My tubeless S One blew through an internal patch this morning. The patch pushed through like Dovebiker mentioned. There was a 5mm cut
I have fitted an anchovie, I’ll let you know if I die tomorrow morning!

Turneround, I have that double sided stuff. It’s nice and thin and about 120mm wide.
    I’ll email you.

VX21 can be got from here
    https://www.profabrics.co.uk/products/x-pac-vx21-performance-pack-material?variant=6809805251

I use the VX and the 500d. VX for the main panels and the 500d for around the sides where it’s in contact with the frame. The VX is much lighter.

I think it was supposed to be sent to me. Anyhow, it’s been sent.
Looking at the site, I am not sure it is as clear as it could be. in the basket the ‘product’ is just Dunwich Dynamo XXV – 8/9 July 2017. No mention of coach tickets anywhere there.
Only if you read the bit right near the bottom of the FAQ does it mention the word ‘coach’ and ‘early bird ticket’ together!
Any how, I was more annoyed with the email I got. I will still be riding, it’s just left a bit of a sour taste.

This was an email I received from the organisers of this so called friendly ride.I asked for a refund for the Dunwich Dynamo, not what I expected at all. Looks like I wasn’t the only one confused about the tickets…

    Hi

Hmmmm – thought our site was clear?

How could it be clearer in your view?

    RTFI usually!

Jim – Chris – another refund I’m afraid

    Hello
I was confused as to whether the ‘Early Bird’ ticket was just to enable me to ride the Dunwich Dynamo. I have now found out that it is only for the coach.
As it wasn’t clear, can you please refund me the full cost of the ticket. It is still more than 5 months away, therefore I’d like the full cost returned please. My paypal address is the same as the one I am using here.
    Thank you for your understanding

Sharky, if you want to go down the electrical route, I have all the books needed for the domestic installation and Inspection and Test including 17th edition. You’ll need to get the amendments as I haven’t kept it up to date.
If you do a sparky course, you would need these and they are invaluable for when you’re on site.

You’re welcome to have them all. I’m in Suffolk but I’m sure there’s a way to get them to you.

Bought this Gaggia for £25. The previous owner didn’t descale it so the solenoid was blocked. He mistakenly replaced the pump and refitted the pressure valve the wrong way around. He got the hell in with it and sold it cheap. I cleaned it out and now have working machine, winner!

Thanks Jamie, I will add that to the list! I will mainly be on the East of the UK though.

    Here is my rough route

    http://www.strava.com/routes/5464091

I chose to ride around some of the lochs in the Highlands as opposed to heading straight for Ballater. Only 20miles longer!

Hi, sorry for the delay, I was preparing for Mayhem, and then recovering!

Thanks for the great ideas. And for the crowd sourcing the route in the Highlands. Thats the part I am most looking forward to.

But riding UP Glenshee, jeepers. My fully laden Mondeo struggled!

I will be on a CX bike, but 28 Schwalbe One slicks. Think I will want to avoid the really rough stuff, but a bit of hike a bike will be OK if it lends itself to a spectacular route that cannot be missed!

I think this last part of the journey is where I want to make it as enjoyable as possible. I’ve only ever cycled though the Highlands with Tim, it’d be nice to take the scenic route.

I have plotted a very rough route to Dunkeld, through Lincolnshire to avoid the Peaks and the Dales.Anyone know how to say it, it was created in Strava?

I’d very much appreciate some input to make my route through the Highlands as spectacular as possible! Especially from people who love up that way.

    Thank you!!!

    Great ideas there, thanks!
Just looking on the Sustrans website and it doesn’t fill me with confidence either.

I really like https://www.cyclestreets.net/, and it links to gpsies so I can save the routes online just in case.

I never thought to look at the audax routes. I started using Strava, but it crashed twice and I got fed up with it. And it likes the hills!

I looked at a more direct route, but I think the flat lands through Lincolnshire is looking tempting.

Haha, I think getting the train to Fort Bill and riding around the highlands will be another trip, more relaxing than this one.

This is all because my cousin / best friend died in Aldershot a few years ago and his father couldn’t bare him having to make his last trip home alone. So he popped the coffin in the back of his 110 station wagon Landy and drove him himself. Not wanting to ride up the M1, but I want to recreate his last journey.

