    I wasn’t aware of any general agreement. That may have been concluded by certain members in a particular thread, and perhaps even with a suggestion from stw towers that it is predominantly a mountain bike site, but ultimately it’s discretionary.

    ultimately on a motorcross / road motorbike forum side of things you’re likely to have a wider proliferation of technology and solutions. Realistically, it’s only the frames and wheels that differ to any extent between road and mountain bikes, gearing etc is vastly the same.

    Oh, and I don’t “occasionally” ride a road bike – 70-80% of my riding is road riding.

    might i suggest anger management forums then?

    oh blimey, they’re all dives in london bridge way.

    I suggest gordons at embankment, as bikes can be chained to the railings and we can stand outside.

    If I bring the bike in I’ll stay for a couple, if not I’ll probably nab a quick one and head home to watch hollyoaks on E4.

    why would you be likely to get a better answer on a road bike forum than here? Being as I ride and race road bikes, and I know plenty on here do as well, I would imagine we’ve come across 99% of issues with them.

    But if you want to niche yourself to purely a mountain biker, that’s your business I guess.

    I’d check the alignment of everything again, and that the chainline is spot on.

    Is is a continuous noise for the full revolution of the chainset? If so, you’ve probably put something on incorrectly. If it’s only a particular point of the revolution, then it’s the chainring / spider is misaligned or bent.

    Also might be worth checking you’ve put the correct spacing on the rear hub, as it may be dragging on the inside of the dropout if you haven’t.

    Oh, and Snaps, of course you can, but as a road rider as well, I’m happy to help on something like this, as clearly others are. Could you not respond on a grumpykid forum?

    Chilli peppers, U2, Killers.

    Quite how anyone can think Razorlight’s first album is a masterpiece is beyond me. A masterpiece in wasted plastic or download time.

    Oh, and the Manics Holy Bible is a stunning 3rd Album, and Send Away the Tigers ain’t half bad for an 8th studio album – most bands now would (and should) give their arse cheeks to be able to write and record something like that.

    For me I’d do:

    Borough Market for breakfast;
    Wander up to St Pauls to look around;
    Back across the wibbly bridge to Tate Modern;
    Dirty Pub lunch in the Horniman at Hays Galleria;
    London Dungeon;
    Zakudia for cocktails;
    Camden for a band.

    I say yes, for countries that have not been assessed to have an acceptable standard.

    What I say no to is the fact that many people are allowed to drive for a year before they have to pass a test, on the basis of them just having a licence. One of my colleagues from India did that – drove in the UK for a year (and was **** awful at it!), and then proceeded to fail his test 7 times.

    I’d suggest meeting halfway.

    That said, depends on the value of the item. If I was selling something of reasonable size, and it sold for a decent price, I might travel that far just to get shot of it.

    But as you’ve said, you clearly put to agree up front, so tell the guy to piss off and that you’re relisting / second chance offering it. Copy in ebay or whatever you need to do to avoid you getting the negative feedback.

    Then set up a fictitious account, from hotmail or something and bid stupid on this chaps next auction. Then delete all traces of that account.

    I thought XTR and dura-ace were pretty much the same?

    Anyways, the MTB standard is Shimano, RF, FSA are interchangeable. SRAM / truvativ are different.

    Road, I just use Hope Ceramics, which seem to be ok.

    The fact your mate is asking this question means he’s not ready for a relationship!

    I can assure you he is, he just wants to be sure about it as he genuinely wants to settle down with a great person.

    Switch every time, as waswas says. When you chose door 1 you had a 33% chance of being correct. Now you have a choice of 2, by switching you have a 50% chance of being correct.

    Besides, if you end up with the goat you can’t drive around but it’s regular sex at least.

    I honestly don’t know how you do it though Mark? I get up, shower, breakfast, dress, immaculate quiff perfection, and that’s 45 minutes if I hurry.

    I can’t physically leave the house within half-an-hour in the mornings, it’s just not hygienic.

    I’m part of a ‘collective’ that ride around London and Surrey a lot of the time. Mixture of all types of riding, but the skill level (of my riding buddies) is generally pretty high. And it’s more about the banter and having fun than putting the miles in.

    I have mine in my spare room, inside a locked flat, and locked together with a hefty cable lock. I just don’t think I’d ever trust leaving them in a shed, so they’d pretty much always be in a house or a garage that I’d have constructed like fort knox.

    ah, but it’s a want, and not a need to change.

    I’ve bought a thomson stem to replace the spesh one, to drop the front end slightly, it has crank brothers pedals, which I’ve used before and hate, it has brown grips so they have to be swapped to black, and i like the ride feel of tubeless.

    Sometimes I feel like I’m singlehandedly supporting the economy… :mrgreen:

    in my defence, there’s a couple of bits I want to change on it (stem, tubeless, pedals, grips etc), I just rode the ti hardtail instead while I get around to doing it!

    But, with an impending work trip, I think mid to end of march will be first ride!

    babel was crap again. 11.5 million of one trick pony. And a pretty rubbish trick at that.

    I would love to see Kenwyne Jones or Amr Zaki playing off Torres, with Gerrard supporting in front of masch and alonso. That would be a lot of goals, and a hell of a threat to defences everywhere.

    get changed outside the car once the ride is done. Muddy clothes in a bag, I’m clean and dry.

    And then switch the heated seats on for the drive home. Sweeeeeet…
