I’ve had all of these forks, the sectors great for the money, I had the top spec ones, they are very flex though. The sweep was a very good fork, not as plush as the pike at low speed, but just as good if not more supportive after half way through the travel. The pike is a great all round fork. The yari is what I run now at the moment, unquestionably stiffer than the pike and sweep, not very plush off the top but very supportive and a ridiculous amount of adjustment can be made. I’ve only had a very small carpark style go on 36s but they feel more quality than the lot from the moment you push them down. I’ve put an extra spacer in the yari and run less pressure to make them plusher. Worth noting that although they all feel different I had no noticeable improvement in riding performance between any of the sweep yari or pike.

Loomis dropped of a grands worth at the store on launch day. They are nice but crease easy and are so smooth they stick together perfectly, they also weight different on the cash counter machine. I’ve seen so many the novelty has worn off.

People need to be careful about chucking any shock on their bike. A lot of bikes are designed for an air shock and the linkages work accordingly, mine (ibis HD3) for instance with the dw link cannot be improved with a coil shock. Elevensix tried and failed to produce a tune for the HD3 that would improve performance. Before you point out the racer that runs an xfusion coil on his… he does so because of a bad back. I’d love to run a coil but wouldn’t get any benefit.

Ahh I was under the impression they only fitted the sram hubs, I’d like them for no other reason than to fit the drop outs properly.

Let all the air out first and the repeat above, same on all platform fox shocks

Been using 810 for the past year, it’s too wide. I’d say 780 is probably the sweet spot.

All of these above problems I can fix in 2 minutes tops. Netflix guy…. log into Netflix on a PC and click on terms and conditions and accept. The TV does have a script that allows you to do this so won’t work.

Pads are great and narrow wide chainring was very good too. Well worth the money which is 40% cheaper than the big brands.

I’ve got them, xts and deores they rank bottom, engagement is great, they disengage far to easy and at too small an angle, ideal for the gravel bike which is where I put them in the end, no good for mtb in my opinion unless it’s xc riding.

Same. mine went back today with this problem. Damper is a month old having only just been replaced. I’m selling the crap. They work amazing for two weeks then performance goes down every ride.

I was in a similar situation about 8 years ago, I went into a guitar shop with every intention of buying a Gibson Les Paul, I played a few top epiphone ultras, the gibson, then a top of the range Tokai, the Tokai blew every guitar in the shop out of the water. However as much as I loved the guitar it did bother me that it didn’t say Gibson on the neck. I sold it 2 years later and will always regret it.

If I were to have the budget you have, I’d go custom shop fender or PRS, something in tiger eye or elephant grey. You will want the name for that kind of money but IMHO a Gibson won’t have the quality or even be close. I’d spend 1500-2000 on the guitar and 1500 on a kick ass valve amp.

Crash test is spot on the chain growth is huge on a five and you can’t go big big + 2. You’ll have to suck it up and get a top chain device too because no matter how perfect you get that chain length even with a narrow wide you will still drop chains it just moves too much, it drove me crazy on my five.

Use the cornerstone razor too, but it is worth noting even though the blades are excellent and last a very long time, they are exactly the same blades used on Lidl and aldi own brand razors which cost 3 quid a pack.

I booked my trip solo to start off with (got company now) the flights were 170quid return including the bike and the hotel was 320quid which is cheaper than you’ll pay in fuel and tolls especially if not car sharing. I’d only drive if car sharing with a few friends.

My diverge should arrive tomorrow and although I love conti gp 4000 tyres I’m going to order a pair of compass jon bon 35c handmade slicks, the American gravellers are raving about them for both comfort and speed. They also do a 28c tyre. Quite pricy though.

Who cares what the pros ride. I think it’s great that bike manufacturers are making bikes for riders rather than racers now hence the new generation of stronger, slightly heavier, relaxed geometry bike with brakes that stop you and clearance for sensible size tyres.

Definitely not I tried getting one as a spare a while back and emailed loads of people but it’s discontinued production. Shame because it’s a cracking post.

It’s on cycle to work and using my lbs as they’re good, guess if it really pains me too much I can get it powercoated. Never seen a good looking modern silver bike though.

I love mine it does everything way better than I can. Only gripe for me is I don’t like the internal routing ports, but that’s it after nearly a year. The cane creek shock works great.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately and think a good idea would be to have a false wall so that upon entering the shed it looks empty. They will always get in but good old misdirection might be a better idea.

Twrch is running great, a little draggy with the mud but it’s one tough old climb it’s 95% open and running as before.
