    kerley claims….

The inherent risk of crime is to end up in jail, fined, community service etc,.

I have to disagree with you on this, as you appear to completely disregard the victims.

Crime effects the victims. Loss of property, physical injury, psychological damage and even serious life threatening injuries or death. It was not the choice of innocent members of public to be a victim of these moped gangs.

The scallywags involved with this crime are prepared to throw acid in peoples faces, threaten with hammers, knives and even machetes. Many are prepared to carry out their violent threats. Some are stealing 100 phones an hour and that’s after the moped they are riding has been stolen from someone. Quite often stolen by a delivery driver trying to provide for their family.

Moped crime is out of control. Something is being done.

I believe the Met are aware that the vast majority of moped crime is carried out by a remarkably small number of scallywags. IIRC the Met stopped one group from operating and the fall in crime was disproportionate to the small amount of arrests. I don’t see the present tactic being used by the Met as unreasonable as the scallywags have become emboldened as they believe they are untouchable. I’m sure the local communities are happy with resultant drop in moped crime.

I would like to think it isn’t a long term solution but in the short term I congratulate the Met on their approach. It works.

IIRC, I read an article about the 2004 Tsunami and the article claimed there were very few casualties amongst the tribes of the A & N Islanders as they moved to higher ground when they sensed something unusual was happening. I’ll try to find it.

I find the Islanders fascinating and I’m very jealous of anyone that has visited the areas where foreigners are permitted. I do hope they are left completely alone and the infrastructure that has crept in is left to the jungle.

Maybe you should embrace your new textdoor neighbour gentleman friend?

He might be a lovely man and if you gave him a chance, a nice warm friendship could emerge. You might have lots of things in common, maybe a hobby or something?

Aren’t you just a little bit curious as to whom your new gentleman friend might be?

    Madonna + 1.

Utter brilliance from her for decades now. I’m not a great fan and my favourite track by her is a cover. Nobody comes close to being able to reinvent herself like she has done and I fully expect we will hear from her again in the future.

It was Jezza himself that said There is no place for antisemitism in the Labour Party. We must drive it out of our movement for good?

So if the leader comments on it, doesn’t that mean it does indeed link to the labour party? If you haven’t already seen it, go and watch Jezza’s speech from 8th August on the subject and decide for yourself.

It’s more than clear to anyone that cares to read the BBC article that it isn’t the Labour party that’s is being investigated by the Met. According to the article the “Police have launched a criminal inquiry into allegations of anti-Semitic hate crimes <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>within the Labour Party</span>.”

Unless you know something that isn’t being reported at the moment then the claims stand. Should article not be discussed? If that is what you believe, then I would be interested why you want to gag any discussion on the article?

Police investigation of Facebook posts?  It’s just a rerun of the Monty Python sketch…….

With the tragic murder of Jo Cox in June 2016, I would think that any claims of violence towards our MPs should be investigated

Indeed. Tory MPs talking about stabbing the prime minister are deplorable. But I don’t see what that had to do with Labour?

So are you now saying threats against MPs should be investigated?

    Maybe you disagree?

It’s now being reported on the BBC.

Maybe it will be handily brushed under the carpet by Drj’s police chiefs?

Reports are surfacing of a police investigation into online anti semitic hate crime within the Labour Party.

Hopefully it is nothing more than a campaign by disgruntled elements within the party……

It is deeply disturbing that Labour aren’t ahead of the tories by around 7-8 points at the moment. An unpopular and divided party led by an unpopular PM. And just when the country needs a great PM in waiting. Oh well…….

That A6 doesn’t sound a bad car but I’d be tempted by the A8.

I would think a lot of the A8’s were possibly bought and looked after by a more enthusiast owner and for the money you pay, you get an awful lot of car.

This looks like a good car, its older than your A6 but with a bit of research I’m sure you could find a better/newer model.

And if I was in the market I’d give a kidney for this one…..

I found Killing Eve to be brilliant and enjoyed it much more than The Bodyguard. I liked the story, characters and music.

