the guy was dumb, plain and simple. If he wasn’t smart enough to clarify the position, there’s no way I would even employ him as an office manager.

3 months into the job too. clearly not the sharpest tool…

or if not, try kaidomain.com which is a very similar business, and pretty much as good.

Graham, those figures are meaningless unless they’re stated across the same industry. I would imagine more young girls would work in different industries to young boys.

When you come to the likes of firms that offer graduate training schemes, I’m pretty sure you find equality with subsequent differences arising through performance or length of service in the role. Equally, I would say that it I took a year off for whatever reason, I wouldn’t expect to maintain salary parity with my peers who hadn’t.

As with mudshark, everywhere I’ve worked women have been equal earners before any time off.

In my current experience they’ve actually come back earning eqivalently more per hour than everyone else, as the “additional” hours you put in beyond contracted hours are not done any more as childcare etc has to be taken care of.

I agree absolutely with equality, but it should be exactly that. What I fear we’re entering is an era of positive discrimination, which I abhor.

even more so in the real world. i socialise with all sorts of people from different backgrounds with vastly different salaries, their paypacket has no bearing on me being mates with them, if anything it’s the ones who measure themselves in consuming and possessions that i’m less likely to want to socialise with. often it’s the ‘middle earners’ with aspirations who are the worst offenders. the lower and higher earners just want to get on and enjoy life instead of worrying what their neighbors think.

I agree Gary. We must go for another beer soon! 😆

Actually, joking aside, we probably should, even if it’s just to get Phil drunk again to chuckle at 24 year-old bravado!

He was an idiot for riding too close, your a **** danger for almost causing an accident!

I agree – locking back wheel with someone that close IS aggressive – a turn round and a chat about why that was not a great idea would have been better.

I’d already tried that twice, a polite turn, with a quick hand signal to suggest dropping back.

Indeed, but if so I hope it shows my caring, thoughtful side – I want her to enjoy it.

And if you are, hi, hope you’re having a good day. Oh, and the reference to the duck taping the kid is a lie. Everyone knows I would staple it’s hands together either side of the top tube – far less hassle.

No. Ok, maybe the dogging, but only if you bring a hottie that likes to play with others

I know it may limit the fun in making them, but the additional question that I’d ask is why would you want it in there? Sure, I know the physiological power / stamina effects, but that’s as much based on tolerance as anything else, so if you keep your tolerance high, you won’t get the same benefit as a ‘casual’ user.

Bollocks to the childseat stuff, as and when I’m just going to duck tape the kid to the top tube!

wouldn’t it be as easy, and a little bit more reliable (not to mention medically safer) just to get some pro-plus or ones from myprotein and just pop one of those with the non-caffiene bar? You know how much you’re getting then.

I don’t know whether they sell it, but myprotein sell lots of bulk powders and the like so they may do

the livestrong one is very good – I used it for a bit, but takes too long if you have to use the 3g network – if you’re wifi it’s a lot quicker so better.

    Ones I have are:

    ifooty
    shazam
    stanza
    ebay
    remote
    livestrong
    brain tuner
    where
    joost
    pangeavr
    trailguru

All the others i’ve tried have been pretty shite and come off the phone very soon after.

when my fox forks got scored by the headset it was probably about half a mil deep. I was happy riding them up to a point, but once I realised it was continuing to grow, I binned the headset.

blimey fred, you really have used the swinley thing completely out of context – if you want to clarify my opinion on that, feel free to speak to CG. I’m still right about the clientele tho.

I haven’t come up with an alternative is because I’m going to Richmong Park instead, and will have a beer by the river after.

SS beer? Hmmm, I would rather chug bukkake leftovers than their vile flavoured stuff.

Plus, I tend to drink wine / whisky, both of which SS fails miserably on.

Then there’s the clientele. Most of them look like they actually did drink mead back in the day, with the only thing updated about them is their clothing. Most of which looks like they wore it on the picket lines of the miners strikes.

    hateful, hateful places.

uuurrgh, sam smiths place are just plain awful. Wouldn’t get me in one of them regardless of location or company.

719’s are bombproof. virtually identical to the very good 618’s.

    Aren’t they non-disc though?

717’s are plenty tough enough until you try and land with them at 90 degrees, at which point they just fold.

they make them in LUST? Awesome – never seen them stocked anywhere tho. 😥

    pk-ripper

maxxis advantage here too – very good tyres – but I’d want a LUST one (they don’t make them sadly) if I was riding rocks as the sidewalls are pretty thin, and they’re an absolute bugger to seat tubeless.

Grip wise though, best tyre I’ve used for woodland, hardpack, some slop.

just ask them to provide copies of all bills, and payment dates to give you an approximate idea, then just wander into your bank and ask them to look up payment amounts of…etc.

Alternatively just tell them to **** off, they’re the ones that have buggered it up. Ask them what reconciliations they have, as you know you have paid, so there should be credit balances in their system which they haven’t reconciled correctly. Then ask them about their accounting policies, and whether they, on the basis of what you’ve said, believe that their accounting policies are correctly disclosed.

Then tell them to **** off again, and to stop wasting your time, and that any time undertaken by you will be billed at an hourly rate of £48 per hour, commensurate with your employment rate.

I resprayed an old raleigh frame when I was about 15. I hung it up inside a washing machine box and climbed in there with it, and a couple of cans of hammerite.

Climbed out about 20mins later looking like a smurf, I’d completed the worlds shonkiest paint job, most of which fell off when I put the components back on.
