No problems with my Pike adaptor, nice and tight, and my mates is the same. Great bit of kit.

Thanks but not thanks unless you can command what that extra time is worth monetary/perks wise.

Think he could get shitty if you turn it down?

Great username for this thread btw.

I’ve killed 3 in two years, about 1500 miles of riding.

    2 x Zee, 1 x X9.

    Not for me.

No faff with gettin them installed, thought that part was very easy.

I hardly ever puncture with tubes but for some reason i kept burping and ripping tyres off the rim running mid 30’s. Not worth the hassle for me, granted im not the racing snake i see most bikers and i ride hard and do a lot of uplifts. That being said in 11 uplift days at BPW i’ve not had a single puncture.

This was on Specialized Roval rims and Spesh tyres.

I am tempted to try it again with my Flows and Maxxis tyres which are way more durable and hardwearing.

Does it upload to Garmin ok? If it does export out of there the GPX file.

    From that thread:

Upload the main GPX file including all the lift rides
Crop the first downhill run, so that only the first downhill run remains
Export the lap from Strava, save it somewhere and name it accordingly (for example 1.gpx)
    Delete everything from Strava
Upload the main GPX file again
    Crop the second downhill run
Export the second downhill run (2.gpx)
Repeat until you have a GPX file for each downhill run
Now upload these runs separately to Strava, one after another

Probably marked as hazardous by the uplift drivers so you dont see the speed the bomb up the road loaded with bikes! (im not complaining about this, love FoD uplift!)

Here’s the link for the uplift discussion on Strava…

They are implementing an uplift feature where it would remove you from any uphill segments and meters climbed.

Used to be able to do it on Ride With GPS, crop and save as a separate file but they took that away with the premium upgrade. Thats what i used to use.

If you know the times of your runs then cut and paste from the gpx file in Excel.

Had loads go like that on my roval wheels from my 13 stumpy Evo, pieces of crap, the whole wheelset was binned within 10 months.

The downtube is from Rockguardz and its carbon. Chainstay is a jumbo lizard skin.

I’ve just built up a 2014 26″ Alpine, only done one ride on it and one FoD uplift day on it but its feels awesome.

It weighs 32.5lbs, but its a large and im about 16 stone fully kitted up. I havent built it to be light. I kept breaking stuff (snapped chain and seat stays etc..) on my 2013 Stump Evo so wanted something bombproof.

Purgatory is a great tyre but doesnt last that long, sidewalls are too thin.

The Purgatory Grid is one of the best tyres you can get tho with not much weight penalty over the non-grid. I don’t see why you would buy a non grid over a grid version tbh.

Does anyone know if a tomtom bluetooth speed/cadence sensor will work with trainer road?

I have it on my hard tail which i use with my TomTom Multisports watch and Polar H7 and this looks quality.

Im just over 6′ 1″ and i rode a large with a 45mm stem. Felt good, the top tube is nice and long so always felt really balanced and planted.

I loved it until i broke most things on it and lost confidence in it. Cracked seat and chain stays etc..

I love some of the weights being thrown about here, surely they must be small frames?

I’ve had a pretty light 150 2013 FS, whilst it was a great bike i broke it. Many times. Snapped chainstay and seat stay. So now i’ve built a 2014 alpine, with all hard as nails stuff that I know works and its coming in at 32.5lbs. Not bothered as i know i can smash this thing into anything with confidence.

Some people get hung up on weight when how it rides is more important.

I love my spesh command post, i timed a service the other day and it took me 8 minutes. And thats including remove it and putting it back in the frame.

Car park does fill up but always room.

Ride as much fire road alongside singletrack. Push straight up the steep fire road to cut out singletrack at the start (but you wont save much time).

Session the top half a few times. All the top trails come down to the same fire road, so you can ride back up from there. So ride to the top, ride sixtapod to the fire road and turn right up the slight hill to rejoin the climb back to the top, same goes for any of the top trails.

I have a 2.5 DHF EXO and its an ok size, certainly not massive and probably not 2.5″, probably more like 2.4, i think the 2.4 HR2 EXO which i run the rear is slightly wider.

I’ll get some exact measurements if you want.

Im more surprised it took you 5 years to crack a chainstay. lol.

I done a seat stay and chainstay on my 2013 stumpy evo within 12 months.

They obviously honoured warranty but on the second one they replaced the seatstay with a generic seatstay that was used on other models as it has a boss welded in to take a brain shock, probably off a camber or something as they didnt hold stock of my specific frame part. Shame really.

BillOddie report back on how those new versions work, i’ve been keeping my eye on them for a few weeks now but not seen many.

At some point they will have more trails than they can get people up onto the mountain.

I’ve managed to do 10 uplift days there now, including opening day uplift and i’ve never thought any of the trails have been busy.

First thing, no one is ever on the first bus or two.

Towards end of the day, people break their bikes and themselves quite often.

I know people who have had 6 or 7 pay per ride on a saturday no problems.

Any PF30 BB. SRAM, PSA and Wheels Mfg. All SHIT.

MRP 1x – Broke it putting it together the plastic is that soft.

Truvativ XO Chain Device – Should have learnt from above about how bad the design of that MRP top device is and how soft the plastic is.

I’d like to say Zee mechs, i’ve bent three of them now but that’s more my fault than the zee mech, but they all bend in the same place…

I don’t think tramway is that good either now

I wouldn’t even bother with alpha or elevator just ride the cycle path all the way up.

Don’t forget to take the right turn onto the new option on 373 which is way better than the original route. And also make sure you do the new loop back to the bike park before doing zig zags.

If I’m honest I hardly ever ride full wall anymore. Park in rhyslyn, ride the fire road straight up to the bike park go and do 373 and graveyard play about in the bike park then ride zig zags back to the car. The rest isn’t worth the climbing.

Whites climb, windy point, W2 link over to the wall, bike park mess about and zig zag decent then ride the cycle path up to beans on toast at skyline. Best bits of the mountain imo.

Weather wise its been great round here the past week or so so all the trails will be in great condition.

Mine were the 28mm wide ones, grey stickers on them.

    This was my bike… http://www.evanscycles.com/products/specialized/stumpjumper-fsr-comp-evo-2013-mountain-bike-ec042228

My mate had a set and change them for some flows.

Riding south wales and uplifting BPW, Cwmcarn and FoD a lot tests any wheelset tho, kept snapping spoked and they kept going out of true badly.

The traverses i had on my 2013 stumpy eve were awful, lasted 8 months before i had to replace them, way too flex for me. Replaced mine with some flows which have been spot on for just as long now.

Forgot trails you should do. I’ll tell you one you shouldnt do.

Half cut. Pointless waste of time. Especially when you realise you have to go back up hill and have chosen it over bonneville and rock and roll.

Talking of people stacking it, i’m surprised more people dont get hurt on Rock and Roll.
