there are some dog owners that are stupid. Most love their animals but some are very responsible. Ok so you are not a pet person but hey lets not tar everyone with the same brush?
pingu66Free MemberBuyer A could have used the buy it now feature I would sell to B. Depends how much hassle there was and who let who down.
The other way is A as you agreed to sell it but for whatever reason left it on fleabay.
Difficult one.
pingu66Free MemberI wish my Mrs’ was bipolar, at least then she’d be happy half the time. Miserable bitch!
Sorry iolo couldn’t resist.
Happened to a mate of mine and we were so glad as he really could get on with things and move forward after his propper diagnosis, everything was alot easier.
pingu66Free MemberUSe your neighbours!
Sorry seriously, is the SSID being broadcast?
Delete all the wireless profiles and start again, sometimes a wireless client will only show a certain nimber of SSIDs.
Refresh the drivers?
pingu66Free MemberSpesh Epic and Kona Dawg Delux.
Anyone want to buy the Kona 2008 recently serviced neww BB.
pingu66Free MemberWhite van!
You could post it!
Too heavy for carrier pigeon I guess.
pingu66Free MemberI dont think banging on the window did anything to help the situation. However if it was just barking as you went past I am sure you could live with that. If it trully is barking day or night it is the owners responsibilty to deal with that.
It could be that the dog is not stimulated in the right way. Mine go nuts at the window cleaner but are generally quite. My neighbours is a bit more yap yap at everything but not all day and night.
It can be frustrating but I think anyy sense of reason now has potentially broken down.
I would probably be sat there at 2am trying to get it to bark knowing it would p155 you off if you knocked on my window. But I do believe I would not let myself get in that situation with a neighbour.
What sort of dog is it, and will the dog have its say at mediation!
Whatever you do don’t feed the dog something “special”.
I would potentially see socialising the dog with you so that it does not perceive you as a threat, however if its day and night there are other issues as I doubt it has a percivd threat all the time. It could be lack of stimulation.
pingu66Free MemberBeatiful dog. Puppies are fantastic.
Another recomendation is ensure that they have plenty of stimulation. Make sure it knows what its toys are ie it can chew them, not furniture etc.
I have raised both my dogs with only the odd slipper/trainer becoming victim.
As others have said, playtime is playtime, with its young teeth and claws like needles you will probably get scratched in play and blood drawn. I know I did but non were bites just bloody hurts as they are so sharp.
Let it know even in play that it hurts. Even now my dogs are 2 and 3 years if one is naughty it gets ignored. Its amazing the impact it has.
Get some good books aswell and learn about your specific breeds needs as different dogs have different purposes and often different requirements from a stimulation perspective.
pingu66Free MemberAs it was done in secret can we assume that they landed at dawn and managed to get into the heart of Port Stanley. They met no resistance of any sort and descrated a war memorial.
Suprised nobody else thinks this is a more serious attempt at testing our defenses and resolve, or are we just holding our British stiff upper lips till after the Olympics
pingu66Free MemberAt 12 weeks old I wouldnt at this time be too concerned. You often get mouthing with puppies. That said you need to ensure this doesn’t become a habit.
A dog will use its mouth to investigate things, like a hand. With its sibblings each would be nipping and tugging each other and its also part of the pack hirachy.
A firm “NO” should hopefully suffice and I do not recommend using any foreign objects, certainly in the first insatnce like shaker and water bottles.
Get a good trainer, with both of my dogs I worked with an animal behaviorist. Probably more expensive than a “dog trainer” but it teaches you how to understand your dog, its behaviours and what you can expect. It also teaches you a set of methodologies for training rather than just “teach it to do this or that”.
Socialise the puppy as much as you can, this time of year country shows have little companion dog show where he will meet lots of dogs. Take him in stores while hes small enough to carry. Most pet stores let you in all the time.
Developing a firm and consistent command structure at an early age is key and your tone says alot more than the words. Firm when its naughty, soothing and playful when its good, usually rewarded with a treat for achieving something on command.
