certainly more versatile

I’d stick some pedals in front of yours :-)

    make sure brakes work
    hands on hoods
    stay very loose
be ready to ‘hoist’/ unweight front wheel over roots if need be
look forward to where you’re going, not at roots

    works for me anyway
