I THINK WE SHOULD STOP POSTING ABOUT THE TRAILS SO I CAN KEEP THEM ALL TO MYSELF! 😉 😆

This guy looks a bit 'funny' and i dont like the way he is holding this kids shoulders. Something not quite right about it.

I am going to go round to his house later with some mates to kick the sh!t out of him and burn his house down. Anyone coming?

Stuff like this really does make me laugh. Guy selling four bikes with bad grammar must be a crook? Hang on he has a white van as well he MUST be a crook!

Do you not think that if they were stolen he would demand on posting them? Which thief in his right mind would advertise stolen bikes on a national website and then risk someone coming round to have a look at them!

And then you are all jumping on Dickbartons case, FFS get a life. And no I dont mind people listing a 'heads up' about possible stolen bikes but that is all it is a posibility. No need to get so adamant and self righteous about it.

You risk warping your discs slightly. But there is no doubt that a nice heavy braking sesh to get the pads hot, followed by a water dousing brings the pads up to speed in no time.

    MSR Windpro.

Because the burner is remote from the gas cannister you can use a heat reflector and windshield which vastly reduces boil time.

I use Pace forks on my Soda and the push lock facility is really good for climbs and long road sections. Then it unlocks itself on the downs!

I could never go back to 100mm after running 130mm for for past 5 years.

    This one for me http://www.blackdiamondequipment.com/gear/rpm.php

Great climbing or winter pack as well. Plus I can fit all my Polaris gear in it as well.

I always used to use road biking for MTB training.

Do some 5-25 mile time trials (hilly’s are good) to build up your power.

If you are after losing weight then you need to be doing 2 hour plus rides of more than 30 miles at a lowish intensity. Heart rate below 130 at all times. Ideally 4 hour rides of 50-60 miles will see the weight drop off!

Then I always found road biking to be a great tool for warming down after a heavy week on the bike. If you feel a bit tired but not dead to the world then go and ‘spin out’ a leisurely 10-20 miles to loosen your legs up a little.

You could look into this in great scientific detail but biking isnt really rocket science. Know the basics of what works for you and just go and ride. When you feel tired then rest.

    Cheers for the replies guy’s.

I think I am going to break my love affair with the Flite then and try a Fizik Gobi XM.

£68-99 at Evans. Like the look of the Gel ones but the perforations put me off slightly. They look like a real mud trap!

Best bet is to get a 0% credit card over 16 months (Virgin) and then find the best (cheapest) deal you can on the bike you want.

    Its awesome!

Great for your balance, works your central core muscles as ur constantly adjusting your position and its twice as hard to pedal. And because it is sooo fun you dont notice the hardcore work out you are getting 😀

    Hey Jonathan

As I said at the time good effort being out on your single speed! 😀 Think I did 60% of the ride in 1st gear! LOL

    Hey Steve

Yeah I went up with a mate.

Had a pretty cool day (literally) loads of snow and a nice white out blizzard at one point.

Managed to ride/walk the whole red route bar the last section (too tired). Was really fun in the woods, the fire roads were very hard going though.

All in all though glad we went. Hard work but fun 😀

Im supposed to be off up there tomorrow.

If it says the trails are closed does that mean you are stopped from riding them, or they just think they arent rideable?

We import MSR so I am slightly biased.

However I have found cooking on a trangia very frustrating due to cooking time/weight. The W-Lite is a great stove but may be overkill for you. If gas canisters are readily available I would go for the Windpro or a Superfly. Windpro is great as the gas cannister is remote (you can use wind shield/more stable). Superfly great as you can fit both bayonet and screw fitting type canisters.
Pocket Rocket is a superb lightweight option but for longer trips the above would be better.
If gas availabilty may be a problem due to long periods away from civilisation ie 2 weeks plus, then go for the Whisperlite it really is a superb piece of kit that is easily field maintanable.

Really not bothered about it on my lid, dont see the point. 720 lumens on the bars makes a headlight pretty worthless. 1000 lumens plus and it really isnt worth it bar for fixing punctures!

Just want to get away from the wires is all, fed up of them 🙁

    Nice work though fella
