That instagram account is meltdown gold.
For a bit of perspective (not defending them) I contacted Marino who has been doing their cheaper steel frames to get a sample gravel frame as a test before a small batch produced. After about six months he built us a front triangle, then disappeared. Sent a couple of emails, got nothing back. After xmas got an email with pictures of 95% finished frame and basically ‘sorry we had problems, do you still want this?’ replied same day saying may as well, it’s basically finished and actually looks pretty rad. No reply, two months. So there is actually a lovely gravel frame sitting in Peru with our tasty trees engraved on it. With anti toe overlap geo.
Short version, dealing with people in other countries is hard and this is why real brands visit their vendors.
pigynFree MemberWe at pedals have the opportunity to bring in as many or as little as we like, I would like to hold some in stock for the UK if the interest was there. Happy to order you a doc hawk and get some rootdowns at the same time :p
Can also get the clothing as well, which may help offset the cost of the frames
pigynFree MemberWell while people are looking at Chromag, a cheeky wee derail..
How much interest would there be to get easy access to these in the UK? Both the TW made ones and the BC. I am sitting looking at a price list for importing some, but the RRP would be pretty high once we get them over.
If there was enough interest we could take the plunge and get stock in the UK, but I am a bit hesitant when the RRP on the TW frames could be pushing £775+..
But then again they look lovely and are super nice folk to boot.
Talk me out of/into it..
pigynFree MemberIf you are going to strip it down and rebuild it then just change the seals, and the puck comes in the seal kits.
pigynFree MemberBrother Cycles Big Bro, I have been riding it SS for about six months but built plenty up as geared machines.
pigynFree MemberOrbea Gain – starts at £1600 in both drop bar and flat bar options. Takes up to a 700x40mm tyre so fully capable of offroad funnigans. Sold quite a few, everyone has been very happy with them, I have the carbon version as a demo bike waiting to be built in the new year to do some testing.
pigynFree Member“I have a 120mm one and it’s got lots of play in every direction, I wouldn’t have another. I am really impressed with my one up dropper though, solid as a rock”
In all functional ways, same seatpost innit. Both are good.
pigynFree MemberI sell them, the quality is top notch and paint has lasted better than anything else bar my P7. Ridden the Element for a year as a marathon/fun XC type bike and got on really well with it. If you are looking for Geometron-esk reach measurements they won’t be for you, but as well balanced fun mountain bikes they are spot on. Frame and bike pricing is pretty keen stacked up against similar competition.
Support from Greenover has been fantastic, they are a small team but have been really great with anything we have needed. They run their credit terms quite tight, perhaps that’s the true root of the other stores moaning 😀 😀
pigynFree MemberFrom what I gathered you can change the mix with the hardener or something like that. So the current stuff always remains quite soft, but seems to shrug off inpacts.
I am not a paint expert 😅
pigynFree MemberThat’s the one, did I get the name right? Train posting. Wouldn’t like to spend much time in the room with the sheet stamper.
Bug question is why are the Starlings the best thing ever and bang on trend but the same thing in alloy and 2lb lighter ‘out of date’ 😀 Not a slight against the Starlings, I like them too!
The only reason I don’t personally ride one is the lack of bottle, but I sell a lot of bottle-ready bikes that never even have a cage fitted so obviously a bit of personal choice there.
I was chatting to them about the paint as my P7 is the toughest thing I have ever owned, they have been trying a few different paint mixes over the last few years and quite a few of the cracks were just paint being too brittle and splitting. Now it remains softer which is the reason my bike has no chips even after being ridden into a tree downtube first, along with a year of Scottish grime.
I would also think some cracked as well, but that’s just life. Overall numbers are apparently pretty low.
pigynFree MemberThat video was a disappointment, chose not to share it on our shop page and did speak to them about it. They lost quite a few sales over it as well I think.
It was filmed very soon after the change of ownership, I think they were still just finding their feet. The latest factory tour Ben More filmed and shared a few weeks ago gives a much better impression.
pigynFree MemberSpamspamspam. I like these. Light, long, nimble, big tyre clearance. Re-did my sale page today and did photos for the last one – https://pedalsbikecare.co.uk/shop/2018-orange-clockwork-129-frame-large-29/
pigynFree MemberWhat wheel size do you need? We still have a couple of 27.5 sets currently at 150 and 170mm but they can be set anywhere.

