If like me your bob scared of dentists then go to your french dentist and ask for a clean and a temporary packer put in.
I bit into a double decker chocolate bar years ago and there was some rock solid nougat (not sure how to spell it) in there that broke my back tooth!
It involves cleaning out the gap with their special liquid (whatever that is) and they fill the gap with a special packing that covers up any exposed nerves and stops infection.
The best part is it doesn’t hurt one bit and you don’t have to have an injection.
This is by no means a long term fix as the packing only lasts for about 3 months but should see you right until you get back to the UK.

Oh and my dentist didn’t charge me but can’t say the same for french dentists :)

At the end of the day leave the poor guy alone he didn’t ask for the bidders to bid that high and chances are he is pretty shocked how high the bidding went.

Is it insured? can you get a new one?

I know its a pain in the arse but I bring my bike in the house and put it in the kitchen last thing at night and at weekends when i’m not using it, the wife moans a bit but if someone stole my santa I would cry :(

Poor guy hope he’s ok! some people look at me like a nob when I wear my full face on every trail but the way I ride I need it! and this just goes to show that looking stupid and over protected is the best way :)

1. Iphone is utter rubbish the reception is pretty standard, pathetic camera, no mms, no video, terrible battery life, overpriced, if you unlock it its done at your own risk and may wreck the phone when updated etc etc. not recommended.

2. Storm is a great phone but the idea of one pressable button is too new for me and that screen is just asking for dust to get trapped underneath it (same problem as the samsung I8510) no wifi either which for me is a big no no as when i’m in town or in starbucks I get to go on youtube, web etc for free :)
Also if you havn’t used a storm then I strongly advise you to before you buy it as its slow VERY slow use one you will see what I mean instantly, apart from that the big screen and the new technoligy may swing you to get one but I wouldn’t have one.

3. Blackberry bold, one word unbelievable!!! this thing is the king! fast as hell did I say fast? I meant lightening fast, I had about 9 applications running at the same time and it didn’t even twitch (VERY recommended)

Personally I think Vodafone is the best all round provider and all my phones have had full signal where I live (village wooded area) and I will probably never change.

4. If you want another phone to consider and like touch screen then the LG Renoir is the phone for you, I have had it 3 months and it is quite possibly the best phone iv’e had yet, amazing camera and video, very good touch screen and is the only phone in the world I know where you can drag and drop a full 700mb avi, wmv, film onto it and it just plays it thanks to the inbuilt Divx support no compressing or converting and the quality is stupidly amazing with Dolby surround sound too!

Feel the need to comment her, I went to my lbs quite recently and bought a new xt rear mech and asked them if they would fit it for free, they said no but it would only be a charge of £5 to fit and set up seeing as I bought it from them, fine I thought.
Went for a walk round town for an hour as there were people waiting before me for the workshop.
Came back to collect and pay to find that they had charged £12 fitting!!!!
I challenged them about it and they looked at me like a zombie, I wouldn’t back down and after the guy went in the back and whispered to his mate (very rude) he came back and said ok this time we will only charge you £5.

This has caused me to not trust my lbs anymore as before they had always been good to me but if the credit crunch is making people non trustworthy then i’m afraid all my custom will go to merlin and crc.

I tried spd’s once and my god never again! climbing was awesome as I could actually pull the pedal with my leg, but descending feeeeeck me! I was looking down at times and concentrating so much on the pedals that I came off sideways but couldn’t bail out as my feet were glued in! damn scary them spd’s if you ask me!
I’ll stick with my V12 mags thankyou very much :)

Which Highrollers though? Iv’e heard the super tacky dual ply soft ones wear out super fast and the side knobs get ripped off too easy!
Would the single ply lightweight ones be ok as they apparently last much longer i’m not professional or anything!! :)

I nearly bought an SLX crankset but got the XT just because it was XT and I like you didn’t know much about the SLX, wish I would have got the SLX as 3 of my mates have just bought cranks, etc and say they look better and cost slightly less than XT :(

Fair enough but what about the constant out of stock items?

CRC has been shocking the last few months and iv’e not used them since my last bad experience with them (again!), tried ringing them to chase an order that hadn’t turned up and their phones have remained unanswered for 3 weeks!!
Its now impossible to get an answer on the phone, yes you can email them but nothing beats talking to someone to put your mind at rest when spending £300 on custom wheels!
