Is it obvious what the size of the DIY tokens would be? I just made some volume spacers for my float shock easily as I got access to a 3D printer so can easily make them for the shock if its easy.

Thanks for the info, any reason why you mixed up the oil? Could I use 10cc of float fluid?

I have a 13 stumpy evo with those forks. The description is correct as stated above.

Theyre very good forks but the stump evo apparently works great with a beefier fork and also the all black pikes look amazing fitted to it.

Ill be selling my forks in the next few weeks as well for this reason, probably get something at 160mm instead of the 150mm revs because of teh type of riding i like doing and where i live (south wales).

Im a bit gutted to see them going for that price to be honest, i might just keep them and put them on my hardtail.

Whats longevity like with these? Riding in south wales drive train gets eaten pretty quickly.

How long before you lose the retention of the wide narrow teeth?

Ride the singletrack up then melted welly onto blue belle is very XC in my opinion.

Fire road is easier, with one climb and 23 downhill sections why wouldnt you want to take the easiest/quickest way up? Its what BPW is about.

Done it again today, apart from the bog/unfinished section its not that bad. Not all the trees have been cut down, probably about 2/3 i reckon.

The rest is still awesome as usual.

59 head for me and I bought a large. Wish I didn’t. Had it months now and it’s adjusted as small as possible. Tried on a medium this morning and it’s a way better fit.

As above. Start on Sixtapod onto Willy Waver and try to do it without grinning loads.

The photos i’ve seen of Blade looks like a bermfest. Make of that as you will but personally i cant wait for it, especially as i can get to it from the Rhigos top.

We talking about the muddy bit by the fire road in the middle that was there before it shut? I used to bypass that by riding down the small fire road.

I dont get why people stay away from afan, yes whites was diverted, was still awesome even with the diversion in place, darkside as a climb is alright and the new descent is super fast. Windy point, which is hands down the best section of trail in any south wales trail centre is untouched and energy is still the same.

If they don’t you could try EC Cycles which is close by.

I done uplift at BPW, managed 11 runs, blacks were a bit muddy in places like coming out of the trees on dai hard, rest were spot on. I ride a trail bike.

People who have said otherwise must not live in South Wales.

2013 stumpy evo here. Had it since april. Broke a rear mech, chain, front hub, spokes, dented rims (Don skenes reckons its toast lol) and killed a BB.

I think i ride pretty quick and im 18 stone so i expect to break things, plus i live in south wales. Having said that i absolutely love the bike, i swapped to zee 1×10, 780mm bars and a 45mm stem and its awesome. Its way better than i will ever be.

I must be riding a different Cwmcarn. The free ride and last descent are good but the rest are too short and you always get hit by a climb after every descent.

In otherwords, the climb isnt worth the effort.

Done it Tuesday night and wish i’d done it kinda in reverse like a few people were doin it.

Shite. Mine lasted two rides. Taping came off and they split at the seam.

How hard is to make a decent durable bike short?

Im running them. I like them. Not much more to add.

I did rip a sidewall on a berm at Gethin, but thats probably my weight and riding hard on low pressures.

    @ Zippy.

Not being a cock, just stating a fact.

Showing photos at different exposure settings using an iPhone 5 isnt the way to do it and can give false impressions of a light setup.

I think i’ve seen standard exposure settings for taking photos of light set ups somewhere, something like f5.6 @ iso 100 at some sort of shutter speed.

Basically you need to have manual control of aperture, shutter and iso to get a direct and fair comparision between settings, then this differs between cameras.

    Better answer?

2 x 15 quid ebay jobbies for me, T6 ones, one with a wide beam reflector put in.

For 35 quid all in for two lights i cant understand why you’d want to spend more.

And i love people taking photos of their light setups in the dark when they have no clue about taking photos.

Skyline has been cut short massive, the diversion back makes no sense and actually misses some open and rideable sections (fast forward etc..). If doing it i would ride the trail as marked but when returning on the bridleway i would take a left down passed the end of grenada and onto fast forward and joyrider, which is what the trail should do instead of that bullshit boggy brideleway which comes out at the same point!

If you have a GPS map take your phone and ride the whole thing, its a bit overgrown in parts but makes for a quality ride. None of the original (apart from the final descent at the moment) is unrideable.

Personally if you wanted a biger ride its a good option to W2 as Skyline is all of current whites and more.

I ride up there often so know whats open and whats not.

Thanks for the info, i wasnt intendeing on running them tubeless. Want something a bit more beefy than my current specialized purgatory on the rear.

Bit off topic but has anyone tried the EXO versions of the high roller 2?

On opening day a few people got on with 4 quid payments, make sure you got change tho as the drivers arent allowed to carry a float.

No idea what the ride up is like, but i cant imagine you’d want to on a DH bike.

Roval Traverse rims on my Stump evo.

Some great info tho, thanks people. 🙂

Very good question regarding the tyre choice, they were a set of Specialized Purgatory tyres, 2.3, which are tubeless ready.

The rims have had a battering in 6 months, ive managed to get the most of the dings out with a flat plate and a set of mole grips.

Great price on those rims but the hubs dont get good write ups, especially on a 20mm and 142/12, which is what i need.

I got 10 runs in yesterday, probably could have done 11 without a puncture.

The blues are stupidly fast and flowing, with willy waver being the best imo. The reds are really good with some nice features, nice change to see some drops and jumps thrown into them, the blacks are more natural feeling again with even bigger drops and jumps, that step down/road gap is a monster. I was on a stumpy evo and apart from wanting dual ply tyres (going too fast for 18stone) i didn’t feel under biked at all.

No idea who thinks this is beyond south wales stuff, some of the blacks felt like stuff at Smilog and Afan masts etc.. which is good.

Uplifts did and will get quicker, but its not an issue as hardly waited and was a bit of a break after the runs, sixtapod onto willy waver is over 2 miles long.

Amazing place, they done a superb job.

Comp evo here, no issues with the climbing, im the one holding it back. Its a great bike, ive done all sorts on it living in South Wales.

Hearing that the Enduro comp will be 2600 for 2014 would make me think about getting that over the Stumpy evo tho.
