If he is missing his pack he may howl all night, don’t worry though is only a night time thing and should stop at first light.

He may think the family or his pack, as he sees it, has gone and immediately try to form a new pack which is part of the humping, demonstrating how virile he is. If that is the case he will challenge everything you do and say until a new pack hierarchy is established.

If you are minding him in your house he will have to establish a territory which basically means pissing on absolutely everything.

Not a problem though as the pack harmony will sort itself out in his head eventually but you need to stand up to him so he doesn’t become pack leader.

    Good luck.

I am pretty sure that there are many more things that make you an annoying barsteward than putting “Cheers, Dannyb” at the end of your posts with people here. Such as spelling mistakes, gramatical errors etc. that will tick off the pedants. It doesn’t bother me but thanks for asking and considering how we feel about it.

    Cheers

Can’t help with cycling career but I changed career at 35 which was a massive risk but I was so unhappy. Moved into something that I thought I knew about but didn’t but its worked out for me and I enjoy what I do.

My only advice to anyone changing career would be to try and choose something you enjoy, obviously making a hobby a career is perfect but usually unattainable. Equally accepting new challenges and looking at the why you want to. In your case its relocate orretrain but for others it may be boredom stress etc so making sure you don’t have the same issues as the reason for change is good as well.

I agree with what has already been said.

The majority of cyclists do not use Strava. Of those that do some of the evidence will show recklessness. Cyclists going too fast on shared use paths etc. If we, cylists, as a group want to be taken seriously then we should at the very least be sensible and some of the speeds shown for shared use paths are far from sensible.

I definitely feel it could have the opposite effect and see enforcement. Could evidence from Strava be used retrospectively for offenses committed and dangerous / reckless riding.

I travel a lot in London and I must say that firstly there are a lot more cyclists than where I live, secondly many do jump red lights and cruise through crossings, ride on pavements etc. I think the unfortunate thing there is you notice the idiots rather than the good cyclists so they are all tarred with the same brush.

Bollocks to the apology, I can see how he was trying to raise harmonious and safe road use.

He realises exactly what he is and that what he has said is in the public domain and has upset a great many people. Now he is simply tying to cover his arse and protect some of his business.

    Maggot.

I also note he has 5 likes for his original post.

This is the first Tour I have watched properly, getting a lot more into my cycling etc. I understand that Froome pulled Wiggo through last year, or rather team Sky did. But isn’t the “racing by numbers” part of the game.

OK maybe team Sky is not as strong as last year but could Froome win it on his own using other riders to pull him along etc. Or is that simply not possible as the team needs to be there. Obviously keeping the support cars etc. Is it actually possible to win the Tour on your own.

Its not just me then, I looked at everything I could have done but literally there is nothing apart from pray you can hit the brakes in time. Really shook me up how close it was. Not even as if we don’t pay attention and try to anticipate cyclists, give them space, anticipating hazards is one thing people on bikes flying out of gates straight across roads is challenging. I don’t want to get into the argument they aren’t cyclists etc.

Ah Junky, maybe the irony was lost on me.

But thats why I like it here, most if not all will explain stuff. I like everyone here and the variety of posts. Sometimes informative, amusing, heart wrenching, we get it all. Sometime the real humanity of the folk on here comes out which is fantastic to see as it helps restore a little of my faith in humanity.

And it is ran pretty well.

So he has had two opportunities to provide his insurance details and refused on both occasions. Or did he just flea the scene originally, can’t recall.

Is it an offence to fail to provide your insurance details as well.

I find it weird that its still brought up. I think it was around the time I started here reasonably regularly but a forum is like a community but owned and managed by STW and the mods.

I like the forum, with or without TJ et al. I would ask does TJ want to come back, if so he needs to make his peace with the mods and understand the rules, as applied by the mods.

I think we can all fall foul of the rules at times as there is little context but I think it must be a year now since the bans.

Posters get it wrong as do the mods on occasion I am sure but I think they are fair and have changed decisions in the past where they have been given bad information, equally shorter bans. The community needs to move on, or perhaps vote! But its not our forum, ok we make it work but some will go new members will come along life goes on.

