I’m not going to say yes or no, that’s your decision, but if you decide to, would a pillion pal (belt with handles that the rider wears) help?

Hi, it is a dedicated sub o/p, things don’t go back to normal with the sub unplugged.

Fitted a dh supertacky minion, no issues mounting tubeless, it’s a 2.5″ width, but doesn’t look any wider than the 2.35 MM to me. gripped well at stile cop on Tuesday and didn’t explode when landing from the bottom black drop or the table top on ridge run.

“On the subject of trackdays, years ago I knocked 6 seconds off my Oulton Park average by getting fit again.
I used to be knackered after 2 laps when the tyres were up to temp, got fit/strong and I could do full sessions easily”

The reason I got into (push) bikes was to improve my fitness for endurance racing motorbikes, started with a £35 road bike and over the years have accumulated 2 road bikes a T130 trail bike and a DH bike, but unlike the OP (who I think I’ve met at Cadwell years ago) I wasn’t bright enough to give up motorbike racing and trackdays, so now I’ve got 2 expensive hobbies, genius!

Another vote for Black forest. We had 2 weeks there last summer stayed just outside a town called Schomberg, and there was some decent road rides and Bad Wildbad bike park is only a few miles away.

Piston arrived from Taiwan this afternoon, swapped it with the original in about 20mins, will refit to bike and bleed tomorrow, but everything certainly feels good.

Mrmoofo, I still think it’s a great bike and up til now hasn’t missed a beat, just seem to have everything happen at once!

Mine (2017 T130c-works) seems to be falling to bits at the moment, upper headset bearing failed, replaced both with Hope.

Maxle seized in front wheel, ended up chopping it out with junior hacksaw and replacing with new style one and now the front brake has the seized master cylinder piston issue, just awaiting replacement piston,  sounds like I don’t maintain the bike very well but that’s really not the case, good job I’m lucky enough to have a DH bike to play on too!

This has also affected mine (Rsc with S4 caliper), ordered the same part as Leonthepro after first striping it down and slightly sanding the piston, but got impatient with one of the seals and damaged it whilst removing it, so hopefully the new piston will sort it quickly.

Lbs have ordered me in the bearings, but wrong ones came, so waiting on correct bearings to come from Hope.

I’ve got a Whyte T130C works (excellent bike), but in the spirit of not recommending what I ride, how about Mondraker Foxy, they seem light/climb well for a bike with 150mm travel.

Mother in law went to Hurgarda a few months ago with no issues, but for my money there’s plenty of other places to go, I may be over-sensitive due to my mate being there when it kicked off in Tunisia, didn’t sound like a lot of fun!

I remember the first time I saw the Fall, MES shambled onto stage clutch a carrier bag (no idea what was in it) and then proceeded to be awesome. Cruisers Creek was one of the anthems of my youth.

    Top man Bazzer.

GQ,yes I have tried Carole Nash and am having the same issue with them regarding the value, but as I’m already a customer of theirs (road bike) they are contacting the underwriter to see if they’ll except me on a multibike policy, if not looks like I’ll have to insure for a year and cancel as soon as I’ve run it in.

Bazzer Tuono for road and Rsv4 for race?

    pjm7

Appreciate the replies all, to answer: I’ve tried Bennets and Mustard and they were a no (the cost of the bike seems just over a lot of underwriters limit).

I’m only planning one race so far this year (No limits endurance at Donno in May, done full time championships for past 4 years and only want to play at it now).

The thing is with race teams running them hard from the off, is they’re constantly refreshing them, my last Rsv4 had 11K track miles with no issues, so even if I loose a couple of bhp, I figure the reliability is worth it.

I have spoken to John Trigger today , regarding running in on the dyno and he did comment on how good the materials and tolerances are these days, he did also say that I’d be better running in on the road………

Thanks both, yes I think there’s a funicular and also a t-bar that drags you uphill on the bike. MSP, it will be part of a trip rather than the main reason, we’ll take camper van with motorbike and road and Mtb.
The long rock garden on the dh looks interesting!

    Big day!!!!!!

I was really pleased when my V5 confirming camper van status was waiting for me on the doorstep, just after driving back from Snetterton after winning the first race of the year (motorbikes) and sailing through the average speed cameras on the A14 at about 70, obviously if the dvla hadn’t changed the van’s status in time, I’d have got fine/points!
Van conversions are great aren’t they, we’ve been all over UK and Alps, Pyranees, got pulled over by customs last year and he looked in the back and said “oh, that’s not what I was expecting”, ours has a garage area containing a motorbike, 3 pushbikes and a load of kit, we do only just scrape the weight limit when fully loaded.

I’m guilty of this, when riding very quiet country lanes, I tend to use my ears a lot to determine if there’s anything coming at a t-junction (I do always look before pulling out), I think I will need to change this practice as electric cars get more popular.

I just fitted MM front/rear to my DH bike (27mm internal rim) and noticed the 2.35 came up narrower than on my trail bike (30mm internal), I assumed this was due to the different wheel widths rather than the tyre size changing, was I wrong?

Wife’s just changed her 1.5 glx Swift for a Corsa Vxr (even less grown up than the Fiesta, but great fun and not overly harsh unless you fit the performance pack), the Swift as a couple of folk have mentioned is a great car, we owned ours for 9 years from new did 90K and in all that time apart from consumables, the only thing I had to do was replace the handbrake actuator in one of the rear drums, started first time every time and never let us down, cheap to own/run not so much power but decent handling with great (better than the corsa) feedback from the from wheels. New version of the sport comes out 2018 I believe.

Probably should have done, but didn’t, hopefully won’t happen again, but if it does I’ll try to be a bit clearer thinking, but if I’m honest I was a bit shaken up with having something that big more than close to me.

I was thrilled day before yesterday at being run of the road by a tractor when out on my road bike, his trailer hit my shoulder and as I was already on the last 8″ of tarmac I very quickly ended up on the dirt but managed to stay upright (whilst turning the air blue). I can’t understand why the tractor driver wouldn’t run a few inches on the grass (no ditch or camber/slope), I assume he simply didn’t care.

You mentioned Fiesta ST, my wife’s just changed cars (had the last one 9 years from new) and considered the Fiesta but didn’t like it for various random reasons and ended up with Corsa Vxr, which is great to drive and not as common as the ford as the reviews on the net are not quite so good. The boot seems really impressive for a small car, but if load carrying is key you may well be better of with the Focus or something of a similar size.

Weeksy, that bike you photographed looks a weapon!
Think I might have met you many years ago at Mallory?
Myself, I’ve got Rsv4 race bike (won championship and came 2nd a couple of times on it) and a Bmw K1300s for the road.

Pop over the water to Carnac, theres fields full of them.

They may not be as big as the stones at Avebury/Stonehenge, but I’ve never seen so many in one place before! Wen’t to Men-an-tol in Cornwall 2 weeks ago, very cool.

Looking at changing the wife’s car (she’s had it for 9 years) and so far I’m totally underwhelmed with the dealers, almost to the point of keeping the car another year.

Happy to pay for quality, I did take the bearings out today and cleaned, which did improve but not completely sort the top one.