My physio is the old team Sky’s physio, during the Hoy, Wiggins era. he fitted me using the same system Sky uses. It wasn’t just a normal fit, but one that accommodated for MY range of movement as well as my pre existing injuries and weak points. Mainly to prevent further injury.
For instance my seat is ever so slightly lower and one cleat is offset and I have a shim under it to compensate for a tighter than normal ITB.

Knowing your seat to pedal distance is yxz for instance is so you can keep the data for when you want a new bike. Better than paying out a small fortune again. The guy I went to didnt cut any cables! and he doesnt sell any components to isn’t making suggestions to buy new bits from him either.

Thats what a proper bike fitterer should be looking at.

That’s a good option too. The one I listed will work up to 40v, so can connect to a car battery if you’re really stuck!

You can get 2S lo ion protection circuits that you connect to the battery. Only a few quid at most too. They’ll save you from worrying about your battery. I’d connect them in parallel to your new usb charger, so when you unplug the charger and use the battery for the light, it’s as intended, with no extra protection circuits potentially interacting with the built in protection in the light and the battery charger.

Ok great. You can do it yourself if you can get a plug and lead for the battery. Then get one of these and connect the battery to the input (blue terminals). Simply plug any usb cable into the other end. The display gives you the voltage of the battery which is handy as the battery may not have undervoltage protection built in.

I’ve never heard of a 7.5v li ion battery though. Usually in multiples of 3.7v. So presuming yours is a 2S (7.4v) I wouldn’t let your battery go below 6v. It’s dangerous to let a li ion battery discharge too low.

You could then wrap tape around it or stick it in a little box to keep it safe. I have used one for ages and it’s great. Any dramas my email is in my profile.
    Have fun!!

Only way I found was to unlink the accounts. There doesn’t seem to be a way to stop it. I’ve trawled the Garmin forums for the same question.
Hopefully someone here will be able to help!

Great stuff! I too am making my own circuits for charging from a PD8X hub.

Andy G, about the charging circuit. Did you separate the two charging circuits with a monostable vibrator to switch over at predetermined speeds?
Also, did you add in a MOSFET to switch between having a supply to charge the batteries and running just off battery power. like a pass though circuit? Or did you just charge the NiMh in parallel with the load? I know that’s a non starter with Li-Ion but could be possible with NiMh and NiCad.
I hope to something like this for my GPS.

I did go through the Stage galleries, is that what your mean?
I’m sure it was you, I crossed the line with two other riders and we stood together and a few pics were taken, also one was taken as I finished, looking very cold and wet! Blue t shirt, yellow gloves, same as pic 180 on Stage 4, and at the same time as pic 435 on Stage 4.
Also, what happened to the ‘missing pics’, the pic count goes 435, 438, 453? Just curious!

Chrispo, yeah, those are the only pics I’ve found. I certainly remember trying to look more #enduro more times than there are pics. Especially on Stage 2 on that awesome bermy downhill singletrack, but no pics of me! Maybe I needed an orange POC lid and flouro shorts!

Strangly its not the distance and climbing thats playing on my mind but what we might be faced with on the downhills.

As above there not been a lot of detail about the stages so im hoping for goods things but expecting anything.

On their site its mentioned that there wont be anything harder than red routes. Should be alreet. The Prolouge stage looks like it could be tricky!

I know, they are £70 ish. And I admitted its overkill but I have had fun making it and have taught myself how to code at the same time. Its easier to use too.
Why chop firewood, you can buy it ready chopped?! Why build your own shed, you can get contractors in to do it for you? Why learn to build your own wheels, you can buy ready made ones. It’s a daft idea really, silly Fox, Lapierre, Scott, Cannondale and Shimano!

I can see potential here, after all it is a pretty big effort to lean down and turn the lockout.

On the fork, yes. On the shock, maybe on your bike. Imagine being in Climb or lock out, start hurtling down a rocky track with other riders right behind you. Would YOU take one hand off the bars to flick a lever that you cant see, that’s possibly obscured by a frame bag? I would have to pull over when the trail allows, or just have an annoying ride down, clattering all over the place and not enjoying it as much as I could. I live in Suffolk, and when I drive 5 hours to get to wales for some proper riding, I want to enjoy every little bit of it!

Yes, having an arduino linked up to a servo and spending hours on coding is overkill, I don’t doubt that at all, but I still think pushing a button on the handlebars, right next to the grips is easier than risking facial integration with a piece or Welsh slate!
