Have a look at Sub4. Baselayers, glove liners etc ( at up and running) apparently they’re HH without the badge…..3 for 2 deal on now……so far feel better than my Howies merino and a fraction of the price

GWS my friend…..I had similar eating issues after throat cancer…quite easy to leave out important bits and proteins etc…. I just liquidised loads of fruit skin n all, made thick veg and meat soups… Loved em so much I still have em sometimes…..good luck.

My oakleys stay on fine.. …I even went for the non-vented (£50 saving) on my split-jackets and they hardly ever steam up…… my others are the flack-jacket and I love em!!!!……I got VF with reactolight and got them with a slight goody yellow mirror ( stops you looking like a tw…t a la Ali G when indoors)…..great specs a bit dearer but I like em

I’ve had 2 Anthems and now got Trance 29er X0….in my opinion they have been well sorted bikes from the get go…..if I’ve sold on to replace I’ve ways got good money and rapid sale…Giant’s aftersales (plus my awesome LBS ) has been brilliant……I rode the Trance last night and we did a mixed bag of gnar, it just ate it up in a similar fashion to my Tallboy….my opinion, I know but hopefully helpful…Giant, great VFM and backup!!!! Obviously can’t comment on Whyte.

Sorry to appear defeatist but tried nudhuggers front and back….. Ok ish on Trance but rear doesn’t work on Tallboy mainly because of shape of rear of seat undermoulding causes guard to point down

No mudhugger 29er mudguards until feb ( just emailed em) the Anthem is a mates but I’ve got same problem on my Trance and Tallboy LTC

Go to eBay and type SSC-P7 and you’ll find a good few…mine was £29 ish (seller Makiluk or similar) great light 2-3 hours on full….. good service

I had the same…..one link joint was virtually locked….two pair of pliers, loads of lube and sorted…took a while to find it mind

Much more grip on the 5:10’s……I’ve got both and bought them at same time….. Impacts still good Shimanos are shot …..have a look at the latest waterproof ( ish) all weather 5;10’s might be better for winter and impacts end up like sog monsters in the wet ( still grip though)

Superstar nanos are awesome and I’ve just fitted the other SS models with titanium bits (168grams) and they’re awesome too….

Just got a Giant thermal suit ( biblongs and jacket) all fleece lined from Amazon <£70…wore it yesterday and was pleasantly surprised …. lovely and warm ( from China but hey Ho) first set too big so ordered replacement and all went well….. Happy!

38/22 on Trance and Tallboy (i specced this)did try a few weeks only using big ring…. worked ok even on gnarly Manx climbs but chain and cassette don’t last long ( we were beasting it a bit) so back to both rings and this ratio is great on our varied terrain

Sealskins knee length socks plus I’ve just started wearing Berghaus gaiters from Amazon…..awesome bits of kit totally prevent any water running over tops and help to keep feet warm

Got the front and rear….all of the above for the front and the rear, seat fitted one does a pretty good job of limiting “brown stripe….. pack still gets it and you’ll get a bit of a mini- token brown ass when you’re standing up but both well worth it

For MTB go to eBay type in SSC P7 1200 lumen and for £28.65? You’ll get all the light you need…….3.5 hours on FULL/HALF alternating or 2.5-3 on FULL …use it for 18 months … Ish …… Then repeat …. Simples

My fork and shock’s serial number are not recognised….however there is no difference between CT or D all a bit squishy…. Took it to my LBS and they’re off to Mojo this week…Fox can’t afford to balls this up any further

I’ve got the X0 and love it …..I’m 6 feet 2 and ride large….previously had an anthem 26 and 29, both were great bikes with no maintenance issues ( apart from Avid s….t brakes which Avid sorted with some aplomb )…..after riding the more relaxed Trance I’ll never go back to the pure XC geometry of the Anthem (I did OTB a fair bit)….. I’m only buying a Tallboy this year because there is no new carbon Trance 29er…..peeved me off a bit, manufacturers are so fickle!!!!

Great deals at the moment on the Trance 2013, my advice…..snap em up and ride em!!!!!

Was getting at least 1 per week sometimes more, especially when the gorse first came out …. got some Bonty Mud X’s and went tubeless in May and nothing since then, 3 x 20ish mile + rides per week and Ratrace Crossing (200 m) and Manx e2e (45m)….. don’t know if it was the tyres or the Stans but I’m very happy.

I live in Ballaugh,15 mins from the start. Did my first e2e this year. Previously did Ratrace Crossing in July and it matched it for great organisation and routes. We ride sections of it most weeks and never get fed up.
Great scenery, great banter and some great trails…. IOM tourism will sort accommodation for you if you tell them your price bracket….my goal was 5 hours….. finished in 5.01…. Chain came off on last climb DOH
