As a former competitive swimmer where lane etiquette is in built I will typically be faster than everyone at any give stroke.

I have never been in a pool where other people have a good understanding of training.

On the down side it is impossible for me to enjoy being in a pool or water of any sort as my mind just turns to training mode, even after 40 odd years
