I think i agree with mount dora cycles actually. you attach the stem to the forks, therefore the stem is on backwards (or turned 180 degrees from it's proper position) rather than the forks backwards.

Does he foot the bill himself or does it come from the public purse somehow?

Afaik his security is still paid for by the public. I remember a recent interview with major where he said he still has a special branch escort everywhere he goes.

RE: children dying – we all die one day, why worry about it so much? (this doesn't mean that I don't believe in climate change, just that there are other ways to think about it – does it matter if the human race no longer exists?)

i was wondering this just last night. I went with the merstons – if you check out the reviews on wiggle they seem better. Although mine will be for wearing on their own so not the same as under baggies.

It's not that special in terms of belgian beers other than being in a fancy glass. It's 8.5% too…

I'm a bigger fan of lambic beers or gueuze for something interesting.

If you want to volunteer to maintain cycle paths get in touch with Sustrans if it's on the national cycle network. Their rangers undertake this kind of thing.

Plus Chris King says he won't make them as he believes it's an inherently flawed design.

Inherently flawed like his normal headset design?

what's the problem with integrated headsets? built in seat masts I don't like.

no, i'm saying if he says he's not in it for the money:

He wants to be back in F1 in 2011 but with all the money he has earned he doesn't want to go in a medium-type team for money

why does it matter what maclaren were offering him?!?

apparently they have charted the rise of badger populations by the increase of carcases found on roads. Even with the increase in traffic accounted for it is still a rising population.

infesticons/majesticons/third album in the series that hasn't materialised yet (still waiting) is all quite good. Saw him live in cardiff quite a few years ago and he was pretty good.

I agree with brakes. Only do it at traffic lights if you can do it without rocking backwards and forwards like a loon.

no idea about the black chili or not-ness of rubber queens, but does anyone else only get 10-12 rides out of a pair of tyres?!?!

    Joxster – Member
Wear – Has been good so far, I normally get 10-12 rides out of a tyre, I've been getting 20.

I'm a platelet donor. It's really pretty straightforward. You have to go to a regional centre to donate where they do the same finger prick test to check for anaemia and then they stick a similar sized needle into your arm as for donating whole blood but it's connected to a cell separator machine which alternatly draws and returns blood to your arm while separating the platelets out. It does feel a bit weird the first couple of times but you get used to it! You can eat/drink/read/make phone calls etc while donating which normally takes me a little over an hour. You are asked to donate once every four weeks as platelets regenerate a lot faster than red blood cells.

Mr A, I can ask about but I doubt there would be any official support for it. I have put in a few planning apps myself and would probably be able to help out in preparing them in my spare time though. Could also stick together some drawings if required. Not sure exactly what regs they would require planning under though – earthworks aren't generally classified as a structure on private land like that. Will have a look into it when i get a chance.

i make my own "energy" drink for most rides. a 750ml bottle of squash at about 4:1 mix with a quarter teaspoon of salt in it, makes me feel less dehydrated after than if i just drink water.

depends on the banks. some of them now have an agreement to clear electronic transfers in 2hrs, others that aren't part of the agreement stick to the normal 3 days.

I wasn't complaining, i've given up on that a long time ago. Made riding my bike more angry than fun. I now have a bemused grin on my face when riding in traffic normally pondering what the great hurry that every one seems to be in is for, especially since i can normally beat most cars up the 1.5 mile stretch of gloucester road i ride up on my way home.

Was just in an odd mood this morning and thought i'd ask the chap a polite question!

Hmm, maybe the mallet wielding is a good idea. It needs nails through the head to work really though, which could prove dangerous down at the deaner.

I'm pretty sure the UCI rules apply to all track, road and cyclocross bikes used in their races.

It's no different to road cycling. Emma Pooley is only 7st 10lbs or something and has to ride a bike with the same weight limit as Jens Voight who's 12st something (about the heaviest pro I can think of at the moment!).
