"Must be some truth in the tale as Hilter was treated for shrapnel wounds to his legs, unfortunately they knew how to build table legs in those days !! Bet he still Sh@t himself though."

They replaced his legs with table legs?! – that's amazing!

i watch these on my iPhone when the TV's crap – which is a lot.

this is david blaine being surprisingly watchable!

17 mins by the way. (after O2)

"But my guess you'll play with it for a couple of weeks, and then it will become a really expensive paperweight."

Wow – I bet you're WAY out on that! – those that buy it will use it loads.

I have an old macbook that gets used after work from 9 – 12pm every night for casual browsing, email, facebook etc – the battery's had it and it burns your legs. for us the iPad would be something that quietly gets used a LOT!

i must admit it made me look at my iPhone and think, wow, it's a mini iPad but with a camera!

i think iPhone uses find themselves picking up and using their iPhone a lot which gives the illusion of a bad battery – i'm not sure it's stellar, but I think the consensus is that all the smartphones are about the same.

I want something that is a pain to browse on (no mouse)

a mouse is not the ultimate solution for browsing – i think the demo shows its a very useful browsing environment

a pain to type on (no keyboard)

well, the iphone keyboard with auto correction is really pretty good – Jobs said about the physical keyboard – if you have to write 'war and piece'…

can only connect to what apple want me to connect to

    um, what?

and can only run what apple want me to run

apart from the 120,000 apps, what is it you need?

and is bigger than an iphone but with the functionality of an itouch.

bigger is good, screen wise, yes?

and is a wee bit delicate

the unibody construction would suggest it will be pretty strong – when you used it, what felt delicate about it – I'm intrigued?

luked2 – but they basically approve everything except extreme religious stuff or porn – they even approve VOIP stuff now! – I for one am happy the apps are tested. and they approve stuff in a couple of weeks max – and the developers are happy with the 70:30% split

    this is funny…

i think the dollar-pound conversion will be pretty upsetting.

i also think when the developers get hold of it, it'll get really interesting.
shame about the front facing camera – 30 pin plug in camera that can point both ways maybe?

of course you can see STW on it – and the forum! as you can on an iPhone. you can go on any website except those that are totally flash.

footflap – what are you going on about with your "Apple Approved (R) web sites can be browsed" – total bollox!

pretty annoying that they won't put flash support on it tho. they're trying to kill flash – can't see it working.
If sites like bbc start using quicktime or something instead of flash video, maybe they'll succeed

and will-of-f… there's load of free apps on the app store so what's the problem?

well barnsleymitch – i'm sure you know plenty more about this than me – and i'm happy to shut up and drink my wine and watch billy fuc&ing piper. – i haven't read the whole thread. i would reiterate that a balanced, intelligent view point is, while uninteresting, the best place to be.

good luck for the victim's recovery.

barnsleymitch – we're probably agreeing to the greater extent. i'm sure these kids need help (they're severely damaged) – i just think all the efforts – the attention – should be for the victims.

anyone genuinely suggesting the death sentence should shut up – be ashamed etc.

but wow!.. i can't bare to think of my kids hurt like this.

again – it's a balance – a few 'normal' scraps are going to happen. i'll deal with that!

i have a design agency by the way – as you asked

TJ – i don't buy it. People who commit crimes know it's 'wrong' – morally unacceptable. but they're happy to step over the line – to varying degrees. surely no-one thinks a rapist believes it's the 'right' thing to do?!

children can be nasty but they don't take it to extremes. not normal children. incidents like this and the jamie bulger case are very rare because most kids are simply not capable of this.

all the angry nonsense press from the mail etc poisons – makes people believe there's bombers on every plane, pedophiles in every school – and murderous kids on every corner. it's not reality

and by the way – my 5 year old ABSOLUTELY knows right from wrong. All 10 year olds do – irrespective of upbringing.

as usual – the middle ground is – unexciting – but the correct position. obviously, stringing them up is nuts. but all this overly fashionable left wing pc nonsense drives me nuts!

and mogrim – i have kids and all i can think about is the actual victims. the poor kids that were tortured.

spending any amount of time talking about these kids (perpetrators) – is a waste.

i can't believe that dragging two windows, one to each side where they fill up each half is a feature worth advertising! irrespective of macosX exposé… it's just nothing!

Maybe they should have gone with "sorry about vista, but this one's ok!"

do you mean 'vapourware'? – that suggests apple don't bring stuff out. or that they announce stuff and then never release it.

that's kinda opposite to what they do. they tend to keep stuff secret then announce-release as fast as possible.

i think (from rumours) that apple are doing more than putting an OS on a big iPod touch. like the next big step in personal computers – a whole new interface beyond touch. could be very interesting. i'm just hoping for touch gestures to be expanded on – pinching is nice and intuitive but more would be great.

incidentally, the rumours are coming from apple. quite clever how they get as much PR as all the companies at CES show on a product that is not released!

if Shu-maker's negotiated a better car than Rosberg, he may do well. Can't imagine him being any faster in the same car. bound to have lost a bit of sharpness!

Can't wait to see the Button / Hamilton thing too. Can't see Button winning too many but fair play for him taking up the challenge.

Not convinced Alonso will beat Massi as a lot expect either – seems like not many people can drive that Ferrari! (their own test driver, Fissi etc)

    should be good

I am simply saying that ALL music is important – none deserves more adulation than other, irrespective of what anyone thinks about a particular genre or reason for creating that music, if it is enjoyed by a single person then it is as important as the next piece of music.

What PC nonsense that is. So Radiohead have no more musical worth than Bewitched? Because someone, somewhere like Bewitched! People that drag that argument out usually don't love music too much. "Yes Paul, but it's subjective isn't?" Bah, there IS good and bad music. Music lovers would agree.

well, not DAB – but internet radio through the iPhone is easy. Get a dock that's shielded / 'works with iPhone' should do it. You don't want it going into plane mode.

The world IS round because all the evidence makes it a fact.

A plane hit the pentagon because you were told it did despite the distinct lack of evidence to support it.

    🙂

    BiggDummy y' say?

No plane hit the Pentagon though did it? I mean, really?!.. the early pictures show basically no damage – no plane, no hole. Where did it go?

You don't have to believe the whole conspiracy to notice that it doesn't quite add up. And then you have to think 'if there's some fibs, what else?'
