I did my TCL training with them and my girlfriend has had a few skills days with them, quality team and great coaching. Enjoy!

Well that’s why you can get ‘boost’ chainline XT cranks innit.

No idea about what works with your man tyres though

No large Smugglers at all – a couple more Mediums arriving in the next few weeks and that’s it. Just about to build a medium for myself once these new 34’s arrive :D

This whole thing is quite bizarre.

    Haha, sorry Mr Pink :D

Daveh – we are mechanics not web developers, my wordpress foo is weak and the stock control on the website is not accurate.

At the moment we have one of each colour in Large, and one medium Lime, with more medium Blacks on the way.

Just to be a bit clearer about availability for the rest of the year, they are NOT all sold out!

There are no more Large or XL available for shops to order, but shops may still have stock. We have a couple of larges left, but no XL for example. Other people may have XLs, we don’t know :)

Medium and Small are still available to order, but are running out fast. Just don’t be put off by people saying they are all sold out, they aren’t.

Only just seen this – chances are you were on the phone this morning but yes – we have two large frames left, one in each colour :)

I can’t speak for the one he is looking at but we love ours. Bought at 23,000 and now at 80,000, was just routine service parts until recently with a few more issues like glowplugs etc. Still not huge bills. Loads of space for toys and drives better than it should.

Makes people think you are a taxi and try to flag you down.

Stage one was on the ridge line towards Selkirk, ends on the Yair to Selkirk road. The only other trail I know of that wasn’t used starts off the SUW in the direction of Inners. Have a strava explore then mark anything downhill onto an os map. Then repeat the climb as much as you want. Double decker will need to dry out for a few weeks.

From the Yair side the best way up is to just follow the southern upland way. It’s direct, efficient height gain.

Nice and quick, none of that fire road nonsense.

Then yes, dead easy and the kits are on Superstar :)

I am not sure exactly what you are trying to do, but the hubs are the same as superstar Switch, so look at/order kits from him.

Totally fine and will often work really easily depending on the tyre. Just don’t stick TCS tyres on Stans rims ;)

For some reason I had thought that loam lover was one of Aarons, it looks like this isn’t correct so yeah, sorry Phil it is rubbish to see something you made get a years worth of traffic in a day. Once it dries out and what’s left of the topsoil smoothes out it should be great again :)

There are a few plus points for the trails that have come from this event, the ‘wet point’ re-routes on heart of darkness are now well bedded in, the trail after heart of darkness that has been closed since the felling is now open again and running great, and the new climb and descent (that looked like it was built for the event?) will be well bedded in and hopefully a lasting feature of the forrest.

I still think compared to the last event damage has been small, partly because the lack of timed ‘enduro’ dowmhill sections mean people haven’t been riding there for 2 months prior trying to scope lines.

I liked Metro Last Light and Bioshock Infinite most recently.

Everything coped very well today. A couple of sections worse for wear, loam lover and the old ‘wooden berm’ downhill track to sawmill road.

    Which was your section climingcragrat?

The new Transition TransAM has a nifty little rocking dropout setup to give adjustable cs length or chain tension while still being easy to remove and bolt through. Short as 418 rear and I think about 67deg HA.

AND it’s available in green which is the best colour for bikes

Yeah it could be a right mess after. Aaron does a lot of the building and ongoing maintenance anyway so sort of has a right to ruin them if he wants to ;)

There was a long argument about this on either here or trailscotland already so we won’t get back into it.

Funny as I love it because of the steep SA! Hate that feeling of pedalling ‘forwards’ when the bb is too far in front of the saddle. If it felt cramped climbing then size up ;)

I have heard talk of people fitting the 650b Spitfire/Rune dropouts to Phantoms and having clearance for 29+ tyres :D Would need RS1s or other mega clearance forks though.

I ran the Smuggler at 30% seated sag, which I think is a bit less than they say but it felt spot on. Would have been nice to have more time to play around with it. Got the same 30% on the Scout I am on tomorrow, will try out a few settings. Can’t get over how small and weird the wheels feel :D

I have been riding the Phantom for nearly nine months on everything from DH tracks/enduro steeps to big ‘classic’ hill days and plain old swoopy fun singletrack. It loves it all, never fails to put a smile on my face.

Smuggler is very close, plus points for being cheaper but minus points for not having a CC Inline which is magic in a shock.

Prejudiced because we sell them, but we choose to sell them because they are ace, rather than say they are ace because we sell them. But you will have to take my word for it..

Out of all the short travel aggressive 29ers I have ridden the Phantom and Smuggler are best. Flip a coin and pick one.

    I may be prejudiced! :D

If anything from Transition/Banshee/Yeti/Kinesis float your boat we have a range of demo bikes that you can book out to take down to GT/Inners.

    Transition Smuggler 1

    Banshee Phantom

    Transition Scout

    Yeti SB5c

    Pedals Bike Care

Not as big a range as a full demo day but we do try and make sure we keep the most popular in. Helps if you are/can squeeze onto a medium.

    Have fun looking at bikes!

Medium and if it feels a bit long seated stick a 35mm stem on instead.

In fact, you are bang in the middle of medium if you go on their size guide.

Yeah no need to be a bunch of dicks.

Glad you enjoyed the bike David – I can’t wait to get out on it myself. Possibly Monday!

Thanks for taking the time to write a decent review especially when there are still very few people to have ridden these in the real world, I am sure some folk will find it very useful :)