I do disagree with the whole concept of big hitters though. ig hitter in an internet forum WOW thats great!

A quick way is a wet towel as when the water evaporates it draws heat from the dog or something. I have a coat that I bought that you wet and as the water evaporates etc but a towel is just as effective or a toweling coat. The dog could wear that but not sure for several hours.

I can look on line and see if I can find the specific coats if you wish.

Or would I be burned at a stake?

Surely it would be Al rather than Fred. If you meant Fred you should have put “et Fred” rather than “et al”

Great looking bike, one of the best I have seen. Looking at a build later this year for either a Fargo or a Jones. Looks like Charlie did a great job and some great components.

    Jealous.

I agree with Hora, I would be out of my car straight away.

It could have been dealt with easily. This is the sort of thing that can happen and I would call n accident, that momentary lapse. Obviously not ploughing into things.

Essentially if the police deal with it properly its a fail to stop.

If it had been me driving it would have either been insurance but with the negative effect on no claims, make sure your ok first then get the bike sorted.

@dday any of your colleagues got a black Astra reg HV09FSZ with a few scratches.

Glad your OK Peter, I think you need to chase the police for a little more activity. Can’t believe they said “on your way”, I assume you got a look at them as well.

Hmm this always frustrates me now I love the NHS but I need to see my GP and can’t get to see him until the end of this month.

I was offered a nurse appointment but that would be with the guy who misdiagnosed the issue in the first place so declined.

The best I can do is go there and be awkward and demanding to be seen.

I do not see GP often. Twice a year would be a lot for me but I think its the 80-20 rule where 20% of the patients use 80% of the resources and clog up the systems.

They need something larger than loads of sledgehammers. They could learn something from Israel about demolition, possibly borrow a few bulldozers if they aren’t currently being utilised.

Could you imagine the conversation asking our police officers why they were parked there if they did not have a legitimate reason for being parked there. It would have been a whole different post indeed.

I understand that intensity and duration are better metrics. However just seeing what people are doing etc. I work from home so don’t have a commute and little time to ride. Pretty lucky if I can get three rides a week in. The last year has been solid work and no fun at all so want t fix the work life balance.

I wish I lived somewhere where I could get a few 1000ft of climbing but its just not around here, not that I am anywhere near ready for that yet.

I aam just reasonably happy with my progress from fat wheezy duffer to slightly less fat and slightly less wheezy duffer.

My target really is to be able to polish off 50 miles in relative comfort, I guess part of that is getting my arse used to it again. When I sort out my new mtb will be off into north Wales at the weekends to get some hills in try getting to that next level.

Might try adding a bit of running, the c25k. Road doesn’t bother me, just wish it wasn’t so flat around here. Well it isn’t just need a little more distance to start getting the hills. I think I will be happy when I am around jumping on the bike and 30 miles is a leisurely ride.

She hates location names and calls her kid India, last time I checked India was a location, big triangly bit in Asia. Have to check its still there!

She needs a really good sorting out. Her head is well up her own arse and I bet she was a bloddy delinquent kid done ok for herself.

Insurance isn’t cheap but we have to get a disclocated knee sorted on one of mine. It may require both knees doing. He goes in for the op after being refered to a consultant and its £3k per leg. We are increasing the insurance to the £7k next year.

You can chose to look stupid with hairstyles which more or less masked your thinning crop (did you have a full comb over). Or yu can embrace it. There really isn’t a choice, its gone, unless you spend a lot of money on hair implants.

On a serious note at job interviews if you know your stuff, dressed appropriately and obviously do not have inappropriate tats nobody will consider your thinning hair.

Gastric band is the least, a “freind” of ours is very overweight, in and out of hspital and gets a bloody car on disability for it. Even with all that done its rae that you see her moving about in anyway as she sits in the car chatting to other “freinds”.

Annoying as I think there are other avenues that could or should be persued even if it is mental.
