Sorry Anthony, can’t make it this weekend. I was out last night and there were some bits that could be interesting on the day.

Will definitely try and make it to another dig day soon though.

book loads of separate tickets. go from manchester to birmingham, then birmingham to cheltenham, cheltenham to bristol, bristol to exeter.

just on bristol to manchester that saved me £45 last week. (£118 open return down to £73). it’s perfectly legit as long as your train stops at those stations. you don’t have to get off or anything.

i should note that i don’t have enough room for more than one (more) bike so it’s either a £50 pile of junk or a shiny road bike…

yup, the brace is more square edged like on fox forks. don’t know why you’d want to rebadge it though, unless you’re sponsored in which case you wouldn’t ride a pitch and have lyrics/totems anyway…

marzocchi should be marz-oc-chi surely, or mar-zoc-chi at least if my gcse in italian hasn’t failed me. two consonants together are said separately in italian.

bah. i tried this exact method on sunday and couldn’t get the tyres to seat at all. 2.35″ kenda bluegroove on on-one reetard rims. did you just use a track pump or did you have a compressor?

they sent me the wrong tyre this morning. phoned them up and they answered in three rings and now i’ve ordered the correct tyre and am sending the other one back for a refund and they’re going to refund the postage. all seemed fair enough to me, mistakes happen and all that.

Thats_not_my_name – where can you get the twin six jerseys in the UK? A quick google didn’t throw up any obvious sources.

Straitlines. No bearings to wear out (they use bushings instead)

While i don’t disagree that straitlines might be be the best choice – surely bushings will wear just as quickly, if not quicker, than bearings?

one of the bonuses of using Nikon over Canon is that you can use any lens from the 1960’s onwards on pretty much every DSLR except some base models (ie. the D40).

Might well be true, but you’ll not get any focussing/aperture selection function from the camera. All Canon EF mount lenses work with all Canon EOS cameras and are electronic. Think they go back to the mid 80s.

I ride mostly all mountain with a teeny tiny bit of freeride lol

just out of interest, how did you come to that conclusion? what does it mean?

it is to do with the pump. Think about it, say the neg air chamber is 1 cubic centimetre in volume, you pump that up to 150 psi take pump off. reattach pump with chamber volume 2 cubic centimetres and initial pressure same as atmospheric, pressure from neg air chamber equalizes with that in pump and you’re left with 50 psi overall.

I’ve just checked and i’m losing neg air pressure. I pump it up to 150psi and 5 mins. later it’s at 50 psi. These are going back for an exchange.

Most likely they aren’t leaking air – it’s just the negative air chamber is so small when you attach the pump the air fills the pump space and you get a much lower pressure reading. It’s says that much in the manual as well.
