I dont think theyre too bad, not compared to some of my friends Chameleons, those things are solid. The stiffest bike i’ve ever ridden is my Orange Msisle, so very, VERY stiff!!
I’m riding :D I’ll be on a pink cove stiffee. Rode the course yesterday and ripped a hole in a tubeless high roller (wasnt best pleased, its only had a weeks use :() everythings riding really nicely at the mo, lets hope the weather stays good.
Aye, dk reed would be who i was talking about, it didnt sound pleasant, i have ridden most of the dyfi descents and if they were dh routes i’d pad up and full face helmet, but as its on a XC course, i wont be.
The descents are AMAZING! fast and rocky, some have a nice covering of mud over the top to make things interesting :D I plan on riding like a complete idiot on the downhills.
The 2.35 lust high rollers are listed as being 42a, but theyre not, theyre 60a. I have both the supertacky “silkworm” highrollers and the lust highrollers and there is a massive difference in the compounds.
I know two people with push’d pikes, and more 4 or 5 without. They all seem happy with them, but the ones who are push’d seem very vocal about it. If i buy them from TF it’ll cost £40 to get them pushed straight away.
Climachx is mint! I’m the one in the vid that Chvck is following. the climbs arent too bad, and its worth it for the final descent. oh, and all those who say you cant spend a weekend there dont have the local knowledge ;) the Dyfi forest has some fantastic natural stuff, but its VERY easy to get disoriented in there, i’m lucky that some of the people i ride with know the place quite well.
eurgh! was meant to be getting the train to machynlleth (from aberysywth) and then ride back, no trains though :( and they couldnt fit us on the coach. GASH.
Ok then miketually, last weekend i was at nant yr arian, on the last descent back to the visitor centre (high as a kite) I came round a blind corner at a not inconsiderable speed to find three people in the middle of the trail. No accident happened because i reacted quick enough, the trail had a very obvious sign at the entrance saying it was a mtb trail. Would i have been to blame for a collision?? or them??
