I saw this this morning, looks interesting but for me to buy it over a hero 2 it would have to be cheaper as theres some good deals about for the hero 2 which is tried and tested.

Still would love to see some reveiws tho.

I am soooo tempted with the RLT Revs!

I was looking at pretty much the same options but the 2013 RLT versions.

I guessed with that difference in price the peformance different must be the same.

    Looks good to me.

Cant quite work out if this is the “adult skills area” or part of the new bits of the Wall or a mix of both.

Either way i’ll be on it soon.

I got a voodoo bokor, same frame just like the hoodoo and the above wanga just different spec bits.

Its taken an absolute beating from me to be honest, im 6ft2 and over 18stone and my local is afan (15 mins away) or 5 mins to get onto skyline.

Rear bearings are going tho as theyre not sealed like the fronts, but other than that everything is just normal wear and tear stuff.

I got it for under 600 quid, sale price minus a cheeky NUS discount, i cant see any other bike with 140mm air forks and that spec coming close to the money of what i paid.

I found it interesting that Joe Murray was actually riding a halfords Voodoo Zobop tho.

I use a drafter, personally i think its the perfect size, slightly bigger than a Mule with more internal pockets for things, dedicated pump pocket etc..

Hydration pack wise its superb, no problems with it at all. Bite valve works well, click fit connections etc…

My only small annoyance is the fact you have to undo the helmet carrying straps to get into the bag properly. Nothing major but they should have put the straps onto the front of the bag not onto the back side of the zip.

Its been out in all kinds of weather and kept everything dry, including my phone in the phone pocket on the outside.

Out of ineterst, whats the weight on the folding versions? Says 750g on the site but not sure which ones this for.

Tempted to run this as a rear tyre instead of my Ardents as it looks very similar.

The wall is completely open with the new bits nearly ready, some interesting singletrack coming down and joining graveyard as well(obviously not open yet).

Skyline has been the same for a few months now, eastern portion shut (most of it still rideable if you know it well), but dont take the diversion all the way back to deadwood, take a left on the bridleway where there is a stone drop off in the middle of it to the end of grenada and go down july and do joyrider. The bottom part of the diversion is awful, no idea why its there.

No idea when whites climb is shutting, was still open this weekend as above. If it joins the bottom of energy where the old way used to come down it would mean, if you done the black run, youd have to do that SHIT fireroad climb three times before the final skyline descent.

    I got a voodoo bokor.

Its rare on here because i bought a bike from halfords and most people on here wouldnt be seen dead with a bike from halfords.

Not heard anything of it closing yet. Not been on whites this weekend.

I checked out most of skyline this weekend tho, some interesting stuff happening.

New bit of single track going in at the end of grenada, cuts out a little of the fire road climb up towards short and sweet (not much tho), still a climb tho.

Checked out the new diversion, which can take you all the way back to deadwood, but i would not recommend this to be honest, the bit where it crosses the trail (about half mile before grenada and not long after heartburn sectio)n from there down to deadwood is awful, really muddy, cut up and not worth it at all. No idea why it sends you down there as fast forward and joyrider is still open.

Im not a fan. Tough climb for not a great deal of fun going down on a hard tail.

Yes the small section at the top and the one at the bottom are good but for some reason it just feels like your going up all the time.

Ive been running ardents for about 8 months on my hardtail, im over 18 stone and go pretty quick on a hard tail, my local is Afan (15 mins away) and ive only had two pinch flats, mostly down to low pressure, both on the front tyre.

Might just be one of those things.

Im happy to post up info if people want some.

I try and help people with the diversions when im out as well.

Diversions are pretty weak in places, like the turn off to start the skyline descent from the fireroad, and general sign posts off the top off the initial climb to go either down the black run or over to windy point.

Worst bit ive seen is 373 on the wall is supposed to be open but everyone i know who has ridden there lately is saying it actually looks closed.

I also dont know why theyve closed off the eastern loop of skyline as its all still rideable.

Its not open yet, im riding it again tomorrow and will post back if i see any other news.

Im a local and I think peoples views on the area are pretty skewed by what people say on the net, if Afan had a better line of communication on the web I think people wouldnt feel like they do.

Lots of things going on on a plus side all within a year…

    Penhydd reopening
New skills area on the wall/lodge area
New sections on the wall, some opening very soon.
New sections of skyline, some already open (yes i know they shut the eastern section but most of it wasnt that great apart from south pit and maybe grand canyon)
    Reopening goodwood and darkside
New whites climb (could be good, depends on how you view climbs, personally anything that takes me to windy point quicker thats not a fire road is a bonus)

Ive got a T6 one only, and the spot is strong, but ill be using this on my helmet, then a P7 jobbie on the bars, which im yet to get.

So in basic terms (from my experience of seeing/owning both)

T6 – Focused spot beam – wear on helmet
P7 – Wider Flood – Mount on bars

    Done.

I dont get it, some people are actually riding 373 according to strava and nothing on the Afan forest website says its closed.

I bet that 1000 people was done on a survey from the car park in Glyncorwg or something, you have to include people who park elsewhere like along with people like me who ride it localy by joing it in different areas.

I think people who think its not worth it are mad. Its still an awesome place to ride.

That diversion on the wall is gone from today apparently along with 373. So basically the wall is fully open.

Totally agree with above, one place for the latest info is badly needed, right now i use cognation, MBWales, Afan Forest park websites along with their facebook and twitter accounts, all have different info at different times. Rubbish.

@wrecker, my guess its a new singletrack climb which uses part of Darkside (theyve called it Darkside B)for most of it then it joins the bottom of energy. Unless theyre using goodwood and darkside as the new way up.

Im more intersted in what theyre doing with Skyline tho as thats what i ride mostly, well part it as i go in from the Rhigos road and do smaller loops of it.

    philwarren11

Currently theres a small diversion in place, but the whole climb will be closed at the end of the month.

On the new section on Skyline, is that singletrack?

    List of closures here…

    http://www.afanforestpark.co.uk/default.aspx?page=6486

According to people doing strava the old skyline is rideable but i think is not signposted, so if you dont know it i wouldbnt bother.

The wall should be fully open according to that link by Friday.

I wonder what the new climb out of glyncorrwg is going to be like on Whites?

I think whites is better with the skyline downhill rather than original end.

Has anyone ridden the new route back from riding high they put in place of the entire eastern section?

For me living close it was easy to drive up on top of the Rhigos, do a loop of the easter bit then drive home.

Go down the fire road to the bottom of the black run and back up the fireroad climb to catch the diversion over to skyline descent.

Not sure why you would want to miss out energy tho.

Skyline has loads of stuff shut, eastern part like south pit and excalibar, but a whole new section from the end of riding high back down to granada, not sure if its singletrack, think it is as its not marked as a fire road on the OS/google maps.

Its not 50/50 whether or not its worth parking in Glyncorwg or Afan for the Wall as the diversion takes you up the valley towards glyncorwg anyway, just means its a long boring route back when you finish.

All the closures are listed in that link above.

When everything is completed i think Afan is going to be awesome, updated Skyline, re-opened Penhydd, improved whites and the wall along with the newly opened family stuff.
