is this the bite point adjust screw on the lever? if so its meant to have a c clip thing on the rear to stop this, if its another screw just ignore me and move along to someone more useful

i have the poc vpd pads and they are comfortable and give great protection , but i use them for uplift days, alps etc when I’m out for days riding i use other older 661 d30 things which are on there last legs but seem more suited to the job

… def cardboard companion here…if i travelled loads with my bike I’d prob get a bag for ease…but once or twice a year doesn’t make it worth the outlay…and i don’t think they offer any more protection….done trips with groups with both and had as much unlucky damage with both bag and box..also if you keep the box your bike arrived in it should offer good protection its been shipped from the factory in brand new state in it after all….Joe Barnes headed off to verbier last week with a cardboard box..keepin it real..

…sounds like a good deal, my only query would be lowering them, would that be to 140 or 150?
a 36 may be a bit beefy for less travel, 32 or 34 may be better option, (although its not available)
I’ve got a range of fox forks 32float 36 talas and 40S and love them all…never had an issue with them….

multi pass is great if your using the pools ( doesn’t cover aquaria now) 2 euro a day for access to pretty much everything and discounts on some of the more expensive things like high ropes in morz, does all lifts to.

with regards bikes, if your riding lots take your own but if its the odd day then hire…

…its all about the fit for me, nowt worse than having a full face list that not quite right…esp after a full day or more in it..unfortunately I’ve got a massive heed so choice on the budget end is ltd…i’m not the most gnar rider, (more nana style) but I’ve stacked it off something that seemed like nowt (and smashed my lid ) and was glad I had it on….got a bell transfer at mo…happy with it

not had a prob with pads, tyres, spares etc in box, last year my mate went for the kitchen sink approach and went over the 32kg.. they picked this up at easy jet check in counter, but were happy for him to open up the box and take a few bits out to get down to 32… It was still chock full of random stuff but they were happy to put it through…

Dan W, I think you might be wrong i travelled 2months back with easy jet, bike damaged in transit, easy jet paid in full no questions asked…no hassle, I was amazed. I didn’t make a claim on my own insurance at all but it was covered there to.

I may have just caught them as they were heading to the the pub though

ve, got a pod spine protector….its not the vest…just the spine, its light and comfortable and gives a large amount of protection but i use it for DH and though i don’t notice it at all, i think i would be going for a pack type one for general riding..ive had an evoc backpack for two years no complaints

My mate has one…its been great, (local northumberland an the alps) …and he thrashes bikes, and thats from me who has a long history of component destruction..
the only thing i was going to add was i read a review that favoured the rs versions over the bos… think it was the pb review…just said set up was better on the rs version, and cheaper to boot…

, theres the pool at morz and the aqua thing at avoriaz, there swimming lakes at montriond and les gets, theres a high ropes thing by the pool in morz. Local is is the Gorges du Pont du Diable, which is a sort of gorge cave thing… all the lifts up to pont nylon, mont cherry, are all good walks / views.. not my fave but theres loads for little ones at avoriaz as its a hotel complex, get the portes pass for 2 euro its worth it… theres loads…without mega expense or overly adventurous ( hello parapente and fantastic able)

I’ve used toricco in the past, always been fine and helpful, not sure what there stocking this year…but pds weekend is going to be tricky, a possibility is to fill in the bike show reg and demo a few things? you need to pay a deposit on a credit card i think but your going to need one of those wherever you hire

yup got a pair recently from wheelbase, been great, no snagging on seat, fairly light but well constructed…happy with the pockets as i don’t ride with stuff in them and prefer no pockets on shorts…. went to by a second pair but they had no more in black…

..If qr doesn’t work have a really good look at the pivot bearings i had a hairline crack in one, which was virtually impossible to see, but it caused a creak that near drove me mento’s trying to fettle it..

i think the pb advice is right theres plenty good 26 bikes to be had at good prices as long as you go and check them out. If yr purely going to take him to do DH then get a DH bike but theres no way he’s going to enjoy dragging one round a trail centre (like gt). It’ll be too pedally / hard work to keep momentum up on the shallower down hill bits.

if he can ride a balance bike, he’ll make the transition to normal bike without to much hassle…but i agree if he’s not into it don’t force him to do it, whats the point…it’ll end in tears (for you). just offer the opportunity to ride..if he wants to
