Oh – we are running it ‘neutral’ at the moment, not the slackest setting

Really nicely, I am a big fan of the linkage. I haven’t spent a huge amount of time on the Spitfire yet as I have been loving ‘testing’ the Prime 29er. Trying to find the time to play on the Spitfire but illness and business so far have conspired against me.

I have ridden with people while they test it and it as always gone down very well. One person even wanted the front end higher, this is 650b, 160mm, with 20mm spacers and 10mm low rise bars, so even if you like a low front end then 0-10mm spacers with flat bars should get the feel you are looking for.

Feel free to pop down for either a sit on/car park test or get it booked up & take it to Glentress/etc.

Where are you based? We have one as a demo bike set up 650 with 160mm X-Fusion Sweeps and it feels perfect.

We are pedals in Edinburgh, pictures of the build on our facebook.

Not sure if this is overstepping the line for advertising or not.. so sorry if it’s out of line.

We still have one Medium Lemon&Lime for sale, and soon to list our ex-demo Medium Orange as well.

Ex demo will be £2200 with Reverb, 40% off.

Yes they do, they just haven’t put them up online yet. A friend bought a set last week, J-Pull. Not sure about straight pull though. Any Hope-stocking lbs should be able to order you a set

It is really good fun. How did you get to the top? We usually head up a disgusting climb after the fun cliff edge singletrack on the A9 side. Last time there I tried to find a route into the top from the other side (mill dam) so you could do a loch ordie loop then finish with the caves pass, but everything that looked decent on a map led to dead ends.

cbmotorsport – They are lovely bikes, I have spent most of the year popping around on the lovely 29″ version.

We have one of the last large 26″ frames (black, 2013)left in the UK and are just about to list it as an offer for £1200, or with a nice matching set of X-Fusion Slants (34mm, 140 max) for a little bit more.

We can post throughout the UK if you aren’t local to us.

Give us a call if you want to have a chat – number on the website:

The Transition Bandit 29 is great fun, we have a cheap one for sale up in Edinburgh but can post all over. 2013 frame with 2012 build kit. Could add a Reverb and still keep it under £3000, even leaving a wedge of cash left over as well.

    It’s also pretty and blue

They are really, really good fun (not just saying that as I have some frames for sale, see below!)

Really nimble and with a great turn of speed under power, just all round great fun. For once most of the mags have it spot on, it’s a great bike and can take you through all the UK has to offer. If I could afford to have two mountain bikes I would still be riding mine, doing the frame swap was a sad day (to a new 120mm Bandit 29) but I wanted something a bit more forgiving for some enduro races etc.

My old frame is a Medium Blue, it has about 4 months use and a few stone chips etc but no dents and polishes up well. Looking for £300 ONO for this one, but not yet got round to advertising it.

My shop is also selling a new Medium Green that I put a chip in while building for a customer. We are looking for £375 for this one.

I will most likely buy another one before next winter, but right now don’t have the cash and one bike will do. Next build will be done very light, rigid and 1×10. The old build was 2×10 and with run of the mill parts and still came in around 28lbs with flat pedals and a reverb.

Wors – we also have a few medium 2012 frames for sale (new) as well as a medium ex demo Bandit 29, and soon an ex demo 26″ as well, as soon as the replacement arrives.

The new frames and ex demo 29 are up on our mini web shop, they are listed at 1050, but feel free to give us a call and we will see what we can do.

They are really nice bikes, just waiting on one of the new 120mm 29ers arriving for myself, after riding the demo 130/140 quite a bit.

We are Pedals Bike Care in Edinburgh, a quick google should pull up our site.

Hi – we are the people with the ex-demo TransAM on pinkbike. As has been said before they are on the heavier side, but are rockets downhill. We may still be able to do a 2012 build kit (new) at a discount to go with the ex demo frame, get in touch through pinkbike or give us a call if you want to chat about them.

Really nice bike, great fun. Looks like the review is now premier only, but it mostly went ‘This bike is pretty ace’

kashima uppers and a fit cart for the 36’s? And a set of 2012 decals, obviously. Brings them bang up to date and costs less than buying new

http://www.mrsite.co.uk is quite a good way of building simple web shops, you have have something up and running in a few hours with a paypal based web shop, any number of pages, matrix items etc for £99/yr inc url etc. Worth having a look and seeing what you can do with it, it’s quite powerful in the right hands.