Some of the music has been played on 6Music recently and I was surprised that most of it is quite recent. A friend happened across the set of season 2 in London this week whilst they were filming and saw the lovely Jodie Cromer.

+ 1 for the Cwellyn Arms campsite.

Recently stayed in their cottage next to the campsite and spoke to a few folk camping. All were happy with the showers and they looked great when we had a look. The pub is fine and it’s on the quieter side of Snowdon. Beddgelert is a short drive.

As someone said on the “news” thread, the BBC are getting more like the mailonline everyday.

The BBC will be monitoring the amount of clicks each article gets and will push the more popular stories more. Tragic for the family but I doubt they have a say in what the BBC puts on its news front page.

In other news some people are has changing their name FFS…….

If cost is an issue then upstairs in a 747 is an affordable alternative over a G650, although there is no denying the Gulfstream is a lovely aeroplane.

I have been asked to get my dog DNA tested by my vet amongst others, but for some unknown reasons I’m rather skeptical of the accuracy of the tests. I did put some photos of him on the bull lurchers facebook page for others to try to identify him (a lady on there is very very good at identifying dogs parentage but even she couldn’t agree on mine). Stick some piccies of your girl on here and we can have a good guess as to her origins.

Anyway, you know the law when it comes to dog posts, no pictures of said dog and your post gets deleted…….

@ Winston – it sounds like your envious of the farmer and potential home owners. Sorry but I find your post a bit odd TBH.

Why does it matter what size the house is or isn’t? When the house you live in was built did it inconvenience anyone at the time? What do you want, financial compensation? How much profit is the developer making? Is the farmer in financial difficulties?

I got held up by a truck full of expensive cars, where can I apply for a bit of compo?

Bloody cheeky gits building houses for people to live in!!!

If people didn’t need or want houses to live in to live in, we would not have any of these pesky builder types inconveniencing good honest folk on the way to & from their houses…….

@ Drj Are you referring to this article? – https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-45550003

I think that rape allegations should be taken very seriously and if they are found to be false then the accuser should face the full force of the law. I don’t think the article is pro Tory or untrustworthy.

Where do you think is a better source of trustworthy news?

I think all the main political parties and politicians are given a far too an easy time by the BBC (and others) and they all need to be challenged for their lies, lack of action and biased views.

Where do you go to get your news?

It would be if it looked liked Serena Williams, rather than a caricature of a black person from the 1930s

Also not helped by the cartoonists odd decision to turn Osaka blonde, wtf is that about?

    I believe Osaka dyed her her for the final. –     https://www.today.com/video/us-open-winner-naomi-osaka-speaks-out-on-controversial-serena-williams-match-1316645443687?v=raila&amp;

Could you provide a modern cartoon of an African-American that doesn’t play on the looks of the subject? Or a cartoon that definitely looks like Serena but without looking like a caricature of her?

What’s up with Chukka? Presumably he can’t stand Boris Johnson robbing him of the limelight?

This plus lots – he is another pea from the same pod – me, me me – to hell with the country, or the party come to that.

He appears to have support of those that voted for him, with an enviable majority of 68.5%, so he appeals to those he represents!

But still, best not disagree with Momentums Corbyn inspired Labour if you want to keep your job.

You know its basically a VW DSG right?

I think they are different units but similar ideas. Not my quote but……

The DSG was developed by BorgWarner (same company that makes the Haldex and VAQ diffs), the PDK was developed by Porsche decades before the DSG came out. Currently the PDK is made by ZF Friedrichshafen, it shares zeros parts with the BorgWarner unit.

The setups are similar now though; they both use twin shaft, twin clutch, wet clutch systems. The DQ250 DSG found in the MK7 R is the exact same system found in the GTI too FYI, nothing other than different software for optimized shift points for each turbo. The DQ250 is rated at ~450TQ in stock form, no idea what the PDK is rated at but TQ can be much higher in a 911.

Happy to be proved wrong though.