Take small steps and learn to work with yor dog and train yourself to understand it and traning it will be a lot easier and lead to a long and fulfilling relationship.
pingu66Free MemberAs far as I know 28 days they dont need to give you notice. After that and upto 12 months they need to give you notice but dont need a reason. After 12 months all your rights kick in. Happened to me 5 interviews when I was out of work to get a job. International company, well Siemens actually. Then 3 months in binned me as I wasn’t performing. They weren’t giving me work but hey ho I was doing tons of training.
The director just gave me both barrels and I said thanks and left. My manager was there and rang me later and explained they counldnt afford me but he would give me a great reference. I said dont bother and told him that he and the director needed to grow a pair and should have been honest.
You relly dont want to work for low lifes which exist in even the biggest companies.
Good luck for the future.
pingu66Free MemberIn line with bigsi dog 5h1t on his car door handle.
But having been there have a beer, chin up and get your cv polished up. Looking for work is a job itself. Try and look at it as a learning experience.
Life looks crap at the moment but I hope you can look back at this in six months and think of it as a lucky escape.
pingu66Free MemberIve worked for several American companies and they seem to use these more than most, Some favourites are
up skilling = training
Broaden the skills matrix = training
knowledge download = ummmm training.
Go to guy!!!!!!!!!
The problem is you have to start using rubish like bandwith etc to get by.
One of the issues I face is being a technical lead on major projects you often have non technical issues, curve balls, etc to deal with and I have learned to “push back” on the PM to deal with these to maximise my bandwidth.
I now see what I am becoming and want to kill myself!
pingu66Free MemberI dont see a huge issue here. As has been said was it already dead etc, however it would be reasonably natural for a dog to kill sosmething like that.
Definitely not saying I agree with it and if my ogs caught or brought something furry back to me I would be horrified, but I dont put it deyond the realm of possibility.
pingu66Free MemberAssuming the drum bearing, I have replaced several myself but the last one on a 2 year old machine was all sealed part of the drum etc. Got the man in a van to do it with a warantee as Doris has it on 3 times a day.
Dont know why though.
pingu66Free MemberI agree with what you are syaing, but they can still see what yu are buying etc.
Would the login details be insecure or would that be an embedded applet?
pingu66Free Membernjee
Im not scare mongering at all. I started the thread in good faith. I have stated I am NOT a web guru but I am an experienced IT prfessional. it looks like there are several and no doubt someone who is a web guru can add to the thread.
Its a forum, for discussion. If you have nothing constructive dont post.
pingu66Free MemberI understand that but when yu are registering typically it isnt, then if you are shopping it should be which it isnt on a particular site as I did register using a very old email addy thats already spammed to death.
Any I am not a web guru so you may be right hence not naming anyone. Just that my understanding is OK you may have a login applet but the shopping site once your in should be secure ie https.
pingu66Free MemberAs well as a first aid kit I have a space blanket just incase. I think most things can be patched reasonably adequately with what you have on or about you. Water for washing a wound, bag straps or just a top as a pad.
However if you have someone badly hurt and have to wait for help keeping them warm is a priority whilst waiting for the professionals. That is after breathing and bleeding.
pingu66Free MemberThe unfortunate situation is that firstly they probably know where you live as its probably the same toe rag that nicked it.
Secondly most on here have “to much to lose” by taking the law into our own hands.
Even if you catch someone red handed and defend yourself or your property said toe rags go straight to the police and complain they were assaulted. The situation was they were mugging my mother which they failed to mention. You then end up arrested.
Thats why we pay insurances and hope that when unfortunate things occur we get compensated. Sad fact of life.
Best advice, tell Gumtree and the police.
Would I recover my property, in a heart beat but thats me, I would go round assertain its mine and call the police from the location concerned.
pingu66Free MemberI’m sure my inclination would be to go round with a few large mates with cricket bats but seriously, has anyone been in this position and what works best?
