Well, that certainly gives me a bunch of options. Thankyou all for your help/ideas. Intense UK have passed it on to the US to see if they’ll consider warranty. I’ll keep you updated.
    Cheers

Tried a few SMPs, and they’re ok, just as long as the “relief channel”😱 runs right to the very tip.

macdubh…I’m assuming it’s: wheel out; deflate shock; grease pivot (at a bit of an angle); then reassemble?

I was in Turkey in September; I follow the Intense FB  etc sites, and at midnight one evening I got a “final 2018 offers” post…….woke up with a notification that my new Carbine was on its way.

Still some great deals left on 2018 Intense Carbine. Well happy with mine at that price.

Thanks Chrismac, that’s what I wanted to hear. I’ve got the, Chemo/Rad version of Reynaulds, and even with, Aldi’s finest, ski gloves+liners, I’m struggling already. And it’s quite mild atm.

Tried “barmitts” pogies, and although they give some relief, I struggle on all-dayers.

Nobeer……that’s why I thought the SS, cycling specific, ones might fit the bill.

im just trying to find out if anyone’s tried them, before I spend that much.

Mind you, I’ll have spent twice that much on the Amazon hot hands teabag things, over the years.

Sounds idyllic, but I’ve got 5 bikes in total; might end up a tad pricey. Great innovative idea mind.

👆what Nobeer said: nightmares with several, boot mounted, racks ; bought a Thule tow bar mounted rack/tow bar  in 2013 and it’s still doing its job perfectly (can never work out how mind you) but it just works……in its chequered past, it has held on to: Anthem, Trance, Talboy, Carbine, Hightower, Pivot LesFat and Stache….so a fair cross section of nadgery frame designs.

    Thanks guys

I’m not sure why, but the Tennie ticked all my boxes. I have particularly cold hands/feet from previous medical issues (and old age) but they just worked: my feet never got wet, and I never lost feeling in my toes.

I think if I can find a pair for the price you’re quoting there, I’ll give em a go.

Tried the “hiking boot/5:10 resole option once, but found the sole hard and inflexible, with reduced grip.

Fab pic roverpig….on another note, is that an SDG saddle?…..if so, how is it for, erm🤔….”numbness” …..been using Adamo Peaks for years, but fancied a change and bought a Duster.

Always have used the ISM Adamo peak(or other models) ….. at my age my ancient plumbing is very precious.

i’m going to give the SDG Duster a try for my latest bike (anyone tried em?)…….but I think I’ll be going back to ISM.

It’s actually both tyres……probably sorted now: Buycher Grid front/Purg Grid rear……will save weight  and also make it roll a bit better…I’ve got 2 used Toro XCs in the mancave that I’m going to throw on today; they’re 790g each, just not sure how the front will fare; been running them as rear tyres for years.

Cheers guys, awesome response as usual. I’m thinking Butcher/Purg FTW …. poss, grid rear, and 2bliss front?……I’m going to mess with some used man cave stock tomorrow, I’ll post actual weight loss for anyone who’s interested

    thanks again

Absolutely awesome piece of kit. I’ve had a Carbine since 2013 and loved that, but the revamp they’ve done makes a big difference (Head/Seat tube angle etc)…..made an old man smile today.

Aye, it’s the Carbine Elite…..I was thinking of possibly buying the 2018 frame, and building up from there, but then the latest price drop made that idea a bit ridiculous really.

Damascus……my original 10-44 ran badly with XTR, so this was replaced for an XT……when I decided to renew, I went for the 10-48; not a chance with the Shimano (even though LBS called Hopetech and they said it should be ok, albeit with some fettling)…..went back to 10-44 and still having problems trying to set it up (LBS has spoken to Hopetech and they are now saying SRAM is a better bet for rear mech)……bike is with LBS now while I’m on hols……we shall see……wish I’d gone for GX Eagle in fairness.
