Yup, I think I will get one, maybe two more chains out of my current drivetrain. Mechs looking beat and shifter is about 6 years old so all getting a bit tired!

Im in the happy position of getting stuff at trade price and I do enjoy shiny things.

At the moment Im swaying toward waiting as long as possible to see what new stuff is released. Bikes are getting like laptops/phones now, its out of date if its a year old!

Dont get me started on the road bike situation, thats got 11 speed and disc brakes to take into account!

Ooo I know that one! Took me a million runs to hit it with no brakes though, super frustrating.

    Yes, I was happy.

If its only a couple of mm, it will probably rub. Dont think the tyre will wear through first either!!!

The inside of the chainstays on my Cove Stiffee are down to the metal in places from running a 2.5 Conti Der Kaiser.

Dont go near the torch unless you want to be stopped/pushed away.

Its not a hard concept to grasp is it. Silly people 🙂

Lost my keys and phone on a ride recently (nightmare scenario) Found the keys on a fence-post which some friendly person had found, and the phone was found and posted back to me for nowt buy a random mountain biker.

    Faith restored.

Ok mines not as pronounced as yours, but it defo isnt in the middle, I remember being worried when I first got the frame. I got over it.

Pretty sure mine doesnt run perfectly in the middle, will get a photo for you….

Fitted a set in December and sadly havent used them properly, work/surfing has eaten into riding time, should be going upto Wales in the next couple of weekends, looking forward to testing them properly.

I can only confirm they are light and very bouncy at the moment.

Just got some 44’s, cant really comment yet tbh, but theyre certainly less bulky than Pikes, weigh a pound less! and look a bit spindlier too.

In my mind, they therefore cant be stiffer!

was probably using them slightly different to how most would on here

I would comment on this, but if you’re the Duane I think you are (mate of Steve Prices?) You’re probably right hahahaha.

Also, those are the older Pikes, which were known to be weak on the arch.

Initial tests suggest they are quite bouncy.

    My money pit:

    Love it to bits.

Once you get a good engine and sort out the rust – no worries!

Drove mine to University in Aberystwyth from Norfolk once. Best drive there Ive ever had.

I like em, as an all rounder theyre pretty much ideal, similar to High rollers I reckon, used High rollers for about 3 years and have been using a Rubber queen on the front, Race king on the back combo for XC for the last 2 years, been real impressed with the newer Conti stuff.

Tis indeed a 2012 one, still need some 15mm adaptors before I can fit them though 🙁 I thought I was able to be patient but its only been a day and Im already keen as ken to get them on the bike!!!

Ive got a source guaranteed hopefully 😉 Only 3mm longer axle to crown than the Pikes with 10mm more travel, Im awfully tempted!

Some of the bigger shops dont charge until the items dispatched, which is a better way of doing it.

I thought they were considerably better than a V8 copy….

Its only a bit of play, in the scheme of things, not the end of the world is it?

I sold mine as I was happy with my old Easton Flatboys.

Thats just how Straitlines are, its not ideal, but it gets to a point where it doesnt get any worse.

If you want a silent bike with no wibbly bits they arent for you. However, if you couldnt give a sausage about noise and want some grippy, bombproof pedals theyre pretty much perfect.

Yup, it hasnt been used for a while so fiddling around may improve it, and I’ll have a gander at taking the case off if it doesnt improve much.

Aaaaaand thats not Gok Wan, however it is a celebrity, anyone care to venture a guess??? 😀