A cricket bat is all wrong. First the scum bag would think you middle class due to the “cricket” in cricket bat. Second its a little more difficult to swing than a baseball bat.
Personally aluminium baseball bat, approach the event with the intention of returning with a)your bike and b) a nice knik in the bat so it may be framed and retired as a good bat that has served its want in life.
Seriously going round with the boys is a pretty safe bet. If the scum bag gets arsy he isn’t going to call the police. I would however urge caution in that they may know where you are aswell. Advise said scum bag its not in his best interest to bother you again.
pingu66Free MemberGood point Rob, but thats the shed security system as I only have a shed but that site has some good stuff I might invest in.
pingu66Free MemberI use two of these
Pretty good deterent for theivin barstewards.
pingu66Free MemberHe may well have however as I said the journo has crammed as many comments regarding “colonialism” etc thats why that statement stood out to me. Normally I wouldn’t read anything into it. After all the article is about Chambers not Millar, why even mention him let alone a seriously isolated quote.
pingu66Free MemberThe whole article has racist undertone. I mean reading it and then descring David Millar as “the black sheep”. Was this the jouro’s intention or were these words actually said.
Why did he take drugs? Because he couldn’t do it clean. He will have to live with the fact that he is indeed a failure. I also think he is an arrogant tunc as are his lawyers and manager but hey if they din’t rattle cages he would get someone that did.
pingu66Free MemberNixie
They do cover similar range 5″ travel on the Dawg 4″ on the Epic but the Epics a 29er so compensates the lost inch.
pingu66Free MemberI have two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and they are quite expensive to keep. Boy weiights in as 9st girl weighs in at 7.5st.
Food £50 a month, you can pay double that or alot less depending what you feed them. I use Iams and get a deal on it.
Snacks and treats about £5-10 a month.
Toys etc couple of quid now and then.
Christmas presents for the dogs £20.
Insurance I think its about £55 but thats top cover no quibble with Pet Plan. Anything over £75 in vet bills I can claim. Cost £400 for an xray as mine was limping. Vet probably wouldnt have recommended xrays so early on if I was paying. And yes it was worth it and diagnosed the treatment alot quicker than if we had fannied about.
Would not be without them.
pingu66Free MemberMunro I agree. Whats that about “eye contact”. Read my eyes, if I am on my bike and you make eye contact with me it says “stay there moron”.
pingu66Free MemberIrrelevent of wether a motorist flashes, its encumbent upon every driver to ensure that watever they do is safe and legal. Flashing is actually taboo, according to the highway code. However, many of us do it.
I wouldn’t be to paranoid I get periods like that when I drive thinking “is everyone a moron” and thats when I am in my car.
Saying that, I believe someone tried to kill me in their car the other day, edging out from th right on a mini round about as its my right of way, nearly went in the side of them.
Mind you I might kill them, 220 pounds at 25mph. LOL. Certainly leave an impression.
pingu66Free MemberPersonally I would say accident and, provided everyone was ok and any damage was remedied leave it at that. If I were the driver and the cyclist wanted to notify the authorities then so be it. Sometimes you cock up. I am pretty sure most of us on here have had accidents? Or been involved in similar.
However fleeing the scene jumps it to a whole different level for me. No longer an accident but a crime and if the powers that be accepted such things it would be a lot easier to prosecute. Minimum an assault, max well wherever you want it to be.
pingu66Free MemberMot sure if the vented lenses help but mine dont fog, vented.
pingu66Free MemberSounds good chocolate and guiness cake. Might make one up at the weekend, always impresses Doris!
pingu66Free MemberBusted a few ribs at the start of March, breathing hurt nexer mind anything else. Broken them several times but this was a good one. Only managed a few rides in April and its still a little sore in certain circumstances. Head bounced off the road (yeah I was going on a ride) helmet split in two. Dont think I’d be writing this without it!
Scary stuff! Get well soon.
