I think that the manager and all the players have to take full responsibility for the way the world cup campaign has gone. Not one member of the whole set up can come away and say they gave 100% or are happy with the way the campaign went. However, fair play to the supporters, loads of them out there, made themselves heard and seen no trouble afaik and they deserved more.

Can't take anything away from Germany, well played and deserved the win. We have quite a bit of work to do. No excuses, we were not good enough. England fans have been terrific in their support though.

Get the bike shop to sort it out as it is their mistake. Therefore if you have a problem with it in the future then you take it back to them. If you do the work then your warranty is void.

You have to say fair play to Germany, they really are doing the job.

Good on England, They have kept their heads after a dubious ref's call. I reckon they can build on their performance in the second half. All to play for.

wow what world do you live in?
    Posted 13 minutes ago # Report-Post

I live in a world where occasionally I have to employ people based on what they can produce and not based on their past. I have employed people that have criminal records and I have asked them if they have a criminal record. If we have work in schools or government buildings, our customers might need to check on the past of the guys I send to site as a record can be an issue to some of those customers. Therefore, I would rather find out if one of my guys has a record from that guy and not a third party after that check has been done.

I don't know if you have to declare it or not but if that period of your life is behind you, then let them know. A bit of honesty might be admired by your potential employer.

All of the towns mentioned are quite nice places to live actually, crime is low, easy access to the countryside, well served town centres. From Guildford the train to Waterloo takes about 35 mins and goes every 15 mins approx. Guildford has quite a lot going on for it's size, Guilfest music festival, Surrey County show, cricket matches, lots of sports clubs.

From Guildford I can ride to Tunnel Hill, Surrey Hills, North Downs and the Devils Punchbole areas, so don't need a car to get a good ride out. The university is pretty big in Guildford and has recently opened a big new sports centre that's open to the public. The town centre has some good restaurants and pubs (the George Abbot is good for watching the rugby, I think it shows live tri nations matches). A couple of area's in Guildford that aren't too desirable to live in, Park Barn and Bellfields, but they're really not that bad. Lots of very nice areas. For around a grand a month you could buy a house/flat.

You also have lots of very attractive villages around Surrey but I wouldn't like to say what rental availability is like. These smaller villages seem to all have huge houses that command huge rents.

And the riding is far far better from Guildford :D

I used to have a Honda S2000 and the gear box on that was a joy to use. I swore that I would never own an automatic but circumstances dictated that I had to get an auto as I do a lot of work miles. I'd now have to say that the auto makes a big difference to driving especially in town, it takes so much hassle away and makes driving easier as you don't have to worry about gears. If I were to get a weekend/play car I would have a manual, for everything else an auto.

Not sure if you are flexible enough to have a look along the coast just past Weymouth as there is a hotel called Moonfleet Manor Hotel and is very kiddie friendly. The location is fantastic, the food is good, loads to do at the hotel for parents and kids and it has a really nice feel to the place.

Always get a buzz from seeing wild animals when out and about.Special ones so far…

UK – Sea otters, sea eagles and London's parrots and parakeets.
Egypt – Amazing coral dwelling fish.
NZ – Pod of killer whales about 150 metres from the beach.
Nepal – Rhino, was very close too.
Best "missed" wild animal – when camping high in the mountains in Nepal woke up in the morning and a set of snow leopard footprints (allegedly) in the snow around our tents.

When the banking crisis started we (as a construction company) were doing ok. Enough work to keep everyone going but no increases in rates, to be expected really.
As time goes on I am getting more concerned. We have let people go due to not enough work. Rates have been going down and cash flow problems have been a serious issue. Not being paid on time by customers means you can't procure the materials to complete your ongoing work which means you don't get paid and that is an endless cycle. Waiting to see what the budget has to offer and take it from there.
Low mortgage rates mean that I have a bit of flexibility on a personal level, so I would rate that at about 3. Low rates also mean that in business you can also be financially flexible so I would rate that at about 7. If rates start going up significantly I believe you could add 2.5 points to both totals.
I have to remember that I have my health, friends and family etc and so if the worst does happen, I will be able to pick myself up and have another go at it. :D

Try some cobalt drill bits and use some quality cutting compound. What rpm are you running the drill at? Might be an idea to have the drill running slowly.

With a good deposit/LTV rate go and see HSBC in the branch. Tell them what you want and be prepared to open a HSBC Advantage Account. They have some great deals and they are trying to increase the market share so you could do ok. Many of their products state a charge of £999.00 but with a bit of chit chat you might get them to reduce that to £99.00

Some interesting opinions going on here. It appears to me that some STWers look at the Mid East problem with little understanding of the other sides problems and concerns. That's a good way of achieving not a lot, just like the whole middle east issue itself.

If you look at the troubles in N.I (more complex issues in Mid East but similar issues)you had two sides that couldn't live together and it took an amazing individual (Mo Mowlem) to bring them together. She had an amazing determination to find a solution and to me was a very inspirational lady. A determined, forward looking individual like Mo to bring people together, coupled with focused international pressure on all sides will bring a solution to the problem as no matter how fascist, racist, violent, hateful either side happen to be or regard the other side of being has to happen. We can't turn the clock back now so people in the Mid East have to live together.
The "aid convoy" fiasco could have been avoided if Egypt and Israel had invited the ships to dock in one of their ports and they could have requested that the UN inspect the cargo. Then Israel/Egypt could have temporarily lifted their blockade and forwarded the "aid" on. The supply of arms can be limited if the USA/UK and Iran/Syria quit their blinkered support for either side etc etc.

What is needed is the political will power ON BOTH SIDES to sort the mess out and until that happens it will be business as usual in the Mid East, unfortunately.

    IMHO :D

If your money will stretch far enough, then go for Hilti. They should last a life time, very good 2 year warranty and they will even come and pick the tools up and deliver them back to you if they do go pop.

I like Sinn watches and have been quite tempted to get one myself. I like the look of them and there is some interesting engineering in some of them. They can be a pain if or when you need a service or repair but still well worth a look.

I've got a job in Marylebone and quite often there is a Dubai plated CLS Merc and 911 Turbo both in matt black, parked in the same carpark I use. Both look good and the paint finish seems excellent.I would guess they have both had some serious money spent on them as when the owner starts them up the sound of the engines is amazing and far from standard. I think the finish looks very good on the right car and I am liking the look of the Focus.

Rockhopper – Being self employed will not have an adverse effect on your ability to re-mortgage so long as you have a good LTV rate. I have just re-mortgaged (last week), am self employed/company director and got the best available rate out there.
