i think take the package. everywhere i know that has accepted voluntary redundancies has gone on to make enforced redundancies a few months later with far far worse terms. those who went first got the biggest payout.

i wouldn’t have thought rest bay was ideal for SUP, in fact i can think of about 10 better places not too far from there!

Drinks and a round of pool at Browns in Shoreditch High Street?

might not be thinking of the same browns, but you’d get change from a tenner in the one i thinking about.(although that does depend on how long you stay in there)

what is there to inspect? surely if you send them a photo it’s proof enough that it’s a write off! shouldn’t it be at a scrap heap not a garage too?

Correcting the completely useless ones is!

I hardly drive anywhere these days, however it shocks me how tedious and slow travelling is when I do drive.

I blame stupid people who are unduly hesitant and slow when it’s completely safe to travel just a little bit quicker (so as not to pxss everybody else off). Ban them all!!

I tend to make my journeys very late at night when “numpty” is tucked up in bed. You then only have to watch out for deer and rabbits.

correcting the completely stupid drivers does not mean building more roads though!

building more roads is never a solution.

depends how how much your life is blighted by hoards of traffic I suppose.

Take Silverstone and it’s neighbour Syresham for example, the dualled A43 means that these wee villages effectively cut in two are whole again, and as it’s been designed with the GP in mind, you can still mostly go about your life, even during the GP weekend. Quality of life massively improved…by building a new road…

yeah, a very short sighted solution though. it would be better to encourage more people to travel to the gp by other means and will be pointless from next year if the gp is no longer held there!

I can almost smell the irony to this thread!

ah bugger, must have forgotten to turn the iron off before leaving for work!

there are some people near me who put cones out in front of their house (2 houses out of 50 in the street). i take great pleasure in running over the cones with my £250 renault clio and leaving my car in the space. everyone else has to put up with not being able to park outside their house, so why can’t they?

My work didn’t charge me anything, and i don’t work there anymore but still have the bike. I wouldn’t worry about the taxable benefit aspect as i think there’s a tacit understanding at HMRC that cyclescheme can have low final purchase values, obviously they can’t change the rules for one thing, but they can chose not to scrutinise it.

nah, a pentaclip is the thing you need if you want to attach a non standard saddle.

i remember seeing one of the last shows they did at biggin hill. The afterburner on takeoff actually melted the end of the runway, they had to do some repairs before anyone else could take off.

i really don’t like the top tubes on those. looks like the tt from their road bikes too, which would seriously put me off buying.

conversely i’d go up a size. i’ve got a pair of dhb shorts in m and am the same dimensions as you IHN. They fit fine round the waist and in length but the leg grippers are horrendously tight, can’t wear them for more than about 10 minutes without feeling like my legs are going to fall off from restricted blood supply.

    CARVER……………… ;0)

Did also cross my mind as an attractive proposition, however can i get one built up (single speed or not) for £1300 notes and get it through cyclescheme?

i presume it’ll go on my immigration record so if i want to go there again they might refuse a visa (seeing as my girlfriend is half australian i might well go back), also i imagine they’ll up the fine and pass it on to an international debt collection agency.

Mr A this is the best one I saw when I was there. There was also a tv advert that said “don’t be a bloody idiot and speed”.

I’m in no way saying I shouldn’t have been done for it, just that 6kph over the limit seems like a very small margin of error for their measuring equipment and a hire car speedo. as said, i’ve paid up and accepted the fact.

Sunday didn’t dry quite so well as Saturday from the reports then – the lower quarry trail turned into a right clagfest (not as bad as mayhem though i think). I did have to stop to clear out my forks a few times. Think it’s probably my fault for running a 2.35 blue groove up front which have about 5mm clearance from the brace of my rebas… The home made beef curtain certainly didn’t help with that either.

Ant, i can confirm that the bristol trails group will have a lot of work on their hands! the lower quarry trail especially didn’t hold up very well.

    pjt201

don’t do it! i fitted one of these for the bristol bike fest as it was looking wet. had to cut it of after my second lap as due to the claggy mud (sunday) it was just collecting loads of mud and fouling up my front wheel. might have had something to do with my blue groove being at the limit of size for my rebas too though…

The Guardian today were playing down Millibands chances of being next PM, I think he’s the best man for the job personally. I still don’t think Brown is dead and burried just yet though.

I agree that Milliband (Ed, not David) is the best person for the job, which is why he’s better off not following Brown. Anyone who comes in now is just going to get defeated. Either of the Millibands would do better to let that happen and then give Labour a chance to regroup for 2014/15 after Cameron has c*cked the country up (i’m resigned to the fact that at the next general election the tories will win, there’s absolutely nothing labour can do to stop this now).

Are you sure you don’t go under it after the zig zag climb and over it on the way down…?

Yep you do, which means there’s a rather large tree about 1 foot from the bottom of the ramp on the upside (which is clearly the upside as the other side has a 6″ step at the top of the ramp which would be almost impossible to ride up!)

    pjt201
    Free Member

it could still be pretty tricky. It’s a scaffold ramp that’s probably about 1:4(ish) which with a run up and some momentum i could easily clear, but as there’s no run up whatsoever it’s a bit more tricky. What’s the point in even entering a race if you’re not going to win?
