Stung for the first time last week :( one hit me in the neck whilst going downhill and unbeknown to me fell down my jersey, stung right above the belly button. Not sure if it hurt more or less than i expected it to.

Coed y brenin's great, dont let some people put you off. People always go on about how "the trails used to be much better" but there are some absolutely mint rocky sections (especially on the tawr) and if theyve been sanitised then they must have been pretty fookin mental to start with! I have ridden there alot over the last year and enjoy it immensely every time.

I dont have a full sus, but i do have a stiffee ( ;) ) I think its safe to say you can do more on the stiffee. I ride street, dirt jump, downhill and ride all day XC on mine. The enduro will be easier to ride fast on properly rough downhills but thats about it tbh.

Bliiiimey, Im not unfit but i found W2 hard work!! By no means is it a beginner trail. How could you even suggest it to someone who (by their own admission) is a bit of a noob?

You can get Silver surface carbon fibre, exactly the same as normal carbon fibre but its silver. The only bike related place ive seen it before was the soles of roadie shoes.

Ok, my mistake ;) but W2's only 2k shorter!!

He said he's a noob, probs best not to do the longest and most challenging trail first time eh? Penhydds a great loop.

Errrrrr, i was under the impression heat increased the swelling? i guess that could just be in the early stages though.

If that fails you might be able to get a steel sleeve fitted, oooooor if youre using square taper cranks you can buy a BB that threads onto itself instead of the frame :D charlie the bike monger sells em.

Obviously these guys in the tour are fit and healthy (fittest and healthiest might be more apt) but is it doing them any long term damage?

I cant see why it wouldnt work? And you dont have to loosen the BB, i run a Gamut thats bb mounted and you just need to give it a bit of "persuasion" ;) Id like to know if it works because i think mech hanger mounted tensioners look fugly too :D

Royally kicked?! He's still third for christs sake! Not to be sniffed at by any account, merely finishing the tour is an impressive feat.
