So the fact that the mono are twin piston and the K18's single does that still mean they are going to be plenty powerful?

patriot_matt, will high roller 2.35's be ok on width with the EX729's or will they be too small for the rim and need to be 2.5's?
What tyres do you use?

I ask as I don't want to really be riding on 2.5's at trail centres as they would be hugely overkill!

I got a bad vibe about the whole thing so have decided to keep the Stiffee.

I'm 30 and starting to feel it a bit on the back end harshness and the pitch or sl should be a lot nicer to ride at speed.

Think I will regret it though…. heres some pics to look at and to judge if i'm crazy or not?

Oh and another thing, the fact that I ride a Cove Stiffee and I don't like riding on the road may give a slight indication that I like to ride like a mad man!
I want a bike that I can pootle around on or do some fast techy hard descents and the SL ticks every box.
The only other bike that I considered was the Meta 5.5.2 2009 but after reading many owners reviews they have a problem with frames cracking near the rear shock mount.

The SL seems like an awesome buy with top kit as standard and great value for money.

If I want to go to work on it then its fine.
If I want to ride trail centres then its fine.
If I want to do some light jumping messing about in morzine then its fine.

So in conclusion I think it will do just fine :)

With a 5 year no quibbles warranty and backup on the suspension then I think I will sleep at night, you don't get that with any other suspension do you? (thought not)

I'm 5ft 11 with a 32" inside leg, would the medium be spot on? what size do you guys all ride and how tall are you?
I ride a 17.5" Cove Stiffee at the moment and even though it looks small its easy to pedal uphill and is a hoot to throw around on the descents!

I had a stumpjumper 19" frame years ago and although it was a fantastic bike I always wonder if it was slightly too big for me :(

Those of you defending him in relation to never actually being convicted in court of being a kiddie fiddler WAKE UP!
It was his fame that got him off the hook in court, he was without a doubt a very very strange man, admitting to having boys in his bed and countless witness statements of boys going up to his various hotel rooms when he was away from home!

In my eyes he was 100% guilty and we can do without monsters like him, his death is no loss to society and the newer generation sadly don’t see that, good riddance!

I love my Stiffee on Pikes :)
Handles amazing and is a bloomin beast downhill! even at 140mm travel it still climbs comfortably, however once the u-turn is dropped to 110mm it climbs like a mountain goat love it!!!

Clubber, don’t know mate its not my frame, can measure it tomorrow as its at the school where I work, the guy selling it is a P.E teacher and I built him up a lovely Klein Attitude V, its killing him to sell it as he bought it from new around 8-9 years ago from Freewheel in Nottingham and he has loved every minute of riding it but when the Klein frame came up on ebay he couldn’t resist, he has only just converted to disc brakes a year ago!! the frame is way too big for his daughter hence the reluctant sale as he would have loved to build it up and give it to her :(

I really don’t think any of the people involved are going to stoop as low as vigilante retribution or similair as speaking to them shows they are normal law abiding chaps like myself.
The only way which this will move on is if everyone clubs together and gives all their info from day 1 regarding the sales, refunds, non postage etc which as I understand is now in motion.
PK-Ripper have emailed you mate let me know what you want to do as having personally received a full refund via cash from a personal visit I still feel somewhat compelled to stay with this and help others that havn’t been so lucky.

SDH are a nice bunch, bought my 2nd set of Pikes off there and guess what?? they turned up :)
But then they didn’t fit because I didn’t include spacers when measuring :(
I’m not doing very well am I? but hey ho just bought my 3rd set from user noidea with a 210mm steerer so 3rd time lucky :D

UPDATE ON THE SPRING:

“erm… OK so a parcel was indeed waiting at the sorting office for me.

..however instead of the Ti coil (£105) I have been posted a complete new AIR shock (worth about £500 as it’s for the FXR).

When IWH contacted me from the Sea Otter we discussed the possibility of me getting the Air shock for about £280 but I declined as I couldn’t really afford it at the time….even though I really wanted one.

He’s enclosed a polite note explaining that he managed to negotiate an end-of-sea otter price.

I’m hugely confused, especially at getting £280 worth of goods for £105!
