Is there any way to run this with with SRAM 10 speed shifters? I wanna move to shimano but fancy doing it bit by bit.

Do Blaengarw. 4 mile long trail split half way for a black top half and blue bottom half. Its 15 mins from Bridgend junction of the M4 on the way westbound to Afan.

Do the wall and extra bits from the bike park. Dont bother with Skyline as most of it is shut or diverted.

Whites is running well despsite an entirely new climb and final decsent.

Should the shifter shift up and down without any cable tension? I assume it should as its just a sprung ratchet system.

I went from a 720/70 to a 780/45. Seems spot on for what i want, climbing is slightly worse but that doesnt bother me much as i only climb to go down. This is on a large ’13 stumpy evo.

    Exactly as above for me.

Use lightroom, rate or flag photos i want to keep/edit and reject the others. Use the lightroom cleanup tool to delete all rejected photos.

Cant see me changing, does everything i need and does it well.

2×10 type 2 and chain guide on my 2013 stumpy evo, works really well.

Why would you not want to drive up to the bike park if thats all you want to do?

You can do all the best bits of the wall without any of the crap fireroad climbs. If you know it well you can ride up to 373 and do that and graveyard back to the bike park. New loop as well. Down zig zags and back up the enduro climb (not marked).

Parking in Rhyslyn is the best option imo if you want to do the whole trail. Riding back up to the visitor centre after doing the trail and zig zags is just hard work and boring. Both bike park and Rhyslyn are free. You wont see a local parking at the visitor centre for a reason.

I dont know any watch that will do 1 second interval recording so for tight twisty singletrack i wouldnt reccomend a watch.

My iphone 5 is way more accurate than my garmin forerunner 405 on the tight stuff and the same on normal XC stuff.

my large 2013 Stumpy Evo is just under 14kg, i added superstar pedals and 780mm bars. I think thats alright for a large with 150mm travel and a dropper post. Prefer climbin on it that my same weight hard tail.

Got knock off aero ebay jobbies for cheap and theyre spot on, no noise at all, they stay on my car all the time and i do about 20,000 miles a year in it.

I looked at all the ones mentioned and got a ’13 stumpy evo.

Im 19 stone, got a large fram and dont take it easy on bikes, snapped the chainstay on my last frame due to hammering it if that gives you any idea.

Im glad i went and got mine locally, clutch rear mech packed up withing a week, took it back, replaced it on the spot and a new chain. Dont get that kind of service from Canyon.

The bike itself is awesome, only thing i would maybe change would be the cable routing down the downtube, looks a bit untitdy. But thats being picky! I think the bike looks amazing as well, some nice touches like the indexed rear skewer so you can postion the lever where you want. Dropper is decent, 3 position is pretty much all i need to be honest. Couldnt be happier with it. 🙂

As far as i can think of theres only been one diversion this year and thats the current one on whites climb (awful!).

Personally I would do Whites, with black run, have food in Skyline then drive down to the bike park and do as much as you want, bike park stuff, extra loop past the start of zig zags, you can even fire road it from the bike park up to the start of 373, do that and graveyard back to the bike park. Plus you you can do zig zags and do the enduro climb back up to the bike park if you want.

I cant see me doing the wall in full anymore, and if I do i’ll be parking at Rhyslyn and skipping tramway, the boring fireroad and nant y bar. You can follow the trail map for this.

For a fairly innocuous section of trail centre trail, riding Stage 1 flat out at race pace made it pretty wild, without even considering the ice on a few of the faster corners.

Best section of trail on that mountain imo.

Garw valley for me is the best, yes its only 3 miles in total but what you get from it is amazing. Steep climb up and fun packed down.

Dont bother with Skyline if you dont know the route, tree felling has cut the official route down loads and the diversions are shocking to the point it actually misses the still open stuff, but the July descent is still awesome. The whole original skyline loop is still perfectly rideable if you know the area or have GPS maps.

If i was travelling down i’d be doing W2 wih extra stuff on the wall at the bike park. Or if you want some fun, park at the bike park, ride the fireroad up to end of Picadilly and do new 373 and graveyard loop, carry on down ziz zags and take the Enduro shortcut back up then mess about in the bike park and do the extra loop just past the zig zags.

Or you could go do the masts. 😉

All perfectly doable on a hardtail (maybe not the masts), ive ridden them all loads of times on mine.

Good luck with v-brakes with this weather on any trail at afan/cwmcarn!

Its all doable, just wont be that enjoyable imo.

No issues about on any of those routes on the gravity enduro. Had quite a bit of rain here past 24 hours but those sections dont seem to hold much anyway.

Bottom end of graveyard might be the worse.

I’ve flown to Genevre many times for skiing, never with my bike, but if its as useless as when you go skiing i’d avoid like the plague.

Driving would be my preferred option if doing it.

If you didnt have tubless ready rims and tyres im guessing the cost to swap them to tubless ready would be way more than a set of these tubes?

Ive been skiing for nearly 30 years now, started when i was 4 years old and have never once worn a helmet and ibve done some stupid things, which i wont go into.

Ive never thought about it either until last year when i was pretty much in the minority of people NOT wearing them.

I have no problems wearing one but i’m not that bothered about gettin one at the moment unless i look like someone on old fashioned skiis wearing an all in one. Yes i know it sounds like a little contrived but ive could probably count on one hand the amount of times ive fallen in the past 10 years and most of them have been my own stupidity not someone elses.

Ive had a bokor which the frame has just been replaced by a wanga on warranty as I snapped the chainstay after 8 months, around 300 miles. Im 18 stone+ and ride it like i stole it every weekend at Afan. Had to take loads of photos and send the frame back as they’d never seen it snap there before. Service was awesome as well, took the bike in and had the new frame the next day.

I’d disagree with the brakes, i think theyre awesome for the money, feel far better than the Avid Elixir 5’s i tried this weekend.

Paint is pretty thin but nothing a small amount of tape wont sort out.

I’ve swapped out the bars for wider ones again (theyre a decent length as standard) and put some superstar flats on.

That one looks good to me.

If your posting asking about it then dont bother with the skills park, just do the awesome option on 373 and the additonal loop before the zig zags.

As the sign posting is utter rubbish, ride from bettws lodge towards zig zags and dont turn off the fireroad, takes you up to the start of the corker (as people are calling it on Strava) which then brings you back down to bettws lodge.
