i don't think there's anything dodgy about it! they are quite clear about what they are doing and you have multiple opportunities to review the total cost of your order (and therefore notice you are being charged for postage) and remove the paid for postage if you see fit. if people are ignorant enough just to click the buy button without looking at the total cost of the order then they deserve to be charged for postage! it's not like they hide the fact you can select different postage options.

yes, it quite clearly tells you though! i can't believe people complain about this, they've only got themselves to blame for not checking before hitting the order button.

amazon do the same with first class postage and super saver.

there's something seriously wrong at the moment about sentancing dangerous drivers. an 18 mth ban is in itself pitiful and a suspended sentance meaningless. so what if the baby is born in holloway prison, she shouldn't have hit a cyclist and she definitely shouldn't have fled the scene.

lifetime bans from driving are available to judges but not used enough imo.

they can't sell them off at that price though – they'd flood the market and significantly reduce the value of the shares. also as said above who would buy them?!?

against press fit as it means buying more things – new bb at least, if not new cranks as my fifteen g chainset won't fit.

i'm more interested in the whippet, but the press fit bb and direct mout front mech kind of put me off.

Ripstop Nylon we'd need about £6 worth per bag. even available in purple clubber.

weight is an issue, as it's got to be carried on the bike afterwards.

ant, this is the homemade one. should be able to track down the fabric pretty easy. Nouveau was saying that Leon has two that he has made.

They serve Bierre Moretti on the campsite in Finale Ligure.

Nice, i'm doing the 24h this year.

If that's when you went i've got a quick question about camping there if you've got a minute? We're arriving (by train) on the Thursday morning before the race, do you know when you're allowed to pitch up at the race site (and also when you have to leave)? Or do you have to book a pitch at the campsite there? I've tried looking on the race website, but can find no info at all on it that's useful and i've emailed the organisers, but not sure if they understood my google translate email…

is that £700 return? i think i paid about £350 the other year. the Brittany ferries to Santander one is much cheaper (and faster) than the P&O one to Bilbao too. The ferry (pont aven as noted above) is pretty nice, the food very good, the evening entertainment is a bit like being in butlins in the fifties though, but i'm sure the kids will love it.

an airzound would ruin the lines of my bike though! 😉

even then i'm sure there are drivers who would be pissed off with that.

i'm well aware of that! i wasn't going out of my way to piss the driver off or looking for a fight, it was bought to me. will revise how i use that junction in future though.

yeah, i agree with coffeeking, slapping was only meant to tell her i was there so she would stop pulling in towards me which she did. it was undoubtedly what made her do what she did afterwards, so in that respect wasn't very good. but then if that happened in a car (if there were two lanes and someone was veering) then you would use your horn (which as discussed on here the other day is the right use of the horn), but then you have no such luxury on a bike – what use is a bell!?!

she didn't notice the damage when i was there, which was one reason i was happy to stay calm and leave her to be angry…

i wasn't "owning the lane" (which i normally try to do) as the lights were red when i came up behind the queue of traffic. i had overtaken the mini and then been re-overtaken when she pulled across me so should have been aware that i was there!

basspine is right, i probably should have reported to the police but didn't think to get her reg at the time. i was more concerned with avoiding an argument as i really couldn't see the point. she obviously wasn't going to admit she'd done anything wrong. she even pushed me at one point.

when she squeezed past me forcing me over i was still in an advisory cycle lane, it was in the lead up to the lights. granted when i hit her i was probably too close, but then i could see ahead and there was nothing in front of her…

this woman was proper having a go at me, so i just rode off. couldn't be bothered to argue really! she wouldn't have listened anyway.

as someone above said in civil law they can only claim for consequential loss. £90 is more than the consequential loss would amount to. infact i'm pretty sure that if you could demonstrate there are always empty spaces in their car park you could argue, in court, successfully that their consequential losses are nil.