They share the same chainline. The slx double has steel inserts for the pedal thread (stronger). If you never use the outer ring anyway then why change to a 36t? If you spend all your time in the middle and are happy with the gearing, then why bother switching. Something light like a gumut bash is about £35.

There is so much riding there I moved to Scotland to get away from it, just couldn’t cope.

Sorry can’t let this one slide – ride learnie red rock on the black isle. The blue is fantastic, the black is great, there are hidden (but obvious)downhill tracks, it’s massively under ridden and under rated, and it’s always sunny.

The ferry we tried to get should be running from cromarty to nig, so it’s an easy link to golspie with some good seafood by the harbour if you want it.

In a trip with laggan, golspie, balblair and learnie, learnie was added in as a bonus, turned out to be the best of the trip. Perhaps not as fun as laggan black, but longer, and it has no hype, so we weren’t expecting much.

Since been back and it was quite possibly even better. And theres also loads of fruit for the picking. And lets not forget the black isle beer.

    I wish I wasn’t working.

MX pivots do wear out, rebuild kits tend to run to more like £100+ which is about £90 more than most riders will pay for replacement pivot kits.

Jerky is not the same as biltong.

Jerkey is cut into very thin strips then marinated in something very sweet (BBQ style things most popular but chilli etc also work great)
you then hang it over a smokey camp fire for a few hours until ready.

Biltong is cut into larger thicker strips, marinated in first salt then vinegar for a while (quick dip to a few hours depending on taste/quality of meat) then rubbed in flavouring and air cured somewhere warm and dry. Unless you live somewhere warm and dry (not the UK) don’t just hang it over a branch. Flies with land on it lay eggs you will eat them then be sick all over your bedroom like in that film.

A biltong box is like an inverted grow box.

Nope. The V8s are cast with a bearing cup inside, there is nowhere to seat the V12s sealed bearing.

Alpine bikes in edinburgh are also looking for a mechanic, and also (i think) working without one at the moment, so could be quite keen to get someone on board. If you are qualified and with a bit of experience they would be stupid to not give you a go.

The section of blue trail at learnie red rock that starts after the entrance to the ‘freeride’ trail..

Just checked the map and it’s called ‘callachy downhill’ and is 1.2km of linking berms, great for learning scrubs on.

Also I think everything we rode during a bike village holiday, but I try not to think about the fact that other countries have better riding than here.

I sometimes have to use them if the urinals are too low. I get two streams at 90deg to each other, if the loos too low I get wee on the man next to me.

So I sit down in cubicles instead.

As for the rest, it’s rank, and will mainly be homeless people (I think?)

OK sorry I had no idea it was being sold to reduce baldness. I just thought it was a ‘wake up in the morning with super zing freshness of a MONSTER ™ infused shower gel.

I don’t think a caffeine shower gel will stop you balding.

Read all about it.. Read all about it.. STW in ‘chemicals cannot be absorbed through skin’ Shocker.

I guess I had better throw away any topical anaesthetic I have, including ibuprofen gel as well as deep heat etc, and might as well dip my hands in a bucket of liquid LSD, I am sure it will be fine.

1st google result. I think Canadians work the same as us, could be wrong though.

“How does a chemical enter my body through the skin?

Chemicals which pass through the skin are nearly always in liquid form. Solid chemicals and gases or vapours do not generally pass through the skin unless they are first dissolved in moisture on the skin’s surface.

The skin is the second most common route by which occupational chemicals enter the body. It consists essentially of two layers, a thin, outermost layer called the epidermis and a much thicker underlayer called the dermis. The epidermis consists of several layers of flat, rather tightly-packed cells which form a barrier against infections, water, and some chemicals. This barrier is the external part of the epidermis. It is called the keratin layer, and is largely responsible for resisting water entry into the body. It can also resist weak acids but is much less effective against organic and some inorganic chemicals. The keratin layer contains fat and fat- like substances which readily absorb chemicals which are solvents for fat, oil, and grease.”

Nice to see the helpful folk are out in force. Yes they do use the same olives/inserts, also your new brake should come with them as well. You will also have to find something to grip the hose clamps for hammering in the insert, they are quite a tight fit. Molegrips/slipjaw pliers or a vice work well. The hose clamps also come with new brakes.

What size and colour are you thinking about? I have a small 2010 in red I am looking to sell, it has only been on a few rides but I seem to have forgotten how to ride full bouncers so replaced it with an Alpine, not had a chance to put it on ebay yet.
