I tried the i-beam and bel air combo , felt ok for the first couple of rides but by the third consecutive day my arse bones felt soooooooooo bruised . Was worth a try as i’d always liked the normal sdg bel air but i beams are not for me .

I bet they would Geoff , get down to your LBS where you bought it from and try !
What have you got to lose?

How old is your pitch pro Geoff? My gxp bb developed play within about 6months on my 2011 enduro and it was replaced by LBS with the sram gxp team bb , that lasted a couple of months . Back to LBS (Leisure lakes ) and had a “moan” and asked if they would do me a deal on a slx double & bb as i really didn’t want another sram one. They got in contact with specialized and they agreed to pay for a hope stainless bb and adaptors for gxp !! Worth a try if yours isn’t too old

Good work jedi , nice to hear people getting their bikes back . My bike was found thanks to a member on here seeing it on ebay and dropping me an email ! Didn’t get it back in the end as the insurance company had given me a nice payout 🙂
Still wish i’d got it back though ….

I have what i deem to be knackered 09 revelation coils , worn stanchion and bushes excessive play , would it be worth sending them to tf tuned or loco tuning to see if they’re repairable?

Came up with the idea of wrapping the chest mount round my camelbak facing backwards

+1 for penmachno , superb trail and very wild feel ! You’ll not see a single tracksuited , football shirt wearing tesco bike rider there 🙂 Llandegla on the other hand . . . .

Coed y brenin is one of my favourite places as you can mix up the mbr / dragons back to make a fun day’s riding .

Try fitting them to a non girder like frame, even more difficult !!! I’ve managed to use the helmet mount strap in a few places on the frame using the angle arms . Or use interior mirror pads for cars instead of the standard sticky pads . .

Stephen Kings – It , watched with friends during the teenage years with a bit of weed …the 2 mile walk home in the middle of the night / country roads was scary as hell , we all walked down the centre of the road!

Silent hill as soon as that siren goes off
    Ring
Alien ( when Dallas is in the vent – still gets me now)

    And yes Wolf creek

Also make sure you check them from time to time , and keep the maxle clean!

I’ve had similar problems with my 2011 lyriks especially at the start of a technical descent ! If you look at the lever end of the maxle you’ll see a small allen key bolt behind it , turn this a couple of notches and the lever should clamp up tighter . My lever appeared to have very little tension when clamping up but this soon cured the problem.

FS is my main / fun bike
HT is my basic average looking bike for commuting / local rides ( FS does not come out to play at home after my last one was stolen – by the scum down the road)

I bought my kona blast mainly for hacking around but have really come to enjoy riding it , to the point where i’m thinking of getting a better spec’d HT 🙂

Had my 02 plate 1.6 for nearly 4 yrs , never really cost me much in repairs (i’m a Ford technician 😉 ) I love it and its done nearly 100k now but starts and drives perfectly .
    * TIP * You can fit two bikes in ACROSS the back seat and this free’s up the boot for gear . Lift the seat bases up and the frames will fit in ok , usually upside down . Then fit wheels in after !

    Agree with Daveyboy

Yes it gets busy and yes its not the most technical of places but its great fun with a couple of friends, isn’t that what it’s all about?!

Very happy with the stock tyres on my enduro , clutch and purgatory . No pinch flats , even in Andorra (and i’m lazy as i forget to check the pressures now and again)

Am not jealous at all …. 😉

Saw one in leisure lakes a while back , just had to sit on it !!!

Just been out for a spin and they rattle around like a loose headset ( no its not that by the way!) and oil leaking out the lock out lever, which also seems to be packing up too.

Thanks , sounds like they’re probably past it then and not worth repairing !!! Oh well 🙁

Andy , i used to own a well spec’d pitch pro until it was stolen the day before a trip to the lakes . I ended hiring a very nice hustler @ grizedale and can give you a good comparison , oh and i’m about the same weight .
Yes the pitch is much more of a bomber bike but can still be built/ridden well , mine had hope hoops , revelation 150 air forks and was at the point of being a much better climber than it used to be .
The hustler felt odd to start with being a touch shorter but one thing i did notice straight away was how much stiffer it was ! After about 20 mins i really started having fun on it and could climb pretty well compared to the pitch , it felt pretty darn good descending too .
My friend used to have a 575 and i had a ride on it ( well around car park / down a track ) i think the geometry felt a bit steeper upfront and had that ‘sitting on ‘ feeling . Not my cup of tea but obviously not the best test for it ! I would have gone for a hustler with my insurance money but i got an ’11 enduro for the same price as a new pitch 🙂

A few crashes whilst trying some downhill stuff in Andorra , no mtb’ers were harmed in the making of this 😆

I agree they are a fun , bought an 09 kona blast off a friend as a local hack/commute bike and have had some fun rides . I’d have to say they’re a bit tough on the body(especially if you suffer with back and neck probs!!) but agree that they make you ride better / differently compared to FS . Prefer my Enduro though 😀

Had a similar problem with my front brake , end up pulling to the bar and not working , has been bled countless times and always full of air . Got fed up with it and it has been sent away ( under warranty 😀 ) I’ve got to pick it up tomorrow from LBS, They say its had ALL the seals replaced so should be ok , if not its going in the bin !

Have you looked at the specialized camber ? I know its not 100 mm but have seen a few people flying around on them and wouldn’t mind one myself . Great value too .

Well i’ve not had as many as some people on here , first up

    Trek 820 00’s
    Saracen dirttrax 2003?

I loved my 09 pitch pro and had changed a ‘few’ stock items over time …best of all a new rockshox revelation which balanced the bike perfectly . Never needed the pro pedal as it rode well without it, also an absolute HOOT on the gravity assisted stuff ! I was unfortunate enough to have it stolen in oct and with the insurance money would have gone for the 2011 pitch pro but didn’t like the colour and the fact i managed to grab a 2011 enduro for £50 more 🙂 even happier bunny now