pigynFree MemberI tend to just drive around with my lights on all the time. It’s Scotland, with the exception of this summer it’s usually overcast and grey. Not like it blinds anyone, although I do go through a few bulbs.
Tounge in cheek – why aren’t all cars high viz?
pigynFree MemberVolume is king! I am using the new HDs in 29×2.6 on my P7, they seem pretty nice. Have also run the NN in 2.6 on the front of my XC bike, also a good tyre.
If you can fit the 2.6 in the back, go NN rear HD front. Perhaps test with the 2.6 HD then if it doesnt fit just run it on the front 👌
pigynFree MemberI have bough a few things from these guys including the SFF desktops we run our shop on, always been great with options to upgrade RAM/hard drives out of the box
pigynFree MemberThe Smuggler carbon frames are a bit tight on top, but not bad as the internet doom mongers make out. My girlfriends setup is 25mm rims with a new style 2.35 Hans Dampf and it’s all good.
On the flip side, they fit 27.5×2.8 REALLY well with bags of room all round, when I get round to servicing my plus wheels they are going on for ‘testing’
pigynFree MemberHuh, interesting! Didn’t see any hints online! Looking forward to reduced offset formula forks
pigynFree MemberI am running offers on some LT 29ers just now..XL Sentinels, Large alu and carbon frames, large Stage 6 frame etc etc

Let’s keep this to shameless pluggery and less cotic bashing 🐈
pigynFree MemberSounds sort of like the first bike I ever sold through my own business! Did you custom build it yourself or through a shop? If so, what shop?!?
pigynFree MemberBut the internet is always cheaper eh? RRP is £4.60 each, bit shan if people are charging £10 for them.
If you have a local shop that services them worth popping in to buy one.
If you are anywhere near Edinburgh I can sell you one.
pigynFree MemberI heard bigjim couldn’t actually handle the golfies and moved somewhere flat, until he can get a bike with more reaches 😀
pigynFree MemberTo be honest the whole reason we have and can get demo bikes is because we don’t really like telling people what to ride, much better to test things and figure it out for yourself.
You can’t pigeon hole bikes by wheelsize, I personally like 29ers, but a lot of people prefer 27.5.
Great bikes are great bikes regardless. The Rallon is a great bike, so is the Sentinel, but so is the Patrol. Horses for courses, giddy up.
Lots of love, pedals x
pigynFree MemberI have ridden one loads, about 1000km off road SS in the months I’ve had it. Loads of fun, is really good on singletrack and very capable. Pretty light as well, got a nice compliance to the frame. Highly recommend, and would even if I didn’t sell them. But I chose to sell them because I like them. Built my one on a bit of a whim because I had some old 29er wheels, bars and chainset, but had some of my best rides on it this year, really pleasantly bridges the gap between my gravel bike and real mtbs. Plus after spending the last 15 years fixing everyone elses gears it’s nice to not need to look after mine!
Comes with QR rear plates but £15 for 12×142 plates and £13 for a brand X thru axle and you have 142, 100x15mm front wheels fit with an adapter and QR, assuming you can’t just change the end caps in your hub. That’s how mine is set up.
The front being QR I think adds to the ride feel, I have found previous bolt through rigids a bit rough. Had it down built ‘enduroish’ style trails with no movement, as ever, just use a Shimano QR.
Loads of pictures of mine up on our instagram along with some custom builds inc a drop bar offer we have on at £1499 –

pigynFree MemberGossip is halfords confirmed. Might just be gossip though. In edinburgh they are less than 50 metres away from each other (cycle republic)
pigynFree MemberWhere abouts are you? I ordered a medium Oiz demo of the new frame on launch week, but current delivery is March! My shop is in Edinburgh.
pigynFree MemberWhat toasty says up there – really nice stuff spray bike. Have a look on their socials 👌
Air hardening powdercoat
pigynFree MemberTape – https://www.zoro.co.uk/shop/adhesives-and-sealants/pipe-sealants/55-pipe-sealing-cord—50m
Gloop – 577
pigynFree MemberWhenever you re-assemble use a fresh o-ring, and as above it can snag when doing it up.
