I’m no tax expert but I thought contractors linked to only one supplier after two years were classified as IR35 inclusive ?

As said, no expert but I have taken on contractors (short and long term) and always running upto the two year period had to release them or they’ve left because of the rules

If they have other clients and aren’t just working for one at the same time then ir35 is falling over.

However he worked just for them for 6 years no?

The problem I see with any of this is that such ‘staff groups’ end up promoting difference to the point of potentially creating new sorts of divides. So, for example, I believe that people experience and manifest an array of sexualities, but defining ourselves as such (for example, by establishing a group in the workplace based on any one of those sexualities) can create an ‘us and them’ environment.

I don’t want to think of someone whose sexuality is different to mine as ‘them’; we’re all just ‘us’.

I understand why the sexual liberation movement began, and how it was necessary for a whole variety of people; I can’t wait, though, until the language of division disappears, and we can all just act like human beings in pursuit of goodness.

Saying that. I was riding at Cannock a couple of weeks ago.  Saw a woman walk down the entirety of the first bit of the Monkey, which is some fairly tight switchbacks – some with steps around the corners.  I asked if she had ridden the Monkey before as it had a few similar descents.  She got irate and pretty much suggested I had said this because she was a woman. Not at all.  I’m used to being passed by fitter and more skilled women – it happens!  I was. concerned because she had no confidence and/or capability for those type of trails and might injure herself…  I would have and have said the same to anyone!
