Not cofidence inspiring, but at least they 'let you' take them apart, unlike Shimano!!

i am unsure how shit stays out

I don't think it does, he just says you can take it apart and scrub the muck out!!

No one has mentioned weight yet! Bet they are on the heavy side for HTII, but I'd give them a go, I'm not a weight weeny and always up for trying something different.

Price – if everything is RRP people will buy online/elsewhere, probably after popping in to the shop to check out colours and sizes!!

Not an On One fan, although do own (and use) some Mary bars 😳 but I think they look ok, especially the camo. Not keen on the coloured tyres though.

Oh yes, Swifts are pretty, but I think SIRS will outlast them and ain't ugly, but that's just my point of view!

Before I finally conceded that rigid was painful and stuck some Rebas's on, well worth it!!!

I'm with rocketdog on this one however in an effort to be odjective and as i did have a quick spin on a SIR9 before i bought a swift…………………

    GET THE SWIFT.

Sorry that didn't really work did it

    Oi!!!!!

I presume that was my sir9 you're talking about as I've never seen another locally? I don't remember you riding it, you did ride the Soma Juice that all the same bits were on before, but they really were oceans apart!!

Not had or ridden a Swift, but SIR9's are SWEET, and not fragile, eh Si 😉 !!!

I wouldn't think the bending out would be a problem, but how do you square the dropouts?

You had to walk through some sort of disinfectant trough for foot and mouth, wouldn't be too hard to make something for bikes to ride through.

Radio said something about a year and a half profit to be wiped out in paying for the mess, didn't catch what the annual profit was though!

It is another one of those small variables that makes up the whole experience. Geometry, wheel choice, tyre choice and pressure, fork setup and bar and stem length could easily mask something so subtle so I think you would have to really know your onions to hand on heart know it was the type of steel that was making the difference.

That said I love my 853 Niner Sir9 but that is certainly no proof – might have been nice made out of gas pipe.

Swapped all the bits from a Soma Juice (presige Tange) to a Niner Sir9 and the ride was massively different. The reviews had talked about feeling like it had an inch of suspension travel at the back which I thought was absolute 8ollocks, but the proof is in the pudding, it is a far more 'comfortable' ride.

Are some frames not made with just an 853 front triangle, guess that could be why some don't feel so much different to cheaper tubed siblings?

I got sucked in to some gloop once, stopped me in my tracks and I topled over still cliped in and smacke my head on a 1 inch round 1 inch high tree stump!!

No, not at all, I'd rather spend fifty pounds than 400!

Never had this dilema before, allways used to get vcr's repaired and other electrical stuff but the shops I used have all disappeared!

Is fixing things a thing of the past?
Is it worth fixing when its pretty old?

Blimey, just looked at the prices, admittedly only on the Argos website so far £200 – £440!

I thought they'd be chaep as chips as they don't need to be finished off in a particularly fancy way. Thet are more expesive that a lof of big fridge freezers!

You do just mean the caliper and not complete brake setup where hose length would come in to it?

    3 x for me.

Once on the way to college (many years ago) got overtaken by a woman who then turned left in to her drive, I ended up on her roof.

Second, riding through a small Town Centre a couple of days before Christmas, again, got overtaken by a woman (bit of a theme here … )who then jammed the brakes on as she spotted a parking space, as I went to go down the inside she chucked it in reverse and piled in to me, I'm surprised I didn't go through the back window of her Golf! 6 Stitches in eyebrow.

Third time was the most spectacular, taken out on a roundabout by a dick (male this time!) on the phone, A road, Dual carriageway, got chucked about 15 yards landed on my arse going backwards so head was slammed in to the road too. 11 stitches in my head and severely 8uggered ankle. But I did get an ambulance for me and one for my bike (it was toatalled anyway £1,300)

3's enough for me!!!!! They seem to be getting worse each time!

I'm in the same boat, like the Spesh Langster and the Charge Plug, excuse my naievety, are they both Fixies?

Currently use a SS 29er for commuting, but it's geared for the hills really, would like to try riding a Fixie and wouldn't really be duplicating bikes, the 29er can go back to off road duties!

Can't really understand the no-maintenance claim either compared to chains. These belts seem to be very similar to those used as cam belts on cars….my old car needed a new one of those every 60,000 miles where as the current one has a chain cam drive which doesn't need replacing apparently.

Not sure I've ever clocked up that many miles on a bike! 😉

I'm watching belt drives with interest, definitely like to give it a go if the guinea pigs give it the thumbs up!!

Bitter nice, Marmite is foul along with marzipan and mince pies (the 3Ms), all devils food

That's completely the wrong way round! You must have extremely sensitive taste buds, the 3m's are delicious, bitter = dishwater.

Maybe it's the years of very hot curries that I denied did any harm 😳
