I have had 35mm Paselas on my commuter/tourer/gravel bike for the last couple of years, one puncture I think, recommended.

Nothing wrong with white rice, pasta, potatoes etc.

No need to count calories, just eat good stuff and exercise :D

Foxes are pests as they kill farm animals, chickens, lambs etc

So what environment did we introduce these farm animals into? Ah yes, the one where the foxes naturally occur.

I bet you’re all for persecuting birds of prey too?

Be very (VERY) careful not to dig a fingernail into the neoprene when trying it on. Swimming wetsuits can be super fragile (though happily, easily repaired)

I had my joystick mounted under the bars, looks neater, no issues.

Friend had a Race mounted underneath too.

Velo Orange have a few options, as do Nitto (M18 etc)

To dig up an old topic, the thread on my preload adjuster just shat itself.

Any ideas where to get a replacement rear R.A.T axle sharpish? I have emailed Primera sports in hope.

    Cheers.

Pull the QR adaptors off the axle, then push the other adaptors (in your hand) on to the axle.

Has anyone got any handy tips for insulating and lining a hightop roof?

Seems to be a lack of information online for this.

Got a C17 on my tourer/commuter and a C15 on my road bike.

No complaints and no squeaks, would recommend.

I am about to embark on my own van journey, hopefully with a lwb Vivaro/trafic, I am looking forward to it!

Mine gummed up a bit on the rear, needed a set of pliers to loosen off.

I took it apart and greased it all up. No worries.

    Hammy knows.

Spent two years travelling around the world in hot, humid places and the Boxerjocks where by far the best.

I now have a drawer full of them.

Pedals don’t EVER come loose unless they aren’t fitted properly.

Not true in my experience, a couple of years ago I had a set of Straitline pedals that just would not stay tight.

I knew of two other (quite experienced DH riders) who also had this with their Straitlines.

Every other set of pedals I’ve used (Eastons, DMR’s, Shimanos etc) have all been fine.

I am currently in Australia travelling, got any pics of your neice? (sorry)

Serious answer, if she likes to read, maybe a kindle?

My work got me one as a leaving present and its very good indeed.

Or one of those phone USB chargers as others have said, use mine all the time.

I have now put about 500 miles on the Challenge Strada Biancas, mostly road, though recently taken on some fireroads and singletrack.

I like them, understandably limited offroad (they are still slicks afterall) but fast enough that I was able to cling on to a fast road ride with some mates.

Mostly riding around Sydney, but the last couple of days I have been up in the Blue Mountains around Katoomba.

I would like to try some Compass Barlow Pass though.

BB I’d be looking at the Compass and Grand Bois tyre ranges.

I have fitted some Strada Biancas and ridden 300km so far, quite happy with them as I’m mostly on the road at the moment, but would prefer more volume like you say.

I actually have a pair of Strada Bianca tyres sitting here, I just can’t bring myself to put them on a bike I know I will end up bouncing around off-road on!

I think I will order a pair of the Gravel Grinders, will let you know how they are, 38mm wide sounds like a great idea to me.

Anyone used or heard much about the Challenge Gravel grinder tyres? They look ideal and a bit tougher than the Open tub options:

    Good post, thanks.

I am hating being in Aus this year. I work early so can’t keep my eyes open past 9pm, frustrating!

I too will be watching from Aus, no idea how I am going to get to watch it though.

What times are the stages generally on? I’m in Sydney.

I’m on a working holiday in Australia, just bought a CX bike. I am now inspired to sort myself a travel toolkit.

I went for the toughest most reliable hub I could think of. Shimano XT…..

I thought you worked in a bike shop? I have seen more XT hubs with cracked/failed free hubs than any other hub (we also sold Hopes).

I would use Hopes over XT hubs any day.

Bearings are consumables, most manufacturers give 3 months warranty. Anything more is goodwill gesture.

Bearings wear out sometimes. Stop whinging, you have annoyed me on my tea break.

Arrived today, seems nice enough but not used it yet. Surfdome were a good price and have an extra 10% off at the moment.

Probably, but it will cause no issues, I’ve been using one with cheap cassettes, xt cassettes, sram pg990 and even singlespeed. It’s notched to **** but still works after 8 years.

    Just ride your bike :)