We used to use some medium strength loctite that sets in oil, cant remember the number just now. Worked pretty well and we now use it in place of blue for most things. Seems to set better and can be easily undone.
For reverb seal heads now settled on two wraps of thin thread tape from loctite. Not had any sealheads loosen since switching about a year ago.
pigynFree MemberI was a bit fitter than you (but not fit fit, just like long rides!) but whenever I went out on an epic then got the train to work the next day would get ill. Diet OK, better than a lot but with too much sugar. Spent a large part of three years with re occuring coughing/cold. Took an online blood test (Thrive). Yes could have gone to GP but why stretch the NHS for the sake of £30. Came back with super low vit D, despite spending much time as possible outside.
Started on the suppliments and now been two years without any major bug. Fight them off before they progress from ‘run down’ including my usual xmas in bed with flu that had become a yearly feature.
So perhaps go and get some bloods done. Or do them online if you don’t fancy waiting at the GPs and like emailed graphs you dont understand.
pigynFree MemberPark at the Gary bridge and do a bungie jump after your ride :p
For the main it’s one climb and most things are on trailforks. A nice order is DD, V1, Conans, Riviera, Jalfrazi, Divine Intervention. For rising difficulty. Or reverse it 😅
As above on the whole it isn’t very dug in and the beauty is the condition of it. Don’t skid and cut the corners, leave it nice for other people to ride 👌🍻
pigynFree MemberIt isn’t super neat if you look close, tiny zip tie right by the BB to help make sure the hose doesn’t clip the crank arm. I wouldn’t do it on a customers build unless they ask for it but it worked out pretty nice for a home build. My Yeti ASRc took a lot of dremel action to get the same result!
If you look at our instagram feed there are quite a few pictures of the bike, but no more of the cable routing I think.
She loves it, racing on it again this weekend solo 10@Kirroughtree 👌
pigynFree MemberIt isn’t very clear in this but you can see the double exit in the down tube. The dropper is fully internal until then, and the brake hose is taken from the top chainstay guide and then under the BB, it runs neatly, and into the gear cable port on the down tube. Everything is anti rattle sheethed. And yes you are left with redundant guides, but they aren’t that offensive.

pigynFree MemberI am 5 9ish, rode our demo large and found it a bit long to chuck around in a way hardtails are good for, but would have been nice looking for a stable beast.
The one I built for my girlfriend has the rear brake routed inside where the gear cable goes in, then out of the dropper post hole, both doubled up with different bungs stolen from othe frame kits designed for double cables, that I had to modify slightly to get a nice fit. If I didn’t have ready access to loads of bungs then it probably isn’t worth it, but it can be done if you are obsessed with looped over cables.
pigynFree MemberEdward2000, let me know if you want pictures of our MyO stealth black XL 🙂
pigynFree MemberWow there is some weirdness going on here. They are pretty cheap compared to a lot of hardtail XC carbon frames or road frames, they are also pretty much the only option if you want a pretty long reach, very low standover fun bike. My girlfriend races long distance stuff on one, bike built up silly light and she is pretty quick on it downhill.
You can loop the brake over UK if you share the gear cable port, and change or modify the bungs.
If you want nearly the same geo but 1lb heavier I can sell you an Orange Clockwork 129 frame for £375, but that sort of misses the point. If you want a fun carbon 29er frame that’s light but with decent geo, this is the one.
Certainly not open mould, why would any vendor make something like this or the throttle with the hope a few companies would pick up on it? Far too specialist.
pigynFree MemberHeyyyyy James from Pedals here. The large black custom MyO we have is sold and leaving tomorrow, we do have 1x L Purple M10 with fork, 170 seatpost and wheelset upgrades, 1x large blue mint with 150mm seatpost upgrade, and 1x XL MyO M10 Stealth Black with fork, wheelset and 170mm seatpost upgrades 🙂
All in stock now waiting for me to have a spare few seconds to get them online…
Cheers!
