Try Adrian Flux for modified car insurance, I've had some seriously modified cars and paid less that non modified prices 😯

GF's £17 a month for the horse seems good value since he fell over and cut his knee 12 days ago, the bill is currently just under £2,000 and now down to just weekly vet visits, but it's going to take 3 months to heal!!

It's a a bit of a gamble not insuring IMO.

I'm currently seeing a physio for Tennis elbow, and the advice there is not to rest, yes, it will seem to get better, but then as soon as you return to normal activities the pain will return.

He reconed the ligament damage leaves scar tissue like most injuries, so little and frequent stretching exercise are the way to go, this included the electric shock type things during visits to him.

No idea if Golfers is the same, that's on the inside of the forearm as opposed to tennis on the outside I believe.

Not sure what the mountain needs to be made of for Mountain Kings to grip, but I'm yet to find it!

Came on new bike, can't wait to get rid of them!!

Perfectly understandable to avoid Apple products when they won't include forms of expansion or swappable batteries for when you can't recharge. The salesman will tell you you can charge it from your PC or your car cigarette lighter etc, but there are plenty of times I'm away from these for long enough to run out of 'puff', don't get their reluctence to include extenal slots, USB or SD, whatever or swappable batteries?

I'd always go for products where I have more choice!

My mum bought a really chaep one, made fab bread, broke after a few months, no longer made, put more money towards a 'better' one, made rubbish bread, took it back, paid out even more, made rubbish bread, gave up!

Couple of years later, original cheapy re-appeared in Tesco or somewhere, now even cheaper, still makes the best bread!!!! I'm sure it's only a matter of ingredients as previously mentioned, but it does make you laugh when the cheapest is the 'best'!

If you are using Avid brakes and shifters you could use the Avid Matchmakers to mount both, alas, sold my bike with them on a few months ago, so no pics!

The double thumb shift must be catching as my new bike that is XT equipped now does the same, which was quite a relief, I hate learning new shifting operations, only just got out of the habbit of waving my right thumb around on my SS after 18 months 😳

Hmm, not sure about that, think my mate John might have pipped him ….

Actually you are not far wrong, reminds me of a calc I did a while ago
    Silver (todays price)= £382/kilo
    Remedy 9.9 = £520/kilo

Haven't seen the weight published, but those figures above put it heavier than my 'cheap' old 2010 Zestey 714!!

Can't really see what you can do wrong with a rotor!

I'm currently using Superstar brake pads in at least one of my bikes, I can't remember which one and don't fail to stop on any one of them!

I used to have some SuperStar rigid carbon forks on a 29er, never any problems, only got rid of them because the frame and forks I'd gathered my components for finally arrived 6 months late!! These were IDENTICAL to Nuke Proof ones, the 'detailing' gave it away, but the differnece in price was ridiculous!

Got SuperStar ceramic BB bearings running in my SingleSpeed (about 6 months now) no problems …….. !!

Try things for yourself rather than presuming you'll die if you use anything from SS!!

No secret is made of SS sourcing components from factories also producing the same goods for other retailers.

I bet if you were in Taiwan and wandered past a few factories, you could probably replace countless bike parts, trainers etc at 10% of the price you'd pay in the UK …………

I've managed to do something similar with 819s and Nevegals but only when the pressure was too low (20psi – I'm about 70kg).

I've got less than 20psi in a mountain king 2.4 on my front XT rim, I weigh 84kg + kit!! Never any issues off road, but I take it carefull on grippier tarmac/concrete surfaces.

Twelve50 in Frodsham, cracking shop, nice guys walked out with my shiny SS

Not been in there, but the Indian used to be good about 10 years ago!

    Does Halfords count?

Got a call this morning to say my Charge Plug (on the cycle2work scheme) was in, went to pick it up this evening, they got it out, failed dismally with the paperwork and wouldn't let me have it!!

I didn't swear at them, there was already someone else there doing that!

I calmly (externally) went downstairs and asked if there was a manager in the store, no surprise there wasn't, but I got the "duty manager" I think he was identifiable by the fact his hair was red and black instead of a single colour! He said he'd sort it though – and FAILED!!!

Eveything was in place for me, I had everything I needed, I even logged in to THEIR website in THEIR store to find my NI number that they needed for some reason, which showed my application was approved, which it must have been to order an unusual bike.

Despite having 2 forms of photo id, my bank card, credit card and letter of collection they wouldn't let me take the bike!

It cost me an hour of my life, the hassle of putting my bike carrier on the car and evenwhen offering them my credit card details by way of gaurantee, I've still got to go back on Monday – WANK3RS!!!!

The only person in there of any use was a guy in a B&Q shirt who'd popped in for some paint (from the B&Q store next door) and ended up adjusting someones gears and talking a girl through giving a refund on a till as he used to work there!!!!!!!

Sorry, that might have turned in to a bit of a rant!

Does anyone else think the carbon 456 looks good? If Batman had a bike…

I think they look good, not seen one in the flesh, but many angles in pictures, just build it up Stealth Bomber'esque!! Mind you, when I was a 'little younger' I always fancied getting a huge Yank convertible to build a batmobile replica …. !! 😆

That's funny, I heard it was a new 'record' before I went to the supermaket for a big shop, filled the car up with fuel, came home, cooked dinner, watched 30 mins of the footy, and it's STILL ON!!!

The set has nearly lasted longer than the longest match ever!! 😯

Whoever they meet in the next round should have an easy time of it!
