What estate is as big inside as a Pathfinder?

With rearmost seats down, Pathfinder has 515l boot space.

    Mercedes E Class: 640
    Passat: 650l
    Octavia 610l
    Fabia: 530l

When all seats are folded, the Pathfinder has a huge 2091l, which beats most estate cars, but I found that to be a long, narrow tunnel which was not conducive to loading bikes.

    Pathfinder’s basically a pickup though

How so, other than looking like a Navara? It’s a full-on seven seater SUV with proper rear suspension.
Saying that, all of the stuff you say about the XC90 applies to the Pathfinder; high and no roomier than an estate. Mine was a big slow smokey lump which cost £500 a year to tax

    How about a Stif Squatch?

I really love mine, but I’d honestly say it’s more on the “sled” side of things. It is definitely “fun, poppy, easy to jump and throw about”, but I think there are other bikes which would fit the OP’s criteria better. A Gen3 Stanton Sherpa for example

Yeah – Guy seems like a decent chap…

…but his programs are tuned for mass consumption (like most TV output of course) and hence almost no real content and I find it irritating. I tune in full of optimism and end up changing channels because it’s boring and uninformative.

Mrs Pisco reading from a council pamphlet:
“How much are we paying in council tax?”
    “£200 per month”
“Well it’s going up to £270”

One panicky fact-check later and it turns out it’s an extra £70 per year. A Social Care levy apparently

Babbage is a good Science/tech podcast from The Economist. The latest is an interview with an AI robot and pretty interesting.
The one before that looks at the potion they are developing which provides all the benefits of alcohol with none of the downsides.

A manuals thread with the STW Massive contributing tips, favourite videos, and personal progress reports would be great for me.

I know there are plenty of videos out there, but recommendation on the ones to watch (and the ones to avoid) would be helpful.

You aren’t supposed to overtake through junctions for this very reason.

That’s good to know. On my road commute, I have to turn right at a place where there is often traffic behind me. I signal, look back, make sure the driver has seen me and is not intending to overtake, look back again, and again, wave a thumbs up to the driver, then turn right. Only to once have a car behind that driver not realise why things have slowed down in an apparently clear road and overtake, almost killing me.

In my mind, that impatient driver is on the wrong; what else can I do?

This situation reminds me of that

Of course it may not have been a 120k in one chunk loan. Sometimes the director will not pay themselves much of a wage just to help things tick over during lean times. The debt therefore accrues over time.

Obviously I have no knowledge of how things were in this case, just musing on the subject of loaning.

A limited company is a separate entity to the individual. It is owned by whoever owns the shares.

It’s quite common for someone to set themselves up as a director and shareholder, and pay themselves a wage/dividends. If the whole thing topples over, the debt stays the liability of the company (assets sold off to pay things off as much as possible) but the director’s personal assets (eg house) are protected.

Loaning the company money will not have been a decision taken lightly, as you are suddenly putting personal assets at risk. I would only loan 120k to a company if I had a lot of faith in it and a personal drive keep it going!

The way I read it the OP is trying to turn right out of their drive, car from the left slows and flashes to let them out, and the bus had to, as part of his evasive manoeuvre, pull into the opposing carriageway, crashing into the OP as they are pulling out.

If that’s the case, I can’t see it being anyone’s fault but the bus driver

    pisco
    Full Member

I’d say the bus driver wasn’t driving in such a manner that he could stop safely. Technically you’re not supposed to flash people, but whatever reason the flasher stopped, the bus driver should have been at such a distance and alertness that he could also stop safely.

I had some Aftershokz for several years. They were never quite loud enough*, but regardless, I used them constantly until they broke. I immediately ordered some Shokz Openrun (£100 ,btw) and they’re even better; louder and clearer. They also connect flawlessly unlike the last pair.

The bass response is dire, but still  I wouldn’t be without them.

*the addition of foam earplugs helps with volume, but you can still hear someone calling you, for example

@sweepy sorry, Waffle is another game which I prefer to Wordle.

I do start with a random word tho, no repeats and two vowels

Me too, normally. Today’s popped into my head and I submitted it anyway for some reason, despite having a repeat. I nearly fell out of bed when it showed all green!

It’s also obvious what your starting word was, which is a strange one to start with.

You’re right, of course. I like to choose a random word each day with at least two vowels. Even as I was typing that word in, I thought it was daft, but there you go.

    FWIW Waffle is my favourite

It’s not a looker. It looks to have similar geometry to my old Sherpa, but will be a fair bit lighter. I bet it would be a really fun bike to ride.

Chicken and Mushroom Pot Noodle with chunks of boiled egg mixed in. Like kedgeree, but faster and easier and less like kedgeree.
