Think thats just answered it then, I bought the crankset with just the 2 rings and it had an mrp bash on before.
Maybe its always been a triple crankset and so the double chainset bash won't fit right?

Could I try a race face or an E thirteen or will I have the same problem?

Hi alexx, it seems too small and won't go over the outside spider part, the four ends where a triple ring would fit just won't let the guard drop on and line up with the holes.

Aaaaaagh! I knew that was coming!
I can't afford the talas at the moment so will have to settle for the Pike coils as they are a good compromise :)

Macavity, yes your right mate, however when its a replacement for a LOST passport you CANNOT get a fast track replacement.
Trust me we rang Peterborough passport office and they fully explained everything.
The only way to get it by driving down is if its expired.

Will let you know tomorrow mate, i'll have to ring Easyjet won't I?

Sorry guys should of been more specific, his passport was sent back to student finance by royal mail and after contacting student finance 2 weeks ago after missing the collection from the local sorting office they have said that it hasn't turned up or if it has it hasn't been located yet but they are trying everything to find it so at the moment its a bit of a floating Wonka bar! the passport office will not offer a fast track replacement due to the fact that we have recorded it as lost as Royal mail have provided us with proof that it was sent back but student finance say "its not here"

The only chance he has of going is if it turns up before monday but like I said its looking seriously dodgy and unpromising, don't mean to be pessimistic but I honestly don't think he will be going guys.

thisisnotaspoon… the flights as far as i am aware are non changeable, and are with Easyjet, you will be flying from Luton at 7:30 in the morning on the monday and flying home on the friday evening around 10:00pm, thats pretty much 5 whole days riding.

As for a sensible offer it all cost him £415 so £200 would be nice?

    Thats a bloomin bargain guys.

Hi Rob, I have a 5th element shock too witht he same stroke which had a 500lb spring which was too hard, would the 450lb spring be any better or would I not notice much difference?
I'm 190 lbs with camelbak and gear, tf tuned website put me at a 400 lb spring for a 5th element on a single pivot frame (heckler)

What did you have the spring on and how heavy are you?

    cheers mate

Hi Rob, not sure mate will measure it later mate, is your a manitou spring? and is it 2.25?

    cheers Stu

its a swinger coil 4 way, and the springs are manitou and have 2.25 or 2.5 on them so i thought 2.25 would be right.

    rocket, yeah replied mate.
Is a 400lb spring enough for my 183 lb weight though?
What did the tf tuned upgrade include?

Yeah think i'm swinging towards the rp23 now cheers mate :)

Coil shocks give a more constant smooth stroke with little or no ramp up.
They are going to take more abuse than an air but to be honest if you have something like an rp23 on a five then why would you want a coil on there?

I'm sticking up for the Giant Reign X1 here, 6.7 inches of butter smooth maestro travel, fox 36 vans raceface and sram X9 drivetrain etc

Mines an absolute beast and it peddles uphill like my old Kona Dawg (nice and comfy and doesn't bob around)

Get one you will flippin love it! I had a Santacruz Bullit last year and the Giant makes the Bullit seem crap on the downhills :)

allthepies, not snapping at you mate but if a 4 year old girl or a 60 year old with a heart condition would of touched it and got what I did then i'm pretty sure they would have come off worse, i'm no wimp mate at 6ft 13 1/2 stone 30 years old and fit healthy and normally very active, if it dropped me like a sack of s**t then it has to be reported.

I'm not out to get a pile of cash but i'm genuinely hacked off that from the second I walked through the main gate to the point where I left I saw not 1 single sign saying "caution electric fence live within trading hours" or something to that effect.

I was buying something from them and I should not have been in any danger whatsoever and as far as i'm concerned compensation is deserved to people in my case who don't deserve to be electricuted whilst buying one of their products!
I work damn hard 6am till 3pm at a school not watching Jeremy Kyle all day so would like something done about this and if money falls on my lap as a result then so be it.

If I don't do something about it then some poor person is going to get it too!
I was horrified to hear the **** at the yard say "yeah only last week a delivery driver touched it and he was in lots of distress and went white as a sheet.

All I know is my Giant Reign X1 is the absolute s**t! it can go uphill downhill, flat, freeride, xc anything, it weighs 36lbs and is my top all rounder.

I used to have a Kona Dawg which was a great climber, but also took it to Morzine and flew past loads of people on DH bikes so it really proves nothing.
If it feels right then just ride it, whats right for you will never be right for others.
As long as I have a smile on my face and i'm not last then it must be the right bike for me :)

BillyWhizz, yeah no probs I expected a few gags mate :)
Seriously though I was doing my mate a favour as he is a teacher and is useless with car stuff bless him, I finished work at 3pm when the bell went and we both rushed off, I got a baby sitter at the last minute for my little girl but was going to take her, so glad I didn't!

mattsccm, I see what your saying mate but surely the fact that I was inside their premises at 4:30 in the afternoon buying something from them should mean that I should not be subjected to a massive electric shock like that signs or no signs I think its just wrong???
I would of thought that whilst the members of public are on site buying stuff and staff are there all day then there shouldn't be any requirement for an electric barrier? I would of thought it would be on a system where when its locked up and everyone goes home it is then set and switched on.

A farmers fence is different as foxs, sheep, dear etc are not being regulated the same as human beings due to the fact that an animal will be there at any random time and won't steal a car part!!!

Well to make it more clear the 1st thing I felt was a pain like maybe a knife being thrust into my arm would feel like, not that its ever happened to me but you know what I mean, followed by my left arm and rib cage starting to spasm! like someone squeezing my arm really fast loads of times.
I fell to the floor in a split second it was mad, my mate next to me started to laugh as initially as all mates would he thought it was one of our normal gags or pratting about, but he quickly went into serious mode after he saw me on the floor like a beetle stuck on his back.

My arm felt red hot for ages and I couldn't clench my fist, and my breathing was immediately affected along with a racing heart rate.

I find it all very disturbing that they all found it funny apart from my mate, and I just can't stop thinking if my 4 year old girl would of been there!

Anyway going to ring h+s in the morning and see what they say as its very obvious that it isn't your average tingle intended for a sheep, fox etc.

Well the paramedic gave me a special report which he said I need incase anything happens down the line which I know exactly what he meant.

Who do I report it to this late at night as I only got home about 30 mins ago?
Do I just ring in the morning? I rang the police and reported it but they werent very helpful :(

Its not your average scrappie but a massive national breakers yard where all cat 1,2,3,4 write offs go to.
Iv'e touched a cattle fence before when I was a kid and trust me this knocked me off my feet to the point where I was wriggling around like when the US police shoot them electric guns at you!

On a serious note, I use my Giant Reign X1 for everything and I too havn't experienced anything bad happen to me like a ufo beaming me up or anything else like that!

If it feels right then just ride it :)
