Although we’re not in the affluent category, I still seem to tick many of the STW/middle class boxes and like a good gadget to boot.
Saying that, spending that much (plus installation) on an LED-lit, sphincter-blasting, blow-dry-your-anal-beard toilet crosses the line by a fair bit for me.

Agreed, which is when you really need it smooth, so you don’t break your beer bottles

I have the Burley Coho XC

It’s great. One wheel feels good on corners and the suspension is a godsend for potholes when fully laden.
The two best bits are the ability to attach/unattach with one hand, and the kickstand which enables the trailer, or the bike/trailer combo to stand unaided.

I have the Time Link commuter pedals. On the plus side, they are solidly made and reliable, and the clipless side always defaults to up, which I love. They have the road legal reflectors too.

The main downside is that the flat side has virtually no grip.

Re. IG, IIRC the browser version is better than the app when it comes to fewer ads. In my feed, it showed my chosen accounts at the top, then a “that’s all your stuff” message and all the algorithm guff was after that.

It’s pretty standard for the pendulum to swing against the president in the midterms – add to the mix current inflation (the causes being a mix of global factors, and both Trump and Biden administration spending bills, but Biden has been left chairless when the music stopped) But I’m enjoying seeing the so called “Big Red Wave” being downgraded to more of a ripple.
