I have a Pike 150mm air spring sitting in the house if you want to make me an offer.

Ive just started wearing them because my eyes water so bad its unreal, to the point where i was having to stop to wipe my eyes or blink massively. Which isn’t fun.

I do feel pretty self conscious wearing them tho, you do look a bit of a dick.

Butcher up front and Purgatory grid out back for me. I personally wouldnt run non grids in the rear but im probably heavier than a lot of the racing snakes on here.

And god forbid people actually tie the straps up properly on the bikes. I swear some people think the bikes are held on by magic then complain it takes the driver ages to re-do all of them.

Im about to do my first ride home tomorrow, 18 miles off road, cant be arsed with on road even tho its about 5 miles shorter. 13 miles on a Alpine 160 doesnt appeal to me if im honest. lol.

Brought my bike and stuff in today, will catch the train to work tomorrow morning and ride home after work.

For me the best loop from GC is whites climb, the old diversion fire road up to helter skelter, hokey kokey, jorider then fire road past groovy gulley then back to windy point. Then whites.

Penhydd/blue scar is the worst trail up afan imo.

I’ve bent three zee mechs on two different bikes. They can’t deal with chain growth. Worst was on my large alpine where it lasted 4 months.

All three bent across the main steel body twisting the cage outwards. All three cages are fine.

I would say it’s closer to 7500 than 5500. Blade is over 2500, W2 is about 3500 and penhydd with blue scar is 2000.

    Stages are up then.

S1 – Dai Hard – from below the start gap jump.
S2 – Wibbly Wobbly into Rim Dinger – half of rim dinger to the climb.
S3 – Vicious Valley into Bonneville. Starts where it splits from A470 and ends where Bonneville joins Blue Belle.

See you tomorrow, or later if you’re registering today!

Depends which way you go. Up to the ruins and up past the end of A470 takes about 20 mins. 25 mins for the normal climb missing the singletrack on the top half.

I tend to a full climb then session the top half as its easy to climb up from the mid fire road.

Yeah, i was just riding up. That was my last run after 3 full climbs.

If you don’t think it needs much skill you’re not riding it fast enough imo.

Its one of my favourite trails up there, its been tamed a little bit of the past few months tho.

Theres a quicker way to the top other than the fire road. Steeper but quicker.

Up the uplift fire road then turn off left past the old cottage thats on Blue Belle, up to the mid fire road. Fire road from end of A470 up to the top section of uplift road.

Carson for me last night. Had to change my resistance setting on the bike and the app to allow for more gears to be able to hit the cadence and power requested. Im hoping the power curve for my turbo is linear so my FTP still kinda stands but ive adjusted it again and it feels pretty good, similar to the others before it.

I’ve the best part of 15 uplift days there now and mine always starts the same way. Sixtapod onto willy waver.

Do melted welly onto blue belle then norkle next as its the longest and after 7-10 uplifts you wont want to do that small climb at the end of melted welly.

Dont both with the following: wibbly wobbly. Half cut. Deep navigation. There way more others to do before these imo.

Start with the two blue from the top, then throw in vicious valley onto bonneville then onto insufficient funds (best there imo). Add some A470 action and some blacks and thats all youll be able to do.

Thanks for the info, if it wasnt for Merlin doing the SLX for 29 quid I would just go for XT.

I’ll try my luck with CRC.

3rd Zee mech bent, only slightly tweaked outwards but its killing my lower jockey wheel. Its clearly down to the chain growth so im going to change it to a medium cage.

Looking at the SLX it looks indential to my zee on the front and rear body parts. Should i not bother with this as i keep bending these and look at the different Deore or step up to XT?

Whites climb. Turn right and fire road over to Helter Skelter on Blade. Ride that, hokey kokey, joyrider, up the fire road past the start of that blade section and past deadwood, keep on the fire road taking the first left turn, follow that back past the start of helter skelter to the top of whites climb. Black run and the rest of Whites. Done.

Week off the turbo for me too, still rode outside, went to the gym and played basketball so not much of a week off. lol.

Used both. I like the bigger platform of the superstars for my bigger feet so if if i had to choose i’d go SS, if the price is the same. They’re both good so go with whatever is cheapest.

Bonneville is awesome in the wet, its worn so much its gritty and grippier than you think.

I hope its not wibbly wobbly, worst trail on the mountain imo. Vicious valley with the new wooden drop to start which opened yesterday gotta be a certain.

I think it will be two trails together for one stage as well. Rim dinger is short, its only a 2 minute run.

Itll be the lower reds, making people ride ETD and Dai Hard is asking for trouble from novice riders.

Im hoping for any of the following, vicious valley, bonneville, rim dinger, pork belly and coal not dole.

This is the chest mount I bought. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00KU70D4Q?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01

I turned the camera upside down on the chest mount to get the angle correct then flipped recording it in the settings in camera. To get the correct angle i found was easy, standing on the bike in the riding position and looking at it.

My settings were default apart from changing quality to fine. I did add some contrast and saturday to the footage in iMovie, but only a little, which i might not do on the next upload.

Youtube and/or iMovie has dropped the quality a little, i might try to export then upload using youtube instead of share through iMovie. I was using a Samsung 8gb Class 2 card as i couldn’t find my 32gb Sandisk Class 10 card, which is what I use in my Contour camera, ive now found it, typical.

    Hope that helps.

Had my first go with it on Saturday on BPW uplift. Im impressed. Run it with the 10 quid chest mount, pretty easy to set up and use, wish the light could be seen better in the bright light tho.

Heres my first vid taken with it.

    Sixtapod.

I’ve decided to keep my wrong colour non wifi wrong order. Camera itself seems to be spot on and for 35 quid I was going to get this model anyway.

Rampworld tonight and BPW tomorrow to try it out.

Did anyone take longer to do sweet spot base than it says?

Im struggling to fit in 3 sessions a week, plus a ride on the weekend and I play basketball. Ive managed up until now to do 3 weeks of it but can see this week only doing 2. I would do early mornings but i sometimes do gym work first thing.

Very little snow round here, been dry but cold for a good few days now so should be spot on. All the trail centres deal with it well anyway.

Looks impressive Geoffj, glad i took the punt and got one now.

How you finding the wifi app?
