Hi Lat, sorry for the delay.

Yes, that is the same conclusion I came too. I was hoping the limit screw would make up for the different dimension. And clamp on front mechs seem pretty cheap too!

    Ta very much

Yip, same here. Mine were leaking from the centre o-rings as mentioned above. Fixed that but now they leak via the piston. Can’t find any reference to fixing that issue so it’s a warranty return. PITA.

Borg22 Disc rim (kinlin XR22 RTS OCR)

I have these built up around a dynamo. Used them for Mountain Mayhem too and they were more then up to the job. They usually live on my road bike with 28s.

Fantastic news. I’ll see how it goes and update here if it doesn’t work.

    Thanks all

The clamp on type is exactly what I’m after bit can’t see any others other than the expensive Problem Solvers or the Origin 8 one.

I think it needs to have the boost spacing. Or am I missing something here? Would the derailleur most likely have enough swing to move the extra 3mm?

    I’d forgotten about e type!

Would they work with the boost spacing? The BB width is still the same I think. Just the rings that are dish outwards?

If it does work I’d like to take you up on that offer vmgscot. Thank you.

I’ve emailed SJS to see if that Origin8 is compatible with the Fargo.

Nice! I was at Wattisham from ’03 to ’13, MK7 then AH.

But too busy collecting Kellogg’s tokens to be flying around!

Sorry, can’t post pics as I’m on the mobile.
With the left overs you can make all sorts of other useful bags.

Northpoint and Pennine as mentioned above. And practice beforehand!
I used VX21 as it’s what Alpkit et al use. It’s nice and rigid. And Cordura 500 for the parts that touch the frame. It’s softer and more rub resistant.
One thing I’d advise, don’t put the rough side of the Velcro on the outside, thinking you’ll protect your frame. Lycra gets eaten by the stuff! Or cover it with the Cordura, bit that’s more work.

Me too. I saw the cheaper price and got all excited thinking all sizes were that price!
Settled on getting the Watteam Powerbeat, cheaper, but a DIY install.
What about 4iiii, slightly cheaper than Stages.

Q Factor will be all wrong. I looked into this too.

    Amazing isn’t it!
Have you got a PID temp controller on it? That is a fairly cheap and easy mod and will also vastly improve taste.

Always good to have a pressure gauge. Have you tried to adjust your OPV in and out. Hopefully loosen some gunk if there’s anything on there. Definitely give it a good descale if you haven’t done so already.
Saying that, the OPV is on the cold side…
You didn’t kink any of the return pipes when you did the service? If you did, you’re effectively sending all the pressure to the grouphead

Where abouts are you aazlad? I’ve got a portafilter one available.
Getting that gauge is a good idea though. You can then backflush against it. It won’t fix your current issue but it’s good practice.
Yes, I’d get some citric acid from Wilko and load up the reservoir with some and run it through. Let it sit for 20mins with the boiler off. Then flush flush flush!
If that doesn’t work, dismantle the OVP as suggested.

Grind to brew ration is 1:2.
So 17g of coffee grounds makes 34g espresso.
Get a cheapo set of digital scales that read 0.00g as 34g of espresso is not 34ml!

As said, 20 – 25 seconds. I prefer slightly longer at 30 seconds.
But this all come down to how the coffee is ground. You’d usually grind it finer or coarser to get your time correct. As yours is pre-ground, you could try adding more or less coffee to adjust the extraction time verse weight.
A fast extraction can give a sourness, lack sweetness and a quick finish. ie, once you’ve had your drink, the flavour leaves your mouth quickly.
Too long and you get bitter / dry notes.

Just play around, take notes of your recipe and mark which ones you like and don’t like. If the numbers don’t match, but it tastes great, who cares!

I’ve had to claim with them too. Nice and straight forward, and you get to always speak with the same person which is helpful. Premium only went up about £20 for the year.

Sage smart grinder pro for me too.
Pretty consistent with it’s grind and can have a one and a two cup setting.

    Sorry to dredge this up…
Did you guys get it work successfully with Zwift? I’ve paired it with my iPhone ok, and used it with The Sufferfest and Zwift.
However at normal cadence and slow wheel speed (warm up type stuff) it’s bang on. As soon as I start the workout, the virtual power is very erratic. So if I should be at 90rpm and 220w, the virtual power is erratic, between 150 and 250.
    Anyone else experienced that?

I tried a dynamo at Mayhem. Waste of time. Went straight back to batteries on the next lap.
Even on the road you need to be going a fair pace to charge a battery big enough to run a light for any decent time. (I’ve made both dynamo lighting circuits and dynamo charging circuits)

I used to work there for about 13 years. There are attack bellypoppers but they don’t always fly at night. It’s a live airfield, there will be some traffic.
And yes, the Apache isn’t that noisy. Most of the time they are broken, so I wouldn’t worry!

    Thanks!
The existing light was gutted and I fitted new LEDs. They must be in series to work as two LEDs turn on until 14mph, then the third one lights up over 14mph.

Is the solar storm a twin LED set up? I’d get a cheap magicshine like the one I have as the triple Ledil optics fit. Or any triple Chinese style light will work.
Don’t worry about the voltage, you’ll be using completely different electronics.
I have loads of the PCBs left over. If you’re handy with a soldering iron I can send you some.

I made my own. Standlight and main light that is brighter than any others I’ve seen. Custom made PCB and used the body of a Chinese light. New genuine CREE XML LEDs and Ledil optics. No cut off lenses unfortunately.
The time I put into it though…

If you’re that serious about it, get yourself a copy of Feedzone Portables. It’s not just recipes, but a huge amount of info about your digestive system.
There probably isn’t anything worse that pure sugar! Your body has very specific requirements for digesting food. Mess that up over 12 hours and you’re gonna need a lot of big roll.

It is faster than my previous 29er. First ride out round the Thetford loops on the Fattie and I got PRs on nearly every segment.

I haven’t fiddled with the sag yet to help the pedal strikes.

No calf rub, but then a flamingo would make fun of my legs…

I do suffer from pedal strike with the 650b+ wheels. Even round Thetford it’s noticeable and annoying.

My Fattie6 is ‘interesting’ in the mud. I bought a second set of 29er wheels for that reason. But in the dry, those 3″ tyres are unbelievable!

TBH, the Spey Valley itself isn’t particularly wild and if you’re passing Aviemore on the route from Aldershot to Aberdeen then you’re doing it wrong
My folks live in Glasgow so I thought I’d pop in to see them too :D

Thanks, I will PM ya. I was going to go from Pitlochry, over Glenshee towards Ballater (more family there), but fancied a longer route to enjoy the Cairngorms for a while longer.

Don’t move to Lowestoft unless you like sitting in traffic and watching the survey boat go under the bridge. I’m sure it waited for me each morning!

Beccles perhaps? Norwich is so so much better though.

Thetford is ok for riding. best bet is to get a road bike, some great rides around the coast. The Peaks aren’t far for a weekend of MTB’ing
