Hey there, just wondering if you are still looking to sell on those Whisky forks and how much?

Been riding my Brodie ti for two years now and previously owned Cotic Soul, Bontrager, and a short spell with a Blur. Ti is an extravagance but I bought mine for the same reasons your looking – easy maintenance, light, rock solid ride and spot-on modern geometry. Ridden dh, marathons, big mountain loops, weekends away, and up to three times a week on local trail rides and it’s just a lovely bike. Build wise fitted dual position Revs, Hope wheels and brakes, and big volume tyres and it just rolls along over pretty much anything. Climbing the lower weight pays off and on the downs the twang of ti is subtle just like a good steel frame. Geometry is key so checking out and comparing the geo of bikes you have had and liked with a comparable ti is critical. Brodie matches well with geo of genesis alpitude, Cotic Bfe etc but is lighter and to me more usable as an only bike.

Suggested replacement I’d +1 with franks suggestion. Brodie Holeshot I’d say is a goodframe for the money, I’ve had mine about 18 months and have fully abused it in all kinds of riding and locations. I’d have no problem recommending one based on how good it’s been so far. Few mates have be waiting for me to say I’ve snapped it but so far only thing I’ve reported is how good it is. Very capable bike and if you are already a fan of ti you will love the ride, and the smile it puts on your face as you smash your local trails!

Top man stevede! The quality of the Barons are really nice so at the moment will be tempted to keep-on with them especially if I can shave a bit off the price. Cheers again for the link.

I’ve been an avid Maxxis Minion/High Roller fan for a few years now but the gloop got me thinking as the HRII I was running was just that bit too big for mud squirm! Still running the Minion up front but went for a Baron BC on the rear and have been well impressed. Grips like a beast under braking, cornering and climbing and no sudden washouts to date. Local stuff I ride is natural woodsy trails with plenty of rocks and roots. Can handle techy downs with confidence but air volume compared to HRII is noticeable on the comform side which is a fair trade in my book for being able to keep rolling. At £50 it was a bit of an ask being a poor northerner but payback has been great so far.

Out of the tyres you mention I’d probably say Ardent but they aren’t amazing in mud and across roots. A suggestion if your looking for a winter (heavy ground) general trail tyre would be a Continental Baron Blck Chilli. Been running one for a month now and traction is way better and rolling resistance isn’t too bad either. Expensive but has already started to pay me back in one of the squittyest winters for years!

    Bontrager Privateer
    Turner Burner
    Fat Chance Yo Eddy
    De Kerf Implant

All lovely bikes and have owned the first two although Turner was a 5 Spot and the other two were, are just bikes I’d love to have owned. San Andreas is a good call though and current bike hammering my psychi is a Chromag Samuri just to see if they ride as good as they look!
